-Emmanuel quiets
a storm:.Matthew
8:23-27 "And when he was entered into a ship, his disciples followed
him. And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that
the ship was covered with the waves, but he was asleep. And his disciples
came to him and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us. We perish. And he saith
unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose and
rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. But the men
marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and
the sea obey him!" Mark
4:35-41 "And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them,
Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude,
they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him
other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves
beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part
of the ship, asleep on a pillow. And they awake him and say unto him, Master,
carest thou not that we perish? And he arose and rebuked the wind, and
said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased and there was a
great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that
ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another,
What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?" Luke
8:22-25 "Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a
ship with his disciples. And he said unto them, Let us go over unto the
other side of the lake. And they launched forth. But as they sailed he
fell asleep. And there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they
were filled with water and were in jeopardy. And they came to him and awoke
him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose and rebuked the wind
and the raging of the water, and they ceased and there was a calm. And
he said unto them, Where is your faith? And they being afraid wondered,
saying one to another, What manner of man is this! For he commandeth even
the winds and water and they obey him."
-Emmanuel turns water into
wine:.John
2:1-12 "And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee and
the mother of Emmanuel was there. And both Emmanuel was called and his
disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine,
the mother of Emmanuel said unto him, They have no wine. Emmanuel said
unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee?.(was
not a term of disrespect in the language back then:.John
19:26,27) My hour is not yet come.
His mother said unto the servants, Whatsoever he says unto you, do it.
And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the
purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins.(a
small wooden barrel or covered vessel, usually equal to about 1/4 of a
barrel or 9 gallons or 34 liters).apiece.
Emmanuel said unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled
them up to the brim. And he said unto them, Draw out now and bear unto
the governor of the feast. And they bare it. When the ruler of the feast
had tasted the water that was made wine and knew not whence it was.(where
it came from), but the servants which
drew the water knew, the governor of the feast called the bridegroom and
said unto him, Every man at the beginning sets forth good wine and when
men have well drunk, then that which is worse is brought out. But you have
kept the good wine until now. This beginning of miracles did Emmanuel in
Cana of Galilee and manifested forth his glory and his disciples believed
on him. After this he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his
brethren and his disciples and they continued there not many days."
-Emmanuel walks on water:.Matthew
14:22-27 "And straightway Emmanuel constrained his disciples to get
into a ship and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the
multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into
a mountain apart to pray. And when the evening was come he was there alone.
But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves. For the
wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Emmanuel went unto
them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the
sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for
fear. But straightway Emmanuel spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer;
it is I; be not afraid."
Mark
6:45-52 "And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the
ship and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away
the people. And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain
to pray. And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea and
he alone on the land. And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was
contrary unto them. And about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto
them, walking upon the sea and would have passed by them. But when they
saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit and cried
out. For they all saw him and were troubled. And immediately he talked
with them and saith unto them, Be of good cheer. It is I, be not afraid.
And he went up unto them into the ship, and the wind ceased. And they were
sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered."
Mark
6:52 "For they considered not the miracle of the loaves, for their
heart
was hardened.(original,
'covered as with a callous).John
6:16-21 And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the
sea, And entered into a ship and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And
it was now dark and Emmanuel was not come to them. And the sea arose by
reason of a great wind that blew. So when they had rowed about five and
twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Emmanuel walking on the sea and drawing
nigh unto the ship. And they were afraid. But he said unto them, It is
I, be not afraid. Then they willingly received him into the ship. And immediately
the ship was at the land whither they went."
