-1Timothy 1:5 What is a good conscience and why is it worth having?

One of the heaviest things one can carry is a guilty conscience. That is because it makes it hard to live with one's self. It is just not worth holding onto guilt as it prevents one getting on the spiritual road to a better life which affects all. If one is desiring to be on the spiritual road of living, he or she therefor has a good conscience:.Hebrews 13:18 "...for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly."

Many think they can just pass off the wayward direction that has led them into more of what they really didn't want. To live with themselves with what they have done, the burden they carry is often left off thinking about instead of being dealt with. Perhaps when it does come to mind, a reasoning comes along with it that it 'wasn't that bad, I've seen others do worse', 'he/she deserved it anyway', 'I didn't pay 'em back as bad as they dished out' or 'the universe didn't strike me down for doing it'. 

The way of forgiveness and mercy is not sought by those who fail to think about what they have done:.Luke 18:9-14; Luke 23:34 "...for they know not what they do..."

They just don't see that Earth is the place of training, that is, the overall reason they are here on Earth in the first place.

They also fail to comprehend what Creator-God can do for them if they have been wronged by another:.Romans 12:19. They have also failed to realize any way to make atonement for negative actions.

But one feeling guilty wants to hide.

The 'word'.(John 1:1).is Christ consciousness in our hearts, the higher consciousness of the Father that Christ came to reveal.

How can our life be resurrected from the heartache of our past and the guilt it may have produced affecting our present?

Acts 24:16 "And herein do I.(Paul).exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God and toward men."
Hebrews 9:14 "How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Romans 9:1 "I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost."

Like we do with our kids, 'if you do all your chores and keep your room clean, we'll all go to the beach this weekend'. God did the same once he saw humans were not turning out so good. God gave them the commandments.(Exodus 20:1-17).and various other guidelines:.Exodus chapters 21 to 24:3.

And the people all agreed:.Exodus 24:3. God saw that the people should be kept reasonably busy and thought of a way to keep their minds on a spiritual symbol by requiring them to build and attend to it:.Exodus 25:1-10.and through to Exodus 31:18 were the instructions.

But they just couldn't do what they had agreed to. So, God made it more rigorous and had a system which hopefully would help the people adhere.to a way that would have been good for them:.Deuteronomy 28:1-14. The system was, if you do this, I'll do all these good things for you and if you don't, you're in trouble:.Deuteronomy 28:15-68.

The system God set up included a priesthood and the Mosaic Law, which itself was disastrous in its effect to help the people stay on track so they could be blessed.

It was hopeless! So, then time and time again after, God 'spanked them' and they would smarten up, but only for awhile. It was not just their natures that was the problem, but what the natures were subject to and that was influence by the dark side which kept taking them another step down and away from God:.2Kings 17:15 "And they rejected his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and his testimonies which he testified against them and they followed vanity and became vain and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them."

It all got to the point of the people hating God so much that they just didn't want anything to do with Him at all:.1Samuel 8:5-22. So, God got out of the way and went hiding.

Something had to be done. And it was. A new heart in them was needed and in Christ, that is now possible. Along with the normal heart subject to the ways of evil, there is this new heart right beside it:.Galatians 4:6.

The great apostle Paul of the New Testament called this ancient Mosaic Law a curse, which it was in the light of what the New Testament was all about.

All the world is a stage, even all the universe.(*).is a stage for His spiritual creation, for expressions of different types, but all is of the same energy, including.us.

Creator-God has an overall plan of education for eternity. The old covenant.(agreement).part of His plan was to show humanity his heart. Few understood that part of God's planning back then:.Deuteronomy 5:29.

Things changed from old covenant times to new covernant times. The old one was found to be a disaster. It was designed for a people with no heart for high consciousness things of the Creator.(?).and so it was gotten rid of. So, God learns as He goes along with us in this human drama, as we all do.

God did know what their heart would be like. It was a 'stacked deck'. He knew what they would be like in living. But they and all humanity has to come to the point of seeing it.(*).. They needed something else back then if they were to ever develop the same consciousness as God. Though God knew what their natures would be like, God was yet to learn how bad the results of those natures could be in the test of real life. God's plan back then was to show them their lack. He allowed all to happen back then as it did, combined with His reaction to it all. Why?

The Bible also says that we are to."work out our own salvation":.Phillipians 2:12.

Righteousness is a gift enabling man to see through the limited  ordinary consciousness of humanity and toward the higher consciousness of God. Ask for it. It's a gift freely available to all. 

Ordinary consciousness was necessary for all of us, as it's what has brought us to where we are today. In that way, it had a good purpose.
