Galatians
5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us
free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage..(what
was this yoke of bondage?)
Galatians
5:2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if you be circumcised,
Christ shall profit you nothing.
Galatians 5:3 For I testify again to every man
that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.
Galatians
5:3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised.(or
tithes, or whatever part or parts of the Old Testament Mosaic Law he or
she may adopt, thinking that this will make him righteous), that
he is a debtor to do the
whole law.
Paul here emphasizing
that why would you want to now feel that it would be a necessity to keep
any of that old stuff such as was circumcision and tithing,
ten commandment keeping (1,
2,
3,
4)
etc., as we are now in the new era, the era that
began with the death and resurrection of Emmanuel
the Christ, the era that began when Christ now made it possible by means
of the holy nature of the Great Infinite One, the
Creator-Father that He referred to so often as His Father, to be part
of a much higher calling, that of being
a son of this Infinite One. It's just that some of the people way back
then were still feeling that they should be keeping at least the circumcision
part of the Old Testament law, similar to
today as some still feel that tithing
a percentage of income to the church is a requirement providing a blessing
if you do and a curse if you don't.
Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect if you
feel that you are justified by the law; you are then falling from grace.
Galatians
5:4 Christ is become of no effect if you feel that you are.(feel
you have to be).justified
by the law.(here talking
of those back then who still felt affinity
for the ancient Mosaic Law, in that they believed
they could be righteous
by keeping it, but can apply just as easily to any
law one may adopt
which abrogates
the truth of Christ); you are
fallen
from grace.
Galatians
5:5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by
faith.
A
much better translation would have been 'for spirits
of faith, the hope of
full
righteousness is assured'.
Galatians
5:6 For in Emmanuel the Christ.(what's
it mean to be 'in Christ'?).neither
circumcision.(Galatians
6:15; 1Corinthians 7:19).avails
any thing.(talking
of belief that one's works for self will gain him favor with the Creator:.Hebrews
11:6), nor uncircumcision, but faith works by love..(*)
Galatians
5:7 You did run well. Who did hinder you that you should not obey the
truth?
Galatians
5:9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump.
Galatians
5:10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none
otherwise minded. But he that troubles you shall bear his judgment, whosoever
he be.
Galatians
5:11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision.(a
practice described in the Old
Testament in order to be the people God chose, named the ancient nation
of Israel;
not at all required
any longer since all the old law has now gone
by the wayside) were under obligation
to adhere to
in order to be the people God chose; not at all required
any longer since all the old law has now gone
by the wayside), why do I yet suffer persecution? then
is the offence of the cross ceased.
Paul
is saying, that circumcision is nothing, that
is, it really has nothing to do with spirituality and neither is uncircumcision
anything in
that respect:.1Corinthians
7:18-24. But because of Jews still adhering
to the Old Testament law, Paul showed these things about circumcision/uncircumcision,
by having Timothy circumcised:.Acts
16:3..This
was to.allay
those Jews still firmly believing that circumcision was necessary to be
a person of God in
accordance with the Old Testament Mosaic Law.
Paul was saying
to those Jews there who were against him, that if he would tell them that
circumcision was still necessary in this new age of Christ, that wouldn't
even matter to them, as he would still be persecuted by them because they
were out to 'get him':.Acts
21:20,21,28. Those out to get him were using the ancient rite
of circumcision to trap Paul, so Paul is saying that even if I preached
circumcision, which he did in this case because the people there had been
influenced to think that is what was still a requirement to be a person
of God, that even then, those against Paul still would have found something
else to use against him, thus persecuting him by demeaning
him in front of the ones he was trying to bring the truth to:.Acts
16:5. Because the Jews felt Paul was wrong, they were out to discredit
him in any way they could. Nevertheless,
many of them believed the
gospel.(Acts
14:1).Paul
was teaching:.Acts
17:4-13.
Because it
mattered
to all those still believing in the Mosaic Law, Paul applied psychology
here, above in Galatians 5:11, similar in kind to when he did before, here.
Paul tried to keep the peace so the people would continue to progress spiritually,
so it was said 'the offence of the cross ceased'.
Galatians
5:12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.
Is
Paul saying that he would rather see others be
separate from those who had differing opinions? Yes. And why? Because though
some had true opinions as to the Old Testament Mosaic law, they were, in
this new era.of
Christ, no longer relevant
and the ones believing as
such, were troubling
the new babes in Christ, confusing and
upsetting
them and this would tend to halt their growth in spirituality. That is
why he said what he did in this verse.
Galatians
5:13 For, brethren, you have been called unto liberty; only use not
liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love
serve.(original,
'be a slave to').one another.
A
way to:.1Chronicles
16:9; Psalms 95:2; Colossians
3:16; James 5:13.
Galatians
5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Love
thy neighbour as thyself..(one
reaps
what he sows)
Galatians
5:15 But if you bite and devour one another, take heed
that you be not consumed one of another.
Consumed
with a growing dislike and even hatred toward another; learn to live peaceably:.Romans
12:18.
Galatians
5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit.(have
higher
consciousness thoughts.uppermost
in mind).and you shall not fulfil
the lust of the flesh.
The
fixations
we have where we 'just gotta have it', such
as the stubbornness
of our characters re
the physical things we deem
important, like a car, food, sex, you name it:.Matthew
6:25-34; James 1:14.
Galatians
5:17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against
the flesh. And these
are contrary
the one to the other, so that you cannot do the things that you would.
The
flesh is selfish and this hinders
one from having concern, caring, consideration and understanding of the
ways of life that are best for all:.Ephesians
4:18.
Galatians
5:18 But if you be led of the Spirit, you are not under the law.
Really
the Old Testament law was a law for low consciousness
people, like most of the laws of society today. These are selfish laws
in that one would measure himself by his adherence
to them, seeing at the same time that another person may not have been
quite as good. The Pharisees in the time of Emmanuel on Earth were like
that:.Luke
18:9-14.
The Old Testament
law was deficient
in that it couldn't change the heart:.Deuteronomy
5:29. This competition/measurement system bred self-concern, not love
toward others. Everyone wanted to be the best, for himself. Humans all
want the adoration of others. Everyone wants to be great, worshipped and
be first (others don't like to stay behind you when driving, they gotta
be ahead of you). It all comes from trying to be something you think you
should be, instead of realizing who you really are with the Creator and
being confident.(*).and
content that His way is truly the road to higher consciousness, where we
too can do the things that are
phenomenons.
How?
The New Testament era
brought in a better hope, which was Christ in us:.Hebrews
7:19;
Colossians 1:27; Philippians
2:2-4.
It was now,
in Christ's time, time to move on from the OT law that some were still
relying on as being correct for their lives, not seeing that a greater
thing, that of Christ being available, so surpassed the law as to pale
it into insignificance:.Acts
3:21.
Galatians
5:19 Now the works of the flesh.(explained
in
more detail).are manifest,
which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Galatians
5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife,
seditions, heresies,
Galatians
5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings and such like, of the
which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they
which do such things shall not inherit.(or
as the original also has it 'be an heir to').the
kingdom
of God.
They
are not in the high consciousness mentality it takes to be in the
family of high consciousness beings)
Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love,
joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Galatians
5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit.(Ephesians
5:9 "For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness.{all
that is good and kind.[short
little video on it]}.and
righteousness
and truth").is
love,
joy,
peace.(there's
no peace without unity and there's no unity without God and connection
to God, that's why there is a unified
field of spirit energy), longsuffering.(means
'patience'),
gentleness.(2Timothy
2:24, original for 'gentleness' is 'kindness';
an example of kindness
to others),
goodness,
faith,
meekness,
temperance.('self
control'), against such there is no law.(why?.Romans
13:10). And
they
that are Christ's.(those
having decided to live from His loving nature {all the qualities herein
mentioned, but as expressed individually, as we are all different [as every
face is different, so is every heart:.1Corinthians
12:6 "And there are diversities
of operations, but it is the same God which works all in all."];
the Infinite One does not want clones},
because individual decision brings that nature into expression in your
life).have
crucified
the flesh.(by
being in Him, being, becoming what the Infinite is, which is love,
believing in Him and this righteousness
comes forth).with
the.(or 'with
all its').affections
and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk
in the Spirit.(walk
in the spirit by being alert to guidance coming to you, how?)."
Galatians
5:23 Meekness, temperance, against such there is no law.
Laws
with their stipulated
penalties are made to protect one from evil which could potentially
be done by another; with the good things of the spirit, there is no need
for penalties:.Romans
13:10)
Galatians
5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the
affections and lusts.
Galatians
5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk
in the Spirit.(verse
16; James 1:16-20).
Galatians
5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying
one another.
