Ecclesiastes
7:25 "I applied mine heart to know and to search and to seek out wisdom
and the reason of things and to know the wickedness of folly, even of
foolishness
and madness."
Philippians
3:8 "Yea doubtless and I count all things but loss for the excellency
of the knowledge of Christ Emmanuel
my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things and do count them
but dung, that I may win Christ."
Isaiah
1:18 "Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your
sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
Though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."
The knowledge of the
Great Infinite One contains great wisdom and depth:.Romans
11:33. There are important
keys to understanding this knowledge book we call the Bible
that one needs to know if he or she is spiritually inclined.
Probably
the greatest psychology book ever written will give you wisdom. Lack
of knowledge in any
area can be crippling
when and if circumstances come along where the right knowledge would be
helpful.
Psalms
111:10 "The fear of the Lord
is the beginning of wisdom. A good understanding have all they that do
his commandments ('his commandments' is not
in the original, so it is referring to those that 'fear'
Him); praise stands forever." 2Peter
1:8 "For if these things be in you and abound, they make you that you
shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Emmanuel
Christ."
The Bible is for our
learning to give us hope,
not confusion, not a guilty feeling of being
under God's disapproval, but hope!
To learn, one has to be subject.(original
Greek is 'adapt to do').or
willing to be doing what he wants to learn:.Titus
3:1.
If one is willing to do all
he can.(Ecclesiastes
9:10).regarding
love
and good works toward others, he or she will
gain a high position in the family of God, or the Kingdom
of God, just as one would in
a modern day corporate environment.
Thus the importance
of acceptance first.
Study makes you hot!.Luke
24:32; Acts 18:24,25,28;
Titus
2:14. If we are believers, we have help in understanding the scriptures.
Use it. Luke 24:45.
I prefer the
King James
Version. By now I am used to its thee's, thou's, ye's, saith's and
other 1600's type language. And it does seem to have an alive flavor to
it. At least I think so. And after much study of the original word meanings,
the feeling comes across that the translators back then really did their
best in being as accurate as known then how to be.
Rather than keep revising
the Bible with so many different
translations, it is better to simply re-read it. Learn it! It
is the same with reading any book. The first time you are little more than
aware of the words. The second and subsequent times, one becomes aware
of new things and deeper meaning.
Emmanuel
opened the scriptures to those with Him back then:.Luke
24:32. Do you think that from heaven He is still able to do this and
for us today?
Isaiah
28:9,10,13 tells us that to begin on the road to understanding His
word and move on to perfection, a desire to move deep, beyond the basics.(Hebrews
5:13-6:2) and into the depth is needed because we don't go where we
don't want to go. Desire it and see what happens!
We cannot know Him unless
He has given us an
understanding: 1John 5:20. If
you lack it, ask for it! For those believing
the Bible it is easy! Once
you believe it, more understanding comes:.1Thessalonians
2:13 "...the word of God, which effectually.(effectively).works
also in you that believe."
Faith is required to understand
spiritual things:.Hebrews
11:3..My
experience. And one cannot believe it unless God opens the mind. If
you're interested in it, God has opened your mind to an understanding of
it! He wants a relationship with you! Apart from one's mind being
opened, one just can't search and find out a true understanding of God;
one just never gets any personal light out of it:.Isaiah
40:28.
We have the
gift
of belief and His word will abides in us. Some have this not as yet:.John
5:38.
Why is it important to study:.Titus
1:9; Matthew 10:38; Ephesians
1:18 "The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may
know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory
of his inheritance in the
saints."
1Thessalonians
5:21 "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
