the tough parts. You're here! You might as well dance! Tough times never
last, but tough people do!
Good places to eat and get
food in Calgary: The Saskatoon Farm. Just south of Calgary a bit.
No admission charge. Look it up first.
Fresh bananas grown right
there. It's a little town they built themselves. Here you can buy long
lasting plants they grow with healthy methods, meaning no pesticides or
other '...cides', no chemical
fertilizers and are non GMO, etc. Have an ice cream cone, they make their
own from scratch
and walk through the grounds.
They use ground up wood chips
from their own trees on the property. They have a huge restaurant
that lines up by 10 am most days and they are open all days of the week
winter through summer and fall. Sometimes and because the entire place
is so beautiful, weddings are booked mostly on a few Saturdays and
they close to the public that day, so check with them before heading there.
They are open 8-5pm every day of the year, except as I said, for the occassional
and mostly in summer weddings. They have wonderful tasting food, all from
their own organic gardens. Besides their homemade ice cream, there's pies,
tarts and lots of goodies from them baked fresh daily. Here also are antique
and unique items and 'ages gone by' furniture to see. They are busy, so
go early and plan to spend a day there. There is also so much to see inside
the buildings in the way of antiques and unique imported goods.
At the end of the road in
their little town are astounding valley views to sit and take in while
you relax. You'll love it!
For an excellent organic
foods supermarket with a restaurant in it 
where
you can have lunch, go to the very busy.Community
Natural Foods; 3 locations in Calgary;
restaurant is in the downtown location, but cooked foods available in all
locations, like as for lunch or supper take out. Amazing selections in
the food section from all over the world, including local fresh products.
Macrobiotic,
Ayurvedic,
organic
ice cream, organic oils, organic coffees, organic meat, organic chicken
and fish, organic specialty breads produced locally, organic foods for
restrictive diets, safe laundry soap for clothes and detergents for dishes,
etc. It's all there, including an abundant range of high quality vitamins
and even wood utensils. It's a large place and very interesting.
A good restaurant in Calgary,
the
Taj Mahal. Some of the best East Indian food around.
