Jacob,
Joseph's
dad is suffering the effects of a wide spread famine.(re:.God
looking after us in famine).and
sends almost all the sons still with him to Egypt, where he has heard there
is food to purchase:.Genesis
42:1-5. And that is where Joseph is! And Joseph is in charge of it
all. And his brothers do not now recognize him, so Joseph plays along,
even 'turning the tables' on them a bit:.Genesis
42:6-38.
The brothers having returned
home are forced by the famine to again go for more food:.Genesis
43:1-26. Joseph meets with them again and is overcome with emotion
in private, that is, keeps this from thm:.Genesis
43:22-31.
Joseph is still turning the
tables on his brothers and hiding his true identity from them and gets
them to explain a few things:.Genesis
44th chapter.
Joseph can hold the emotion
no longer and reveals himself to them and that it was God behind their
evil deed who turned it into good:.Genesis
45:1-8; Romans 8:28. All the
while Joseph had no animosity
toward his brothers, as he possessed and saw an overview of a much greater
picture:.Genesis
50:21.
Joseph invites all his family
to come to Egypt to be with him:.Genesis
46th chapter. Jacob lives in Egypt close to his son till his death
at 147 years of age:.Genesis
47:1-29.

leave a blessing on his.(Joseph's).children,
named Ephraim and Manasseh:.Genesis
48:9-19.

name was earlier changed to Israel).dies:.Genesis
50:1,2.
Joseph
dies:.Genesis
50:22-26.
Spiritual
people do get their share of trials:.Revelation
2:10; Philippians 1:29. But
for the hot ones, so what?.Revelation
12:11. What is your life
for anyhow?.James
4:14,15. Life is
short, so make the best of it that you can:.Ecclesiastes
2:24; 3:22. There's another
one for you.
-James
1:12: Why you should count it all joy.(James
1:2).when
you are 'goin' through it'?.Romans
8:17,18. Why should we be this way?.2Timothy
1:8
-Paul
went through enough trials to depress most anyone, but not Paul:.2Corinthians
1:8-10; Acts 20:19,31,34;
2Corinthians
6:4-10; Romans 5:3. And he had
even more hardships.
For example:.2Corinthians
11:23-27 "...in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in
prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.(often
in peril of death)...Of
the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. Thrice was I beaten
with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and
a day I have been in the deep. In journeyings often, in perils of waters,
in perils of robbers, in perils by my own countrymen, in perils by the
heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils
in the sea, in perils among false brethren. In weariness and painfulness,
in watchings.(difficulty
sleeping peacefully; had to be alert for dangers).often,
in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness."
What Paul really thought
of all these negatives coming on him from outside himself:.Philippians
3:8; 2Corinthians 4:17;
Romans
8:28.
Nothing
got him down.for
long! Why?
-Why does God allow us to
be afflicted?.Deuteronomy
8:3 and even abased?
And what does.Romans
8:17,18, 1Peter 2:21, Philippians 1:29 and Philippians 2:8 mean when
it seems to intimate
that we are also to suffer as Emmanuel did?
-What should we do when
afflicted?.James
5:13;.1Peter
3:14,17 ".....but and if you suffer for righteousness sake, happy are
you. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that you suffer for well
doing than for evil doing." Matthew 5:12
"Rejoice and be exceeding glad for great is your reward in heaven,
for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."
Matthew
7:21-23 "Not every one that says.(prays).unto
me, Lord, Lord, enters into the kingdom of heaven, but he that does
the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that
day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied
in your name? And in your name have cast out devils? And in your name done
many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew
you. Depart from me, you work iniquity.(original
Greek is 'lawlessness')."
What lawlessness? What command
are we not keeping very well? And, just how do we."walk
in truth"?.1John
4:21; 2John 1:5,6;.1John
4:17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in
the day of judgment.(Revelation
20:12); because as he is, so are
we in this world.
-Having trouble with depression
and
want to snap out of it?
-Worried about your state
of affairs?.Philippians
4:19 "But my God shall supply all your need.(drilling
down past the surface words the translators used here, the original for
word 'need' is 'to take for one's use' and how
is that done?).according
to his riches in glory by Christ Emmanuel.".So
it be that if you are in
God and Christ, what is there to worry about?
Composite of.Matthew
6:25-33 and.Luke
12:27-31 "Therefore I say unto you: Take no thought.(anxious,
worrisome thoughts; of course you have to shop; always use commonsense).for
your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor yet for your
body, what you shall put on.(because
God is in control).
Is not the life more than meat.(means
'food').and
the body than raiment.(clothing)?
Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor
gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much
better than they?.....Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow;
they toil not, neither do they spin. And yet I say unto you that even Solomon
in all his glory was not arrayed
like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field,
which to day is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much
more clothe you.(means
'look after what you need', not just clothing),
O you of little faith? Therefore take no thought,
saying What shall we eat, what shall we drink or wherewithal shall we be
clothed? For all these things do the nations of the world seek after. For
your heavenly Father knows that you have need of all these things. But
seek you first the kingdom of God and
His
righteousness and all these things 'shall be added'.(or,
'are added with that').unto
you."
