Psalms 39:1 To the chief Musician, even to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue. I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me..(1Peter 3:10,15)

Psalms 39:2.3 I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good and my sorrow was stirred.(in some situations we just don't know what to say or if we should even say anything; this can cause us sorrow, affecting our emotions). My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned; then spake I with my tongue.(be careful what you say and how you say it:.1Peter 3:10,15),

Psalms 39:4 LORD, make me to know mine end and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

Help me to see how temporary is the physical existence so I can be mindful of the reality of why I'm here.

Psalms 39:5 Behold, you have made my days as an handbreadth and my age is as nothing before you. Verily every man at his best state is altogether.vanity. Selah.

Each of us, when we are at the top of our game, feeling the best we could possibly feel, should heed David's words above in verse 4.

Psalms 39:6 Surely every man walks in a vain show. Surely they are disquieted in vain. He heaps up riches and knows not who shall gather them.(better to live life this way:.Matthew 6:33).

Psalms 39:7-10 And now, Lord, what wait I for?.(what am I doing here here on Earth). My hope is in you. Deliver me from all my transgressions. Make me not the reproach of the foolish. I was dumb. I opened not my mouth because you did it.(David felt strongly at the time to refrain from speaking). Remove your stroke away from me. I am consumed by the blow of your hand

David felt he should have spoke in the situation, but didn't and he felt it worked out not for his good and felt the way he was at the time was a like a blow from God; David was so sincere that he was silent even if it wasn't the best for him to be that way at the time; his heart was down and at this time and he was feeling his spirit was dashed; David was in a funk.

Psalms 39:11 When you with rebukes correct man for iniquity you make his beauty to consume away like a moth.(no one likes to think that the way they have been is wrong, why:.Proverbs 14:12; it makes his countenance be that not of enthusiasm). Surely every man is vanity. Selah.

Psalms 39:12,13 Hear my prayer, O LORD and give ear unto my cry. Hold not your peace at my tears, for I am a stranger with you and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence and be no more.

Psalms 40:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD and he inclined unto me and heard my cry.

Psalms 40:2,3 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock and established my goings. And he has put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God. Many shall see it and fear and shall trust in the LORD.

Psalms 40:4 Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust and respects.(original for word 'respects' implies 'a turning toward', as one would if wanting to follow another's example).not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

Psalms 40:5 Many, O LORD my God are your wonderful works.(what wonderful works?).which you have done and your thoughts which are to usward. They cannot be reckoned up in order unto you. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

What are God's thoughts toward us?

Psalms 40:6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire.(Hebrews 10:1-9); mine ears have you opened. Burnt offering and sin offering have you not required..(if.the mind back then and even later in the time of the early New Testament, had been receptive to important spiritual things such as judgment, mercy and faith, the myriad other do's and don'ts could have been dispensed with:.Matthew 23:23)

Psalms 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come. In the volume of the book it is written of me,

The scriptures written of Him back then were in scrolls; they were parts of scripture specifically.referring to the prophesies of Him.

Psalms 40:8 I delight to do your will, O my God. Yea, your law is within my heart..(David and others way back in time here saw the fallacy of physical do's and dont's regarding spiritual matters {Matthew 12:3-7; Psalms 119:18; 119:165}, but the people back then didn't and neither do many religious people today)

Psalms 40:10 I have not hid your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great congregation.

Similar as Emmanuel spoke to the multitudes so many centuries later:.Matthew 13:2; Luke 8:4.

Psalms 40:12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about. Mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of mine head. Therefore my heart fails me.

Psalms 41:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David: Blessed is he that considers the poor. The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

Psalms 41:6 And if he come to see me, he speaks vanity. His heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he tells it.

Psalms 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.(Acts 1:16)..(?)

Psalms 41:13 Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

Psalms 42:1 To the chief Musician.(*), Maschil.('maschil' is a song or poem of contemplation), for the sons of Korah: As the hart.(a male deer).pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul after you O God.

Psalms 42:2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God when I come and appear before God?.(this occurs in meditation).

Psalms 42:3 My tears have been my meat day and night while they continually say unto me Where is thy God?.(waiting for God's help in his life)

Psalms 42:4 When I remember these things I pour out my soul in me, for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

Psalms 42:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? and why are you disquieted in me? hope you in God, for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance.

Psalms 42:6-10 O my God, my soul is cast down within me, therefore will I remember you from the land of Jordan and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. Deep calls unto deep at the noise of your waterspouts. All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me. Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime and in the night his song shall be with me and my prayer unto the God of my life. I will say unto God my rock, Why have you forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me while they say daily unto me, Where is your God?

Psalms 42:11 Why art you cast down, O my soul? And why art you disquieted within me? Hope thou in God. For I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance and my God.

Psalms 43:3 O send out your light and your truth.(how does one do this?). Let them lead me. Let them bring me unto your holy hill and to your tabernacles.

Psalms 44:1 To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, Maschil.(*): We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.

Psalms 44:2,3 How you did drive out the heathen with your hand and planted them. How you did afflict the people and cast them out. For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them, but by your right hand and your arm and the light of your countenance, because you had favour unto them.(why? because He has an overall plan for mankind:.1Corinthians 2:9).

Psalms 44:4 You are my King, O God. Command deliverances for Jacob.

Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, today, is a spiritual Israel.

Psalms 44:5-20 Through you will we push down our enemies. Through your name will we tread them under that rise up against us. For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. But you have saved us from our enemies and have put them to shame that hated us.(examples: 2Kings 19:32-35; 2Chronicles 20:15-28). In God we boast all the day long and praise your name for ever. Selah. But you have cast off and put us to shame and go not forth with our armies. You make us to turn back from the enemy and they which hate us spoil for themselves. You have given us like sheep appointed for meat and have scattered us among the heathen. You sell your people for nought and do not increase your wealth by their price. You make us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us. You make us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people. My confusion is continually before me and the shame of my face has covered me, for the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger. All this is come upon us, yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way; Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons and covered us with the shadow of death. If we have forgotten the name of our God or stretched out our hands to a strange god;

Psalms 44:21 Shall not God search this out? For he knows the secrets of the heart..(Psalms 69:5; Jeremiah 32:19; Hebrews 4:13; 1John 3:20)

Psalms 44:22 Yea, for your sake are we killed all the day long. We are counted as sheep for the slaughter.(Romans 8:36).

Psalms 44:23-26 Awake, why are you sleeping, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever. Why do you hide your face and forget our affliction and our oppression? For our soul is bowed down to the dust. Our belly cleaves unto the earth. Arise for our help and redeem us for your mercies' sake.

Psalms 45:1 To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, for the sons of Korah, Maschil.('maschil' is a song or poem of contemplation), A Song of loves: My heart is inditing.(original is to keep moving; moved; stirred).a good matter. I speak of the things which I have made touching the king. My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

Psalms 45:7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows..(quoted in the New Testament in Hebrews 1:9)

Psalms 46:1 To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth.(a song about young women): God is our refuge and strength, a very present help.(Hebrews 13:5).in trouble.(but ask {Matthew 7:7} and know God is right there).

Psalms 46:4 There is a river.(the river of the Soul flows into those attuned), the streams whereof make glad the city of God.(God's city is His habitation, His kingdom and where is that?), the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.

God shall help her and that right early.

Psalms 46:6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved. He uttered his voice, the earth melted.

Psalms 46:7 The LORD of hosts is with us.("is with us" not in original; truth is, it's us); the God of Jacob is our refuge.(or 'defense'; in other words, when in the same consciousness as God, what have you to ever fear?). Selah.

Psalms 46:8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he has made in the earth.

Psalms 46:9 He makes wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and cuts the spear in sunder. He burns the chariot in the fire.

Psalms 46:10,11.Be still and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Psalms 46:10,11.Be still and.(better translated 'Be still know God' and since the Creator is a family of high consciousness beings, it's really saying to be still and know your true source, your reality; that is, in the stillness you know there is a powerful and good presence right there).know that I am.(words "that I am" not in original).God. I will be exalted among the heathen.(true consciousness is rising everywhere thanks to those who meditate), I will be exalted in the earth.(and is already affecting the earth for good). Psalms 49:4 I will incline mine ear to a parable. I will open my dark saying.(a saying somewhat.difficult in comprehending).upon the harp.

JPS translation:."Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my supplanters compasses me about.".Luke 10:19 "...nothing shall by any means hurt you."

Psalms 49:6 They that trust in their wealth and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches.

They trust not in God, but in the wealth they have to keep them going in life and keep them from and get them out of troubles; they have no good character substance to them; their substance is their riches:.Matthew 16:25,26 "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"

Psalms 49:7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother.(talking spiritually now), nor give to God a ransom for him.(how can Earthly riches enable one to get favors from God?).

Psalms 49:8,9 For the redemption of their soul is precious and it.(the redemption).ceases for ever.(the thing that lasts forever is one's soul once redeemed), that he should still live for ever and not see corruption.(1Corinthians 15:53,54).
