If the Great Infinite One, we commonly refer to as God is so rich in mercy for all mankind, why does most of the world think of God as ready to punish and throw people in a hell fire? Somebody out there teaching an alternate gospel?

Matthew 5:7 "Blessed are the merciful for they obtain mercy."

Mercy is not coming down hard on someone when it's justified to do so. Mercy is kindness or good will towards the miserable and the afflicted joined with a desire to help them. We have all been afflicted by results of living from the ego level of consciousness.

Micah 7:18. "Who is a God like unto you that pardons iniquity and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retains not his anger for ever.because he delights in mercy."

Deuteronomy 8:16 "Who fed you in the wilderness with manna, which your fathers knew not, that he might humble you and that he might prove you, to do you good at thy latter end.".God designs circumstances to improve us. He is the master potter.

Exodus 34:6 "And the LORD passed by before him and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering and abundant in goodness and truth."

Deuteronomy 7:9 "Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations."

Ephesians 2:4,7 "But God who is.rich in mercy for his great love wherewith he loved us, that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Emmanuel."

Luke 23:34 "Then said Emmanuel Father forgive them for they know not what they do....."

Why is this Invisible Intelligence merciful?.Ecclesiastes 3:20 "All go unto one place, all are of the dust and all turn to dust again." Ecclesiastes 12:7 "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was.(what we call death).and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it." Psalms 103:14 "For he knows our frame, he remembers that we are dust." Psalms 103:8 "The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and plenteous in mercy."

Ephesians 2:1-22 "And you has he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins. Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience and among whom also we all had our conversation.(Old English for word 'conduct').in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ. By grace you are saved. And has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Emmanuel. That in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Emmanuel. And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Emmanuel Christ himself being the chief corner stone,  in whom all the building fitly framed together grows unto an holy temple in the Lord. In whom you also are built together for an habitation of God through the Spirit."

Isaiah 54:6-10 "For the LORD has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit and a wife of youth, when thou were refused, saith you God. For a small moment have I forsaken you, but with great mercies will I gather you. In a little wrath I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on you, saith the LORD your Redeemer. For this is as the waters of Noah unto me, for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with you, nor rebuke you. For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that has mercy on you."

Isaiah 57:15-19 "For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth, for then should their spirit fail before me and the souls which I have made. For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth and smote him. I hid me and was wroth and he.(the people).went on frowardly in the way of his heart. I have seen his ways and will heal him. I will lead him also and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips.(they'll be saying how wonderful it is to be in peace); Peace, peace to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith the LORD and I will heal him."

Isaiah 49:10 "They shall not hunger nor thirst, neither shall the heat nor sun smite them, for he that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them."
Romans 11:32 "For God has concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all."

Are there sins.(sin means missing the mark).that cannot be forgiven? Are there people who just are so bad they are unforgivable? No! But there are people that are so bad to themselves that they just can't forgive themselves, preferring instead to remain the victim of their memories and worries over the future, unable to use memory.(or you wouldn't find your way home at the end of the day), but rather, allowing their memories to abuse them.

Mercy is a character quality that is good, kind, forbearing and favorable to another and has with it compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to one subject to one's power. One example from history:.Luke 6:36 "Be you therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful." Proverbs 14:21 "He that despises his neighbour is sinning, but he that has mercy on the poor.(the poor, the afflicted, the needy, the weak, the lonely, the meek), happy is he."

Zechariah 7:9,10 "Thus speaks the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment and show mercy and compassions every man to his brother. And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart."

The reason why we need mercy and have opportunity for expressing mercy to others is because we.all.do that which is wrong. 

Be like the Creator is:.Lamentations 3:22 "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not."

Instead of being upset with someone because they have done wrong.(like, who hasn't done wrong and has another upset with him?), view it as an opportunity to be merciful and forgiving.

Forgiveness is being willing to accept what another is willing to correct about himself and/or his actions which brought less than loving results into life. Forgiveness toward self is willingness to correct oneself coupled with actions providing for change:.Psalms 99:8 "...O LORD our God, you were a God that forgave them, though you took vengeance of their inventions.(Ecclesiastes 7:29)."

But do we forgive even if they are unrepentant, even if they are still the same? Certainly! Forgive those who are sorry for what they have done:.Luke 17:3 ".....If your brother trespass against thee, rebuke him and if he repent.(changes), forgive him.(treat him as though nothing ever happened).".See how a forgiving attitude can affect those you may be dealing with:.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14

This is akin to what Emmanuel said.(Matthew 5:39).regarding not resisting evil:.Luke 17:4 "And if he trespass against you seven times in a day and seven times in a day turn again to you saying, I repent.(I'm sorry, please forgive me), then, forgive him." 1Corinthians 4:12,13 "...being reviled we bless, being persecuted we suffer it ... being defamed we intreat.....".If the Creator says this, is He not like the negatives mentioned here?

But if we don't resist evil, won't it proliferate, won't it make it dangerous in society? All evil is for pressure to turn to God. This was the entire story of all the happenings in the Old Testament, which we are supposed to learn from:.1Corinthians 10:11.

This is because everything in your life is a reflection of your heartfelt feelings and this because everything is one.

But how can you be sure you are free of an unforgiving attitude of resentment. And more importantly, how can one be sure that he is forgiven?.Ephesians 4:32.

We all do bad things and wonder why later we did them. "Why did I do a thing like that?" "I didn't mean to do that." "What on Earth made me do it?" Have you said or heard any of these? Why we are like that.

Mercy has always been the Creator's character:.Genesis 8:21. Here God makes a decision about man after having considered the overview of his life. 

In the ancient Holy of Holies in the Old Testament, in the innermost part of the ancient temple or tabernacle was a Mercy Seat,.not a judgment seat

Forgiveness is the act of forgiving or, 'giving for' another that which keeps him in a right stead with you after he or she has done something to separate the relationship, something that has hurt you.

Forgiveness involves the giving up of resentment, granting relief from payment of.(forgive a debt, forgive a hurt). Ask yourself deep inside for forgiveness to come forth, to blossom in your present moment. And what if I again get hurt?

Law has no mercy. Law demands a penalty. Law is based more on regulations than love. With law comes a searching for wrong, a negatively inclined measurement stick. That is why Christ destroyed the Old Testament law.forever and a lot of laws today should be in the same category.

Judgment.can.have much mercy. A kind heart seeks for ways to show mercy. Mercy is of God. Many court judges have much mercy. One showing mercy is showing the very character of the Almighty God who is forgiving, merciful and kind. 

The Creator allows much but deals with peoples' errors through others who adhere to high character principles.

A November 1997 case that was in the news showing mercy was that of Joanne Woodward and the judge that had the courage to follow what he felt inside, in spite of so many thinking otherwise. This judge, Hiller Zobel in Massachusetts, obviously felt strongly about his insight, sensing the sureness of what he felt that would be of benefit to another. Type into Google for the story. Another example from ancient times:.1Kings 3:16-28.

The Creator can and does work in human beings who have decided upon higher character qualities. This helps to expose many others to mercy, compassion, kindness and forgiveness. 

We as spiritual persons, called Christians.(Acts 11:26).in the Holy Bible, should be praying for such people in power.(1Timothy 2:1-6), that they will have the wisdom to make decisions to the benefit of those concerned. Many leaders are doing their best for the cause of peace for all

The President of the United States of America, the Premier of the Province of Alberta, the Prime Minister of Canada and leaders in other high positions that you know of and those in other countries where you may live need your prayers.

Perhaps if the people in ancient times had prayed for King David, horrible weaknesses that he had would not have had such a negative effect upon him.

Strong leaders often come with strong weaknesses. Would you rather have a weak leader?
