27:1,2 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders
of the people took counsel against Emmanuel
to put him to death. And when they had bound him, they led him away and
delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.
27:3 Then Judas,
which had betrayed him.(the

condemned, repented himself and brought again the thirty pieces of silver
to the chief priests and elders,

And they said, What is that to us? see you to that.(that's
27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed
and went and hanged himself.(?).
27:6,7 And the chief priests took the silver pieces and said, It is
not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of
blood. And they took counsel and bought with them the potter's field, to
bury strangers in.
27:8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this

New Testament Notes:.to
show their great contempt
of and rejection
of him and his office and of God who had sent him, they gave him (gave
Judas) thirty pieces of silver, the price of a slave. This was thrown down
in the temple, taken by the priests and appropriated
to the purchase of a field owned by a potter, worn out and of little or
no value; all showing at how low a price, through the whole transaction,
the Son of God was estimated; from the beginning of time man just didn't
want God around:.Jeremiah
27:11 And Emmanuel
stood before the governor and the governor asked him, saying, Are you the
King of the Jews? And Emmanuel said unto him, You say.
27:12 And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered
27:13 Then said Pilate.(the
chief Roman ruler of the district of his jurisdiction).unto
him, Hear you not how many things they witness against you?
27:14 And he answered him to never a word, insomuch that the governor
27:15-17 Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the
people a prisoner, whom they would. And they had then a notable prisoner,
called Barabbas. Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said
unto them, Whom will you that I release unto you? Barabbas or Emmanuel
which is called Christ?
27:18 For he knew that for envy
they had delivered
27:19 When he was set down on the judgment seat his wife sent unto
him, saying, Have nothing to do with that just man.(speaking
here of Emmanuel, verse 15-17, above), for I have suffered
many things this day in a dream because of him.
27:20 But the chief priests and elders persuaded
the multitude that they should ask Barabbas.(ask
for Barabbas to be released).and
27:21 The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain
will you that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas.
27:22-23 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Emmanuel
which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified. And
the governor said, Why, what evil has he done? But they cried out the more,
saying, Let him be crucified..(a
of low consciousness people wanting the violence
of hurting another)
27:24 When Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather
was made, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying,
I am innocent of the blood of this just person; see you to it.(his
death is on your hands).
27:25 Then answered all the people and said, His blood be on us and
on our children.
27:26 Then released he Barabbas.(one
of two criminals who were also to be crucified
that day, along with Emmanuel ).unto
them. And when he had scourged
Emmanuel, he delivered him to be crucified.
27:27-29 Then the soldiers of the governor took Emmanuel into the common
hall and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped
him and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of
thorns, they put it upon his head and a reed in his right hand. And they
bowed the knee before him and
him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!
27:30 And they spit upon him and took the reed and smote him on the
27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from
him and put his own raiment on him and led him away to crucify him.
27:32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name
and him they compelled to bear his cross.
27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is
to say, a place of a skull,
27:34 They gave him vinegar
to drink mingled with gall. And when he had tasted thereof, he would
27:35 And they crucified him and parted
his garments, casting lots.(the
garments were of high quality so they decided to cut them into pieces and
used a means of selecting so each would have a choice); that
it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments
among them and upon my vesture
did they cast lots..(also

27:36 And sitting down they watched him there.
27:37 And set up over his head his accusation written, THIS IS JESUS
THE KING OF THE JEWS.
27:38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him.(Luke
23:39), one on the right hand and another on the left.
27:39 And they that passed by reviled
him, wagging their heads,
27:40 And saying, You that said destroy the temple and build it in
three days, save yourself. If you be the Son of God, come down from the
27:41,42 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes
and elders, said, He saved others. Himself he cannot save. If he be the
King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross and we will believe

known that it's the other way

27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him.
For he said, I am the Son
27:44 The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same
in his teeth.
27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land
unto the ninth hour.
27:46 And about the ninth hour Emmanuel cried with a loud voice, saying,
Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why
have you forsaken me?.(from
in Psalms 22:1)
27:47 Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This
man calls for Elias.
27:48 And straightway one of them ran and took a spunge and filled
it with vinegar and put it on a reed and gave him to drink.
27:49 The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to
27:50 Emmanuel, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded
up the ghost.
27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent.(split).in
the top to the bottom and the earth did quake and the rocks rent;
27:52,53 And the graves were opened and many bodies of the saints which
slept arose and came out of the graves after his resurrection.(immediately
Emmanuel rose, that is, His spirit:.Luke
23:46; his body didn't resurrect until after three days in the sepulchre;
but the vail was torn in half now, symbolizing
the way to the Creator-Father was fully open to what was now the Christ
and for those who would come to be in Christ, what's
that mean?).and went into
the holy city and appeared unto many..(the
graveyard was just outside the city of Jerusalem, often called the holy
27:54 Now when the centurion and they that were with him watching Emmanuel
saw the earthquake and those things that were done, they feared greatly
saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
27:55 And many women were there beholding afar off, which followed
from Galilee, ministering unto him.
27:56 Among which was Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and
Joses. And Salome, the mother of Zebedee's children also was with them.
27:57-60 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea,
named Joseph, who also himself was Emmanuel's disciple. He went to Pilate
'asked for'; like, why would they translate the original word to be 'beg'?).the
body of Emmanuel. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when
Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and laid
it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock. And he rolled
a great stone to the door of the sepulchre and departed.
27:61,62 And there was Mary Magdalene and the other Mary, sitting over
against the sepulchre.
Now the next day that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests
and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,
Clarke's Commentary: This next day following the day of preparation
was the seventh day or Saturday. What we term to be the evening of the
sixth or Friday, the Jews counted as one day as they commonly always had.
The Jews always ended their day when the Sun set and then began the next
right then in the evening of what we today call the evening of the same
day; the days therefor began and ended at sunset:.Mark
15:42 "And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation,
that is, the day before the sabbath.".Luke
23:54; John 19:31.
27:63,64 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver.(these
were the lowest of the low
consciousness people ever on Earth, in that, they knew they were lying,
they knew He was of the Creator and here for a special purpose, yet they,
because of their own greed and corruptness, denied the truth and even called
the Son of God a deceiver).said,
while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again. Command therefore
that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples
come by night and steal him away and say unto the people, He is risen from
the dead, so the last error shall be worse than the first.
27:65,66 Pilate said unto them, You have a watch. Go your way, make
it as sure as you can. So they went and made the sepulchre sure, sealing
the stone and setting a watch.
