There
are babes spiritually. Others, having grown up, have different degrees
of spiritual maturity: 1John 2:13,14.
1Corinthians
3:1 "And I,
brethren,
could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal,
even as unto babes
in Christ."
Psalms
8:2 "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings have you ordained strength
because of your enemies, that you might stop the enemy and the avenger."
Matthew
11:25 "At that time Emmanuel answered and said, I thank you, O Father,
Lord of heaven and Earth, because you have hid these things from the wise
and prudent and have revealed them unto babes."
"...although in truth, you
are a child, a child of God...out of pure sublimity."....Bruno
Gröning.
1Corinthians
3:1-3 tells us why one is a babe in Christ.
When there is
envying,
strife
and divisions, there is no unity, one
is carnal, at variance
toward things of his own good and any good he may have opportunity to do
for others.
Carnal is being too fleshly
minded, argumentative and not agreeable because one is arrogant,
too concerned over the physical, too selfish.
Many feverishly hold onto their opinions and some become downright stubbornly
antagonistic.
The
Book of Hebrews tells us that when we should be teachers.(patient,
kind, understanding and helpful, some of the things of
higher consciousness).we
have need to go back and be taught ourselves, like a baby needing milk,
who can't handle strong food without choking:.Hebrews
5:12 to 6:2 "For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have
need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oraclesof
God and are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat. For
every one that uses milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness, for
he is a babe. But strong meat belongs to them that are of full age, even
those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both
good and evil. Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ,
let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance
from dead works and of faith toward God, of the doctrine of baptisms and
of laying on of hands and of resurrection of the dead and of eternal judgment.
Some of us get choked on
what others say and react not as a patient person. We have a hard time
tolerating
others who believe
differently in our Creator than we do:.Ecclesiastes
4:2,3,13 "Wherefore I praised the dead which are already dead, more
than the living which are yet alive. Yea, better is he than both they,
which has not yet been, who has not seen the evil work that is done under
the sun...Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king,
who will no more be admonished."
The Pharisees
had the same problem.
