1Chronicles 4:9,10 And Jabez.(means 'sorrowful', 'affliction', 'grief').was more honourable than his brethren.(the Jewish writers talk of Jabez being highly regarded and well versed in Old Testament law; a town apparently was named after him:.1Chronicles 2:55. Jabez was a good man who nonetheless had a sad life {perhaps because of how his brothers were to him}, that is, until he asked God to "bless him indeed"). And his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. And Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah and his brethren, of the house of his father, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the gates of the tabernacle and their fathers, being over the host of the LORD, were keepers of the entry.

1Chronicles 9:21-23 And Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. All these which were chosen to be porters in the gates were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by their genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer did ordain in their set office. So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of the LORD, namely, the house of the tabernacle, by wards.(divisions).

1Chronicles 9:26-31 For these Levites, the four chief porters, were in their set office and were over the chambers and treasuries of the house of God. And they lodged round about the house of God, because the charge was upon them and the opening thereof every morning pertained to them. And certain of them had the charge of the ministering vessels, that they should bring them in and out by tale. Some of them also were appointed to oversee the vessels and all the instruments of the sanctuary and the fine flour and the wine and the oil and the frankincense and the spices. 1Chronicles 13:10 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzza and he smote him.(2Samuel 6:6,7)), because he put his hand to the ark and there he died before God.

1Chronicles 13:11-13 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzza, wherefore that place is called Perezuzza to this day. And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me? So David brought not the ark home to himself to the city of David.(known today as Jerusalem), but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

1Chronicles 13:14 And the ark of God remained with the family of Obededom in his house three months. And the LORD blessed the house of Obededom and all that he had.

1Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.(*).

1Chronicles 16:9 Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him, talk you of all his wondrous works.

1Chronicles 16:10-24 Glory you in his holy name. Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.(*). Remember his marvelous works that he has done, his wonders and the judgments of his mouth, O you seed of Israel his servant, you children of Jacob, his chosen ones. He is the LORD our God. His judgments are in all the earth. Be you mindful always of his covenant, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations, even of the covenant which he made with Abraham and of his oath unto Isaac and has confirmed the same to Jacob for a law and to Israel for an everlasting covenant, Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance. When you were but few, even a few and strangers in it. And when they went from nation to nation and from one kingdom to another people, He suffered no man to do them wrong. Yea, he reproved kings for their sakes, Saying, Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm. Sing unto the LORD, all the earth. Show forth from day to day his salvation. Declare his glory among the heathen, his marvellous works among all nations.

1Chronicles 16:25,26 For great is the LORD and greatly to be praised. He also is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the people are idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

1Chronicles 16:27-29 Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place. Give unto the LORD, you kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.(God wants us to be strong in Him). Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name. O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good, for his mercy endures forever. And say you, Save us, O God of our salvation and gather us together and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to your holy name.(that is, that you are holy with all that means).and glory in your praise. Blessed be the LORD God of Israel for ever and ever. And all the people said, Amen and praised the LORD.
