Do not avoid the Sun, but
break into a tan gradually
as is commonly advised, such as, first day in the Spring you can take some
time for the Sun. Do just 5-10 minutes. Next time, listen to your body
and maybe take the same time or increase it a few minutes. Do similarly
any days that follow until the tan shows and do the same thereafter until
you feel comfortable in the Sun.
Don't let enthusiasm
for a tan lead you into overdoing it. Always listen to your body.
What is ok for you may not be for others. Every skin is different in how
it reacts to
the Sun. Once one has a tan and depending on the Sun's strength from day
to day, one can spend much time out in it. I've spent 3 and more hours
in the Sun at one time, but again, you must work up to it. Like anything,
too much is not good. Learn to limit

Vitamin D is produced in
the skin from a cholesterol derivative, which is actually a type of hormone
that circulates in the blood and signals to cells through a receptor when
