If one's work is
based upon the nature of love.(called
Christ
in us), he or she will have
a
reward. If not, Christ will cause
him loss so he will have gain:.1Corinthians
3:13-15 "Every man's work shall be made manifest, for
the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire and
the
fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's
work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss, but he himself
shall be saved; yet so as by fire."
1Corinthians
3:17 talks
of
spiritual defilement.(is
there really any other kind?), as verse
16 shows:.1Corinthians
3:16 "Know you not that you are the temple of God and that the
Spirit of the Creator dwells in you?"
A more accurate translation
of verse 17 would be.'If
any man defiles his temple of God, God allows him to be brought to nothing';
because he's then 'missing the
mark', the mark where things would start to go for him instead of against
him. And where does God stand
in all this?
If things didn't go bad when
apart from a relationship with our Creator, how would we ever learn that
God's
way is best? If you've never burnt your finger on a hot stove, you
probably would not have learned to keep your hands away.
The words 'defile and 'destroy'
here mean the same in the original Greek. This original is also the same
root for the word 'corruptible' as used in these scriptures:.Romans
1:23 "And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image
made like to corruptible
man and to birds and fourfooted beasts and creeping things." 1Corinthians
9:25 "And every man that strives
for the mastery is temperate.(exercising
moderation and self restraint in all things).
Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown.(to
get somewhere in life), but we, an
incorruptible."
1Corinthians
15:53.
1Peter
1:18,23 "Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible
things, as silver and gold, from your vain
conversation.(old
English word for 'conduct').received
by tradition from your fathers...Being born again, not of corruptible seed,
but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever."
Here it refers to physical
man as being and ending in corruption:.1Peter
3:4 "But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not
corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in
the sight of God of great price."

15:54 "...Death is swallowed up in victory.".When?
This
time is talked of in.1Corinthians
15:13 "But if there be no resurrection
of the dead, then is Christ not risen.".So,
it's at the resurrection of the dead. But in Christ you are dead
to what was going to cause you death:.Colossians
