The Apostle
Peter was rebuked
by Paul for falling into this 'other gospel' trap,
which was leading Christians away from the pure truth:.Galatians
2:7,8,11,14 "But contrariwise,
when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision.(the
Gentiles).was
committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision.(the
Jews).was
unto Peter, for he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostlehip
of the
circumcision,
the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles...But when Peter was come
to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed...But
when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the
gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If you, being a Jew, live after
the manner of Gentiles and not as do the Jews.(many
Jews were still following not just the onerous
ancient Mosaic Law, but they had added more actions they felt needed to
be more righteous, even though it
was completely abolished), why
are you compelling
the Gentiles to live as the Jews do?".It
says here that Peter was leaning toward appeasing
those of the circumcision, those who believed that they should adhere
to parts of the old
covenant laws, rules and regulations as laid down in the now done away
Mosaic Law.
The Apostle Barnabas was
also being affected:.Galatians
2:13 "And the other Jews dissembled.(original
'to act hypocritically with').likewise
with him, insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.".The
word 'dissimulation' here, in the original Greek, means 'being carried
away with the hypocrisy'.....of
those who proclaimed these alternate gospel things. How
do you come to know who, in their heart, is with you or against you?
Paul warns about them:.Philippians
3:2 "Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision."
Ephesians
4:14 "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro and
carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning
craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive."
These Christians were feeling
compelled to live as some
legalists
were then telling them, especially regarding keeping the Old
Testament.Mosaic
Law. See the Mosaic Law link for an in depth exposition
of how the laws of the Old Testament are not for Christians in their relationship
with their Creator and see
here to comprehend how many churches today corrupt the saints with
a deadly mix of law and grace.
In Old Testament times, God
wanted to have 'His people'. This is a lot like some churches today who
really fail to understand the Bible as a whole. They feel as though
'they' and they alone are 'standing up for God'. They no doubt feel as
they do because of what they have gleaned
from reading the Old Testament.
In Old Testament times there
was one people of the Creator and it was
not just the Jews. All others were called Gentiles
and they were excluded from the promises and blessings.at
that time.in
the overall plan of the Creator.
The Creator used Old Testament
times to show us, in modern times, a
contrast; a contrast between a group of low consciousness carnal
selfishly minded Old Testament people and New Testament believers who were
concerned for others. New Testament people have become what is known now
as Christians.
In the Old Testament people
did what was right in their own eyes.(Deuteronomy
12:8; Proverbs 12:15).or
basically, whatever feels good for them was ok for them to do. They got
forgiven
every year. In the New
Testament we do what is right for others.(Philippians
2:3; Romans 3:9),
having been
already forgiven.
In OT times because the people
were carnal, they needed a hero, someone that could be used as an example:.Judges
17:6. It is the same today.(come
and hear so and so speak, he's an apostle!; truly there is nothing
really new:.Ecclesiastes
1:9). Why not stay home and hear
God speak to you? How?
Paul
says those who teach
adherence
to a poisonous mix of new
covenant grace with old
covenant Mosaic Law are minding Earthly matters and castigates
them as dogs, evil workers.(again,
Philippians
3:2 "Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.{a
term used by Paul contemptuously
of those who were at that time back then, zealots
for circumcision}.").and
enemies of the cross of Christ:.Philippians
3:18,19 "For many walk, of whom I have told you often and now tell
you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ, whose
end is destruction, whose God is their belly.(selfish,
greedy, grasping {got to hurry and get for me, me, me}).and
whose glory is in their shame, who mind
Earthly things.".(Earthly
things are ordinary low consciousness ego ways of thinking downloaded from
the collective consciousness,
which is continually added to by all of us both low and higher consciousness
thinking people; humanity at the lower consciousness level must rely on
what comes to him from this invisible area of information and it comes
to him according to how he has his personal
radio tuned; in the absence of possessing higher consciousness tuning
he has to rely upon only what frequencies are available; attention to the
things
of the Creator are the things of higher consciousness, like resurrecting
others; seek the best tuning for yourself)
And what were the "Earthly
things" that they were minding? Were they smoking, drinking, sex, parties,
rough language? Were they 'having fun'? Were they 'having sin' still in
their lives"? No!
Some were bewitched into
developing their own righteousness as an alternate to the free gift
of righteousness Creator had already imputed
unto them. They just wanted to continue living life from where they were
at and without options beyond their current level of thinking and interacting
with life. Like many today, they have their own beliefs set from many years
of listening at the low consciousness level and they just don't want to
bother entertaining any new avenues
of life at this time.
Paul was saying that those
in Philippi who had turned to the high consciousness of Christ were going
back into that which was far lower in
stature
than Christ and even now
defunct;
that which was a mixture of low consciousness living with some of the ancient
Mosaic Law principles mixed with it. They were lacking the gumption
to take on the new way Christ
had brought.
Somehow they became duped
into thinking ancient principles
could get and keep them in a good
stead
with God while they, at the same time, could live as they please; the way
that they thought was the easier way; which it really wasn't. They were
just lazy and viewed that which was uncommon to them as requiring more
effort. They weren't really sold on the new way yet.
So, these ancient principles
were becoming uppermost in their minds and Christ and the grace He made
possible were becoming second place and even further on down the line.
They were developing their
own type of righteousness based upon the ancient law that was really all
gone
now. This crazy mixed up corruption would guarantee that they would
stay in a low consciousness state. They were into developing an organized
system of corrupt leadership to espouse
their corrupt religion,
just as the Pharisees
and Sadducees in Emmanuel's time had done.
Christ took a far greater
place.(Hebrews
7:19,22; 8:6).than
the old Mosaic Law ever could have had anyway:.Philippians
3:9 ".....not having mine own righteousness, which is of the
law.....".Probably
the one thing that was attractive to those in Paul's time who were now
espousing the Old Testament Mosaic Law, was they could live as they pleased
and have any sins wiped away once a year. They didn't see that under the
new
covenant all sin was gone as far
as the Creator was concerned anyway and the way was open now to the wonderful
life of high consciousness living, thanks to what Christ came and did:.Romans
6:14.
These early New Testament
people shortly after the resurrection of Emmanuel, were beginning to
mix law with grace, a deadly mix for one on a spiritual path. Where
law is, there is no grace because one is relying on the law for himself
to be correct in a relationship with God. And, where grace is, no law is
needed:.Romans
13:10; Galatians 5:18.
The true gospel reveals
the righteousness of the Creator to the
world:.Romans
1:16,17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the
power of God unto salvation to every one that believes. To the Jew first
and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed
from faith to faith.(one
grows in faith practicing spiritual
things). As it is written, The
just.(those
made
righteous by the blood of Emmanuel).live
by faith."
The 'transgression'.(sin).of
God's people today is that they do not see that they are righteous.(even
David
saw this and David had lots
of things wrong in his life back then).because
of Christ's righteousness applied to them as a gift:.Romans
5:17 "For if by one man's offence death reigned by one, much more they
which receive abundance
of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life
by one, Emmanuel the Christ.".How?
This myopic
approach toward true spirituality leads people to adopt a set of rules
and regulations which is the antithesis
of Christ's faith active in us. Instead such are they who walk 'by sight':.2Corinthians
5:7 "For we walk by faith, not by sight.".They
walk having to always monitor
actions by the do's and don'ts they believe they should take into account,
instead of by the freedom of the spirit, which negates
worry over actions:.Romans
13:10. All one needs be concerned about in living their life is the
freedom of the spirit:.James
2:12; Romans 8:2.
Consequently,
some feel or believe in their heart that they are unrighteous, especially
so, seeing sin still in their lives like a plague and they are bewildered
and/or ashamed. This is evidence that they have the wrong gospel:.Romans
9:33 ".....whosoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed."
Religion often uses the do's
and don'ts out of the Old Testament to bind
followers. These types of religious followers.(Matthew
15:14; Luke 6:39).have
all but given up thinking for themselves.(Acts
17:11), unable to fully comprehend
what it means to
live from the law of love in their heart.
But,
when
one loves, he needs no rules and
regulations:.Romans
13:10 "Love works no ill to his neighbour; therefore love is the fulfilling
of the law." 1Timothy 1:5 "Now
the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart and of a good
conscience and of faith unfeigned." James
3:11,12 "Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and
bitter?" Matthew 7:17,18,20
"Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings
forth evil fruit..A
good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can
a
corrupt tree bring forth good fruit...Wherefore by their fruits you'll
know them."
Matthew 12:35 "A
good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things
and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.".So
one has to carefully see into others. Higher consciousness gives one this
intuition.
Lacking power needed to
move
from weaknesses, a person becomes alienated from the Creator, alienated
from His words and alienated from His
guidance.
What
I do.
