Acts 18:1,2 After these things Paul departed from Athens and came to Corinth...And found a certain Judean named Aquila, born in Pontus, who recently came from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because that Claudius Caesar had commanded all Judeans to depart from Rome and came unto them.
Amtract Dictionary: Pontus became a province of the Roman Empire. Many Judeans resided there and from time to time went up to Jerusalem to get together with others. Aquila (Acts 18:26) was a native of Pontus.
Acts 18:3 And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them and wrought, for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
Paul worked.(Acts 20:34; 1Corinthians 9:18).so as not to be a burden to those he traveled far four times to reach them with the information on the kingdom of God.
Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath and persuaded both the Judeans and the Greeks.

Acts 18:5 And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit.(Paul was intuitive, feeling strongly about what he should do).and testified to the Judeans that Emmanuel was Christ.

Acts 18:6-8 And when they opposed themselves and blasphemed, he shook his raiment and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean. From henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles...And he departed thence and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue...And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house and many of the Corinthians hearing believed and were baptized.

Acts 18:9,10 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak and hold not your peace. For I am with you and no man shall set on you to hurt you, for I have much people in this city.

Acts 18:11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

Acts 18:12,13 And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, those infiltrators who called themselves Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat, Saying, This fellow persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.
Note the control by these satanic ones using religion in order to accuse others:.Revelation 12:10.
Acts 18:14-16 And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto those calling themselves Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O you Jews.(not true Judeans, but in name only), reason would that I should bear with you.(not the same Sosthenes as in 1Corinthians 1:1 to hear you out), But if it be a question of words and names and of your law.(as today, such illegal made up 'laws' by the controllers, have their own laws, mandates, rulings, statutes, etc. to charge you with to get money), look you to it, for I will be no judge of such matters.(this judge wasn't corrupt as many judges in today's justice system are) . And he drave them from the judgment seat.(kicked them out of court).

Acts 18:17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes.(not the same Sosthenes as in 1Corinthians 1:1), the chief ruler of the synagogue and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio.(the Roman governor).cared for none of those things.

Acts 18:18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while and then took his leave of the brethren and sailed thence into Syria and with him Priscilla and Aquila, having shorn his head in Cenchrea for he had a vow.

Acts 18:19 And he came to Ephesus and left them.(Priscilla & Aquila).there but he himself entered into the synagogue and reasoned with the Judeans there.

Acts 18:20 When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;

Acts 18:21 But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that comes in Jerusalem. But I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.(map).

Acts 18:22 And when he had landed at Caesarea and gone up and saluted the church.(said hello to those there), he went down to Antioch.

Acts 18:23 And after he had spent some time there, he departed and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening.(original is also 'making stable', that is, contributing his efforts and time with a view to increasing their stability in Christ, such as toward the 4 spiritual disciplines:.Romans 11:14; 1Corinthians 9:22).all the disciples.
What was Paul's foremost.thrust in his travels? see 1Corinthians 9:22.
Acts 18:24 And a certain Judean named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

Acts 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of the Lord and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

Acts 18:26 And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue, whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
Comprised with Bible Dictionaries:.Aquila was a Judean born in Pontus:.verses 1-3. He was a tentmaker by occupation, who with his wife Priscilla joined with other Christians at Rome. When the Judeans were banished from that city by the emperor Claudius Caesar (Acts 11:28), Aquila and his wife eventually retired to Corinth, where Paul, who was also a tentmaker, first met them, becoming the companions of Paul in his spiritual work. On Paul's departure from Corinth after eighteen months, Aquila and his wife accompanied him to Ephesus, where they remained while Paul proceeded to Syria. In Ephesus, Aquila and Priscilla were able to add greater comprehension of the scriptures to this man named Apollos (Acts 18:24-26, just above). Aquila and Priscilla were still at Ephesus when Paul wrote.1Corinthians 16:19. They are mentioned by Paul with much commendation:.Acts 18:1,3; Romans 16:3,4. In Paul's last epistle he remembers Aquila and Priscilla:.2Timothy 4:19.
Acts 18:27 And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him, who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace.

Acts 18:28 For he mightily convinced the Judeans and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Emmanuel was Christ.
John 5:39; Luke 24:27; Acts 18:5; the only scriptures they had at this time were the ones in the Old Testament, so which ones were these?
