Calgary was named
after Calgary House.(Calgary
Castle).on
the Isle of Mull in Scotland. There,
the house overlooks Calgary Bay. Close to Calgary in the famous Rocky Mountains,
is the town of Banff, Alberta.(take
a
short video tour of the area),
a world reknown, beautiful and easy to get to city in the mountains, which
in summer has over 10 million visitors. Take in the
Glacier Skywalk.(the
pic). Many visitors in the winter too,
as roads are four lane and kept clear of snow. Skiing is main winter activity
in the Banff area.
Calgary means 'churning water'.
