-Emmanuel heals
an invalid:.John
5:1-18 "After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Emmanuel went
up to Jerusalem. Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool,
which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In
these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered,
waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain
season into the pool, and troubled.(agitated,
moved).the
water. Whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in
was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there,
which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Emmanuel saw him lie,
and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him,
Wilt thou be made whole? The impotent.(weak,
feeble).man
answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me
into the pool. But while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Emmanuel saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately
the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked. And on the same
day was the sabbath. The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It
is the sabbath day. It is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. He answered
them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and
walk. Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take
up thy bed, and walk? And he that was healed wist not who it was; for Emmanuel
had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place. Afterward Emmanuel
findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole.
Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. The man departed, and told
the Jews that it was Emmanuel, which had made him whole. And therefore
did the Jews persecute Emmanuel, and sought to slay him, because he had
done these things on the sabbath day. But Emmanuel answered them, My Father
worketh hitherto, and I work. Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill
him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God
was his Father, making himself equal with God."
-Emmanuel heals a blind
and mute man:.Matthew
12:22 "Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind,
and dumb; and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake
and saw."
-Emmanuel heals blind Bartimaeus:.Mathew
20:29-34 "And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed
him. And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard
that Emmanuel passed by, cried out, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord, thou
Son of David. And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold
their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord,
thou Son of David. And Emmanuel stood still, and called them, and said,
What will ye that I shall do unto you? They say unto him, Lord, that our
eyes may be opened. So Emmanuel had compassion on them, and touched their
eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him."
Mark 10:46-52
"And they came to Jericho. And as he went out of Jericho with his disciples
and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat
by the highway side begging. And when he heard that it was Emmanuel of
Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Emmanuel, thou Son of David, have
mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace. But he
cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. And Emmanuel
stood still and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man
saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee. And he, casting
away his garment, rose, and came to Emmanuel. And Emmanuel answered and
said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man
said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Emmanuel said unto
him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received
his sight, and followed Emmanuel in the way." Luke
18:35-43 "And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho,
a certain blind man sat by the way side begging. And hearing the multitude
pass by, he asked what it meant. And they told him, that Emmanuel of Nazareth
passeth by. And he cried, saying, Emmanuel, thou Son of David, have mercy
on me. And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his
peace. But he cried so much the more, Thou Son of David, have mercy on
me. And Emmanuel stood and commanded him to be brought unto him. And when
he was come near he asked him, Saying, What wilt thou that I shall
do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. And Emmanuel
said unto him, Receive thy sight. Thy faith hath saved thee. And immediately
he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people,
when they saw it, gave praise unto God."
-Emmanuel heals blind man:.Mark
8:22-26 "And he cometh to Bethsaida; and they bring a blind man unto
him, and besought him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand
and led him out of the town; and when he had spit on his eyes and put his
hands upon him, he asked him if he saw ought. And he looked up and said,
I see men as trees, walking. After that he put his hands again upon his
eyes and made him look up; and he was restored and saw every man clearly.
And he sent him away to his house, saying, Neither go into the town, nor
tell it to any in the town."
-Emmanuel heals child with
demon:.Matthew
17:14-20 "And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him
a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying, Lord, have mercy on my
son. For he is lunatick.(original
has it 'epileptic'), and sore
vexed.(or,
as original has 'sore vexed' – 'miserably undergoes his life');
or ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water. And I brought
him to thy disciples and they could not cure him. Then Emmanuel answered
and said, O faithless and perverse.(original
has it, 'turned from God' – as a society in general).generation,
how long shall I be with you? How long shall I suffer.(endure,
bear' – as Emmanuel saw, just as today, most people want someone to better
their lot, then avoid effort to better another's life).you?
Bring him hither to me. And Emmanuel rebuked the devil; and he departed
out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Then came the
disciples to Emmanuel apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? And
Emmanuel said unto them, Because of your unbelief. For verily I say unto
you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this
mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing
shall be impossible unto you." Mark
9:14-29 Luke
9:37-43.
