David.(David in archaeology), more than any other physical human.(and King Hezekiah was close).being in the Old Testament comprehended the mercy, forgiveness and application of his Creator's gift of righteousness to him and the fact that when enemies are come against you, it is the Creator who is behind it:.2Samuel 16:11,12. David was a man hot for God.

David lived.B.C.E. 1085 to 1015.

When you see the phrase 'house of David', it refers to those now living who were of David's lineage, a man no one ever forgot.

When you see the phrase 'key to the house of David', it refers to Revelation 3:7

When you see the phrase 'throne of David', it refers to David being king, a forerunner of the greater king, Christ, having come out of the lineage of David.(Matthew 1:6-16; Acts 2:30), who would also sit on a throne over all the Earth:.Matthew 25:31 "When the Son of man shall come in his glory and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory." 2Thessalonians 1:10 "When he shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired in all them that believe..."
Isaiah 2:17 "And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down and the haughtiness of men shall be made low and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day."
Luke 1:32 "He shall be great and shall be called the Son of the Highest and God shall give unto him the throne of his father David."

Ancient David was a good king:.2Samuel 8:15 "And David reigned over all Israel and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people.".David's son Solomon picked up on his dad's wisdom in judging:.1Kings 3:16-28.

David had a great reputation among all that knew of him:.2Samuel 7:8,9 "...I took thee from the sheepcote.(a pen for sheep), from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people...I was with thee whithersoever you went and have cut off all your enemies out of your sight and have made you a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the Earth."

2Samuel 8:15 "And David reigned over all Israel and David executed judgment and justice unto all his people."

David became hot for spiritual things:.Jeremiah 29:13. He meditated much. Get a free Bible program and search for the word meditation. David's words on meditation are in the listings of the Psalms that will come up in your search.

And he did some really bad stuff. After the absolutely horrible things David did, he comes to an unusual feelings of God's depth of love for him. No wonder he was hot for God!

Psalms 42:1,2 "My soul thirsts for the living God's appearance.(or, original can mean, 'God's face'; David was very interested in knowing all about this Great Infinite Being, is what the scripture means)?"

Creator chose David for a specific purpose back then:.Psalms 78:70-72 "He chose David also his servant and took him from the sheepfolds, from following the ewes.(full grown female sheep).great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people and Israel his inheritance. So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skilfulness of his hands."

The Creator had David anointed to be king:.1Samuel 16:1-13.

The Creator made a covenant, an agreement with David:.2Samuel 7:16.

David.(and even Darwin later).was very forgiving and respectful of others.

Vladimir Putin, President of Russia is very respectful of others.

Saul was always out to get David. It's what jealousy will do to an individual.

King Saul was afraid.(1Samuel 18:12).of David and had tried to kill.(1Samuel 18:10,11).David before and was pursuing him again:.1Samuel 26:9,23 "And David said to Abishai, Destroy him not, for who can stretch forth his hand against the Lord's anointed and be guiltless?.....for the Lord delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch forth mine hand against the Lord's anointed.".David had ample opportunity to kill Saul, but he respected him and was kind to him:.1Samuel 24:1-21.

David had great respect for the king and the king's son, so much so that he would not lift a finger against them, even though the king was out to get David.(king Saul's son, Jonathan, was a close friend of David). David was not an avenger.

He knew the Creator takes care of these things.(Romans 12:19), lesson being, if someone wrongs you and you did nothing to cause it, God will take care of it. David even had one of his men kill the individual who killed the wounded king, Saul.

David, a great leader, however, was not forgiving of those who harm others that the Creator cares about:.1Kings 21:2-29; 2Samuel 1:1-17; 2Peter 2:12

In this way David was like Joshua:.Joshua 10:28-42. Lesson being, you don't screw with God's people and win, ever! Emmanuel's example of what he thought of the ruling corrupt side:.Matthew 23:2-33.

One is either all out for God or out for the evil dark satanic side. One out for God as David surely was, can still lapse, as he did when he just 'had to have Bathsheba'. But David bounced back, stronger spiritually than before. Is there ever a time the true God would not forgive? Nope!

David took time for God:.2Samuel 7:18.

David had many children when he lived in Hebron.and more when he lived in Jerusalem:.1Chronicles 3:1-9.

David had many mighty warriors with him:.2Samuel 23:8-39.

The Amalekites had taken all the things from the people who were with David while he and his men were away, so David took the men who felt they were still able to go on another journey to recover everything and went after them. Upon arriving back home, the men who had gone with David, felt they should not share in  all the stuff they brought back that belonged to the Amalekites. They felt they should keep these things for themselves.

It was a 'you didn't come with us to help, so the stuff is all ours' attitude. But David didn't think selfishness of any kind should be rewarded. The story:.1Samuel 30:1-31.

You would think that David's descendents would not want others to become aware of the fact that they have descended from a murderer.(*). Consider then God, who arranged for Emmanuel to come out of the lineage of.David!.Matthew 1:1; Romans 1:3. What forgiveness is that! And who really crucified Emmanuel?

David handed his son Solomon good advice:.1Chronicles 28:1-8.
