1Corinthians
10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that you should be ignorant, how
that all our fathers were under the cloud.(Exodus
13:21,22; 14:19,20).and
all passed through the sea.(Exodus
14:21,22);
1Corinthians
10:2,3 And were all baptized.(a
form of baptism with water surrounding them).unto
Moses
in the cloud and in the sea.(Exodus
14:21,22); And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
1Corinthians
10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink.(called
'spiritual drink' because God caused water to
come out of the rock). For they drank of that spiritual
Rock that followed them. And that Rock was Christ.
This
eternal being called Christ, is the one who created all things (Ephesians
3:9; Revelation 4:11) out
of the intelligent
invisible energy of what the
Bible
calls, the Father, using the power
or energy of the Holy Spirit, because the
Spirit, this energy, is of the true God and maintains
all in the multiverse.
Christ was the one who was with the Israelites coming out of 430 years
of bondage in Egypt,
protecting them with a cloud:.Exodus
13:21; Numbers 10:34; Nehemiah
9:19.
1Corinthians
10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased. For they were
overthrown in the wilderness.
Numbers
14:22,23; 32:11,12. They
allowed their life's focus to wander from an original decision to draw
close to the true God:.James
4:8.
1Corinthians
10:6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not
lust.(*).after
evil things.(*),
as they also lusted.
1Corinthians 10:7 Neither be you idolaters, as
were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink
and rose up to play.
1Corinthians
10:7 Neither be you idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written.(Exodus
32:6), The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.
They left off
their focus of God who had just took them out of bondage and was paving
the road to a better life for them. They started to live mostly selfish
advantages in pleasure pursuits, not service and help to others or finding
out why they were on the Earth in the first
place. They would rather play than pray for others, such as the military
God was using to keep them in the state of freeness they obviously were
in. Such is the normal way of humanity today, but what was it like in the
time of Moses?.Exodus
17:11. And what to do about it?.1Peter
2:21.
1Corinthians 10:8 Neither let us commit fornication,
as some of them did and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
1Corinthians
10:8 Neither let us commit fornication.(Barnes
Notes:."The
case referred to here was that of licentious
intercourse.{an
orgy
with no concern for anyone but one's immediate selfish sexual satisfaction}.with
the daughters of Moab, referred to in Numbers
25:1-9."), as some of them did
and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
Numbers 25:9
states one thousand more, why?
1Corinthians
10:9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted and
were destroyed of serpents.
Numbers
21:6.
1Corinthians 10:10 Neither murmur you, as some of
them also murmured and were destroyed of the destroyer.
1Corinthians
10:10 Neither murmur.(anything
said against another discontentedly.complaining
in a low tone of voice:.Philippians
2:14; John 6:43).you,
as
some of them also murmured and were destroyed of the destroyer.(Hebrews
2:14).
These people
started on the
negative
road and by doing so opened the door to their own destruction, where an
evil
lunch was prepared. As soon as you realize that you are getting off
track, get yourself back on! If not you're keeping the door open for influencing
by the dark side, which is able to amplify negatives you have chosen to
be in your mind. That's why these people ended up as they did. Don't you
be like that!
Who was this
destroyer having the power of death?.Hebrews
2:14.
The
side you pick to be on by your attitude. One way leads to life and
the other into the ways of the dark side toward destruction; depends what
you focus on in this dynamic universe that responds accordingly to all
that's consistently felt to you as true.
1Corinthians 10:11 Now all these things happened unto
them for examples and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the
ends of the world are come.
1Corinthians
10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for examples.(lessons
for us today).and they are written
for our admonition (original means 'to set a
place in the mind'; in other words, so that we would learn from them and
what we learn becomes us, our heart, out of which comes our actions and
our heart and actions can clean the mass mind of evil, how?;
one of the lessons for today is if you live the way you normally may want
to, expect problems in life:.Proverbs
14:12), upon whom the ends of the world.(original
for word 'world' is 'age'; it's now the end of the age of evil over the
Earth and the time now of the kingdom of
the real, true, everliving God and you're in this time, so choose wisely,
how?).are
come.
Referring to
what Emmanuel had prophesied.(Matthew
24:1,2).regarding
the destruction of Jerusalem in that time of 70 A.D. by the Romans, which
was back then, soon
coming to pass.
1Corinthians
10:12 Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
1Corinthians 10:13 There
has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man but God is
faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able
but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that you may be
able to bear it.
1Corinthians
10:13 There has no temptation.(original
is also 'trial' and 'an enticement to take one to the
dark side', that is, 'to engage in fear or
some other evil which at the time seems easier than trusting in the
great good God we have, whether what may be now occurring to you arose
from
desires or from outward
circumstances, it's 'something that tries
an individual', 'a trial' in one's life:.1Peter
1:7).taken you but such as is common
to man.(Proverbs
14:12).but God is faithful who
will not suffer.(allow).you
to be tempted.(original
is same as the words 'temptation' in this verse).above
that you are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape.(and
one
way that could be).that
you may be able to bear it.(original
for word 'bear' is 'to bring forth' (Matthew
10:19,20), 'to bring light to pass', 'to break away', 'to endure',
'to go through it':.1Peter
1:7).
That is, carry
it, do what
you
can about it, stand up for what rights
you may have and
endure
what it may take and always be praying and remember it may take three specific
askings of God, before an answer comes 1,
2.
God turns what
you may be suffering under, into good:.Genesis
50:20; Romans 8:28.
How Paul stood
up for his rights:.Acts
22:22-29; 23:27.
Why stand up?.Proverbs
20:22. Because it will make you more
fit for the Kingdom of God.coming
now to reign here
on Earth and part of that is
accepting, not denying what it is
that you are. And what it is that you are is a warrior of God. Learn to
stand up as warriors do:.Ephesians
6:11-19; 2Corinthians 2:14.
1Corinthians
10:14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
1Corinthians
10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of
the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion
of the body of Christ?
Communion
was having fellowship with others who also believed what Christ came to
Earth for and that was to die for humanity, so they could live eternally,
that is, once humanity awakens
to that fact.
1Corinthians
10:17 For we being many are one bread and one
body. For we are all partakers of that one bread.
James
3:9-12.
1Corinthians
10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice,
they sacrifice to devils.(Ezekiel
23:39; devils are called
familiar
spirits in the Old Testament).and
not to God. And I would not that you should have fellowship with devils.
1Corinthians
10:21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of
devils. You cannot be partakers
of the Lord's table and of the table of devils.
You
can't be living your life following both these
things:.Matthew
6:24; James 3:9-12.
1Corinthians
10:23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient.
All things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
Matthew
Poole's Commentary:."Even
in the use of things lawful we should consult the good of others."
1Corinthians
10:24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another's welfare.
Word
'welfare' not
in original. It was added by translators, who inserted it in old English
times, in the 1600's:.Phillipians
2:3,4. That is, don't be out to selfishly set
up what seems good just for you and at the same time disregards
the welfare of others. Take a lesson from Trump's
actions.
1Corinthians
10:26 For the Earth is.(word
'is' not in original but implied).the
Lord's and the fulness thereof.
Exodus
19:5. Original is 'for Earth Lord fulness
him' (*). In
other words, it's all God. The Creator, God, is all
there is.
1Corinthians
10:27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast and you be
disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for
conscience sake.
1Corinthians
10:28 But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto
idols, eat not for his sake that showed it and for conscience sake. For
the Earth is the Lord's and the fulness thereof.
1Corinthians
10:29 Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other. For why.is
my liberty judged of another man's conscience?
Some
religious people judge others as being right or wrong according to their
set of adopted beliefs, which may be 'out to lunch'.
1Corinthians
10:30 For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for
that for which I give thanks?
1Corinthians
10:31 Whether therefore you eat or drink or whatsoever you do, do all
to the glory of God.
1Corinthians
10:32 Give none offence, neither to those of Judah, nor to the Gentiles,
nor to the church of God.
James
3:2; 1Corinthians 8:13.
1Corinthians
10:33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking mine own
profit, but the profit of many that they may be saved.
Original
Greek for word 'saved' here is 'sozo'
and means 'made whole', that is, awakened
to the true stance
of living.
