1Peter
2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice
and all guile
and hypocrisies
and envies and
all evil speakings.
Barnes
Notes: Ths words 'evil speakings',
in the original
Greek occurs only here and in.2Corinthians
12:20, where it is rendered.'backbiting',
which includes all unkind or slanderous
speaking against others.
1Peter
2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere
milk of the word.(*),
that you may grow
thereby.
1Peter
2:3 If so be you have tasted that God is gracious.
1Peter
2:4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men,
but chosen of God and precious.
1Peter
2:5 You also, as lively stones, are being a built up spiritual house,
an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices.(one
is and others
are; note it says spiritual sacrifices, not those things based upon
a lot of physical religious do's & don'ts as was the case in Old
Testament times with the Mosaic Law),
making one acceptable in becoming as God is, through.(or
'by' or by means
of, as the original can also mean).Emmanuel
the Christ.(*).
1Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the
scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious
and he that believes on him shall not be confounded.
1Peter
2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay
in Sion
a chief corner stone.(Psalms
118:22,23; Isaiah 28:16; Matthew
21:42; Acts 4:11), elect,
precious and he that believes on him shall not be confounded.(or,
as the original has it for word 'confounded', 'ashamed', that is, you won't
be sorry later for believing in this stone which is Christ, as probably
has happened to you with believing in other things in your life that you
may have accepted as being true, such as 'I told others to invest in this
great deal I got into, which eventually turned to nothing' or 'vaccinations
are safe, be sure to get yours')
This
New
Testament quote."not
be confounded".is
actually from the Old
Testament, from Isaiah 28:16,
where the original there is."not
make haste", as one would if he was in fear,
such as fears of losing out on something, so one better act now. It is
saying that when you trust the Great Infinite One, fear
of anything, if it still exists in you, is to show you that your trust
in Him needs to increase and as trust in Him increases so does more
guidance come to you for making decisions or not to make decisions.
1Peter
2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious, but unto them
which be disobedient.(original
for 'disobedient' is 'unable to believe', why
was this?), the stone.(verse
6).which the builders disallowed,
the same is made the head of the corner,
1Peter
2:8 And a stone of stumbling and a rock of offence, even to them which
stumble at the word, being disobedient.(verse
6), whereunto also they were appointed.(wasn't
their time yet).
1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation a royal
priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that you should show forth
the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous
light.
1Peter
2:9 But you are a chosen.(what's
these chosen?).generation.(original
'kind', a specific.group
of high consciousness
people), a royal
priesthood,
an holy nation, a peculiar.(original
is 'purchased into God'
{by Christ:.1Corinthians
6:20;
Ephesians 1:7,14; Colossians
1:14; Hebrews 9:12; Revelation
5:9;
Luke 1:68; 24:21;
Galatians
3:13; Hebrews 9:15; Romans
3:24; 1Corinthians 1:30;
1Peter
1:18,19; Revelation 1:6; Psalms
74:2; Acts 20:28}).people,
that you should show forth the praises.(positive
things; avoid
negatives, follow Christ's example {*}).of
him who has called you out
of darkness into his marvelous light.
2Corinthians
3:16.
1Peter
2:10 Which in time past were not a people.(not
a people of God), but are now the people of God, which had
not obtained mercy, but now has obtained mercy.
1Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved I beseech you as strangers
and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which
war against the soul.
1Peter
2:11 Dearly beloved I beseech
you as strangers.(Hebrews
11:13).and pilgrims.(not
of this world), abstain
from fleshly lusts.(these
lower based consciousness things are not of the higher consciousness Soul
level but of the ego level; they
keep a lock on the door to higher
consciousness living, the solution of which is, being
good).which
war against the
soul.(that is,
they
cut you off from it).
1Peter
2:12 Having your conversation.(word
'conversation' is old English for 'conduct').honest
among the Gentiles.(who
are the 'Gentiles' today?), that, whereas
they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which
they see, glorify God in the day
of visitation.
It'll
make a difference to them once
their mind is open to the true God. But
when?
1Peter
2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance
of man for the Lord's sake; whether it be to the king, as supreme;
Hebrews
13:17.
Many today
of man's ordinances,
types
of laws used, etc., are totally corrupt and of Satan and surely would
not be adhered
to 'for the Lord's sake'.
1Peter
2:14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment
of evildoers and for the praise of them that do well.
But
the question is, 'Do such authorities as the king, governors, the crown,
prime ministers, etc. punish evildoers?' and they don't when evildoers
include themselves. And the second question is, 'Do these authorities praise
those who do well? and again, they don't, as events for years have shown
that when truth on anything is chosen, it is to ignored by them and they
even persecute and lie about those same truths that would improve society,
heal the sick, make it easier on the people, etc., examples.
And so:.Acts
5:29 "Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought
to obey God rather than men.".And
what
then?
Romans
12:18 "If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with
all men."
1John
5:19 "And we know that we are of God and the whole world lies in wickedness."
1Peter
2:15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing.(well
doing:.Matthew
5:16).you may put to silence
the ignorance of foolish men.
The
way one is, speaks louder than what he says:.Matthew
7:16,20.
Proverbs
15:1 "A soft answer turns away wrath but grievous words stir up anger."
1Peter
2:16 As free and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness,
but as the servants of God.
Romans
6:15 "What then, shall we sin because we are not under the law,
but under grace? God forbid."
1Peter
2:17 Honor all.(Philippians
2:3). Love the brotherhood. Fear
God. Honor the king.(but
what
if he's not honorable?).
Show
respect to all people. If God doesn't want them here, He can have them
taken out and in doing
so, God uses good people to do that. So have some wisdom in considering
what is in front of you that you have to deal with;.example
from Christ's life on Earth.
1Peter
2:18 Those in whose home you may be staying, get in line with their
ways of doing things, respecting them whether they are good and gentle
or froward.
Paul
traveled a lot and would often be asked to stay with others he met on his
journeys.
1Peter
2:19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure
grief, suffering wrongfully.
1Peter
2:20 For what glory is it, if, when you be buffeted for your faults,
you shall take it patiently? But if, when you do well and suffer.(on
word 'suffer' please see verse 21).for
it, you take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
Words
"acceptable with God" in the original are "grace
of God"; it helps you to be patient,
when you decide to be and that builds your good character and that counts
toward a reward for you.
1Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were you called, because
Christ also suffered for us and also left us an example, that we
should follow his steps.
1Peter
2:21 For even hereunto were you called, because Christ also suffered
for
us.(Isaiah
52:14).and also left us an example.(1Timothy
6:13), that we should follow his steps..(?)
What examples
did Christ show us?.Matthew
5:44.
1Peter
4:1.
Hebrews
5:8.
Original for
word 'suffered' is 'to be affected by', 'to feel', 'to have empathy
and passion over what His mind had compassion
about' and 'experienced both good and evil' (Hebrews
5:14) and 'to undergo in a good sense and in a bad sense'. In other
words he lived life, he experienced life and was affected
by it. More on word 'suffer'.
What steps?.1John
3:16.
His experiences
were for an example for us, one example was
His
compassion for others, another was His
lessons for us:.1Corinthians
10:11.
People were no longer shut out or shoved
away, such as they were by others motivated at the
ego level:.Matthew
19:13,14; 23:4. He suffered,
that is, he experienced for us (Hebrews
2:10) in order to leave an example of living love no matter what
(Matthew 5:44,45) and what
example did He leave?.1Peter
4:1,2. We are not here for the purpose of suffering:.James
5:10)
Follow His
steps means folllow His example, His example of spirituality, of love and
kindness, not that you should suffer as He did in the flesh; that was 'once
for all' and once was sufficient:.Hebrews
10:10.
1Peter
2:22 Who did no sin, neither was guile
found in his mouth.
1Peter
2:23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled
not again; when he suffered he threatened not, but committed
himself to him that judges righteously.(or
'delivered righteous judgement', looked at things in life from a
higher consciousness point of view).
1Peter
2:24 Who his own self bare
our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, now being dead
to sins, should live.(original
'now live').unto righteousness.(that
is, because of His righteousness); by whose stripes.(*).you
were healed.(or
as the original also has it 'made whole').
1Peter
2:25 For you were as sheep.(Matthew
10:6).going astray,
but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
What
is this 'returning'?.2Timothy
1:9.
