In this day every
man's work.(and
idle words).will
be 'manifest' or as the original has it 'brought to the light':.Matthew
20:1-16 "For the kingdom
of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which went out
early in the morning to hire labourers into his vineyard. And when he had
agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard.
And he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the
marketplace and said unto them, Go you also into the vineyard and whatsoever
is right I will give you. And they came to help too. Again he went out
about the sixth and ninth hour and did likewise. And about the eleventh
hour he went out and found others standing idle and said unto them, Why
stand you here all the day idle?.(they
obviously were so down on themselves that they couldn't even bring themselves
to go and ask if there was some work needing to be done). They
say unto him, Because no man has hired us. He said unto them, Go you also
into the vineyard and whatsoever is right, that shall you receive. So when
even was come, the lord of the vineyard said unto his steward, Call the
labourers and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first.
And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received
every man a penny. But when the first came, they supposed that they should
have received more and they likewise received every man a penny. And when
they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house, Saying,
These last have wrought but one hour and you have made them equal unto
us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. But he answered one
of them and said, Friend, I do you no wrong. Did not you agree with me
for a penny? Take that is yours and go your way. I will give unto this
last, even as unto you. Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with
mine own? Is your eye evil, because I am good? So the last shall be first
and the first last. For many be called, but few chosen."
Matthew
21:28-31 "But what think you?.(who
is the 'you' being talked about here?).A
certain man had two sons. And he came to the first and said, Son, go work
to day in my vineyard. He answered and said, I will not, but afterward
he repented.(changed
his mind).and
went. And he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and
said, I go, sir and went not. Whether of them twain did the will of his
father? They say unto him, The first. Emmanuel said to them, Verily I say
unto you, that the publicans
and the harlots go into the kingdom
of God before you."
2Timothy
4:8 "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown
of righteousness, which the Lord, the
righteous
judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto all them
also that love his appearing."
Most will be unaware of this
day coming:.Matthew
24:38,50 "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating
and drinking, marrying
and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe.(Noah).entered
into the ark...The
lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looks not for him and
in an hour that he is not aware of.".Be
alert to His coming and be ready:.Matthew
25:13 "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein
the Son of man comes."
Many Christians look forward
to the day of the Lord. They probably mean it as the time when the Creator
sets up
His Kingdom on Earth:.Zechariah
14:9 "And the Lord shall be king over all the Earth. In that
day shall there be one Lord and his name one."
The real 'day of the Lord'
is not a happy day:.Amos
5:18 "Woe unto you that desire the day of the Lord! To what end is
it for you? The day of the Lord is darkness and not light." Zephaniah
1:15 "That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a
day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day
of clouds and thick darkness."
This
was
a sad day, but:.Psalms
30:5 "For his anger endures but a moment. In
his favour is life. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in
the morning." Lamentations 3:22,23
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions
fail not. They are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness."
Jude
1:6
Creator has a plan to turn
the unrighteous to being righteous.
The plan was completed with the death, burial
and resurrection of Emmanuel:.John
19:30.
And, God knows how
to save even the severely wicked.
Christ is the light and the
fire:.Malachi
3:2,3 "But who may abide the day of his
coming?.(as
we are all unrighteous of and by ourselves). And
who shall stand when he appears? For he is like a refiner's fire
and like fullers' soap. And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.
And he shall purify the sons of Levi.(religious
leaders).and
purge them as gold and silver that they may offer unto the Lord an offering
in righteousness."
It is saying that He.(Ephesians
2:10 "For we are his workmanship.....").will
make them righteous by His grace
and mercy; that is, once they see the
need for it.
Malachi
3:17 "And they shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when
I make up my jewels. And I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son
that serves him."
Revelation 15:4
"Who shall not fear thee, O Lord and glorify thy
name? For you only are holy. For all nations come and worship before you.(when
and because).your
judgments are made manifest."
A more accurate translation
would be."Who
shall not fear thee, O Lord and glorify thy name?"
Also showing the Creator's
thinking:.Isaiah
2:11,12 "The lofty looks of man shall be humbled
and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down and the Lord alone is exalted
in that day. For the day of the Lord of hosts is upon every one that is
proud
and lofty and upon every one that is lifted up and he is brought
low."
