There is much the
Creator wants to give us, the most important of which is, the character
necessary for life in His family in a high position
for eternity. This involves the gift of His Holy
Spirit and
life's circumstances
to develop individual character. This is the time to qualify for a high
position:.1Corinthians
3:13 "Every man's work shall be made manifest. For the day shall declare
it, because it shall be revealed by fire;
and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is."
An individual too busy with
their
'fullness' of life is usually not too interested in his hereafter
yet
and generally takes little time for compassion
for others either. If the Creator specifically
wants to call that somebody now, circumstances
will occur in
order to redirect his or her life.
Anyhow, Job's story of God
speaking to him begins in chapter
38 after Job's friends.(previous
chapters in Job).all
tried to figure out just what on Earth went wrong in this fine man's life.
When looking at what
he was going through, Job's friends figured he had done something terrible
and was being cursed by the Creator. Some Christians today regard others
similarly.
Emmanuel
was viewed that way too:.Isaiah
53:4 "Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows, yet we
did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted." Luke
23:35 "And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them.derided
him, saying, He saved others, let him save himself if he be Christ the
chosen of God.
So Creator begins to talk
to Job and carries on for three chapters.
Then it's Job's
turn to reply.
Job says that
he now really knows this Creator and admits his prior understanding of
Him as being deficient:.Job
42:5 "I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear. But now mine eye
sees you.".Job
was saying that, I always knew you were around somewhere, but never felt
you were personally concerned with me or even others. Read all of chapter
42 and you'll see the lesson of Job's life written down for us, which
lesson is never to allow even your good works to interfere with your relationship
with God.
Job's captivity to Satan
was
abated.when.Job
prayed
for his friends and the Lord added twice what he allowed to be taken from
him while Job was learning the lesson God wanted him to learn:.Job
42:10 "And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed
for his friends. Also the Lord
gave Job twice as much as he had before."
But for a while it must have
been tough on Job. He felt overwhelmed:.Job
9:18 "He will not suffer me to take my breath, but fills me with bitterness.".What
was happening to Job just never seemed to stop, so much so, that Job says
that he can't get away from this long enough even to take a breath. And
so it must seem similar for us in times of
trials.
Creator knows what we can
take:.1Corinthians
10:13 "...God is faithful who will not suffer you to be tempted above
that you are able but will with the temptation also make a way to escape
that you may be able to bear it." Romans
8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that
love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
We need to trust
Him in that and not get discouraged.
Sometimes we
get all so wrapped up in what it is that we are doing that we leave off
a
relationship with the living Creator. What else is really and ultimately
important? We leave off this relationship because we are not actively receiving
the abundance in all areas of life God promised us, even giving us a gift
that we can use to get it all. God never
overrides us, so God made available a special gift for us to use to
get all God wants you to have.(John
10:10,11; 1Timothy 6:17).and
that's all and more than you could possibly imagine:.1Corinthians
2:9.
The Bible talks about
having a broken spirit. What does this mean? Does it mean to walk around
with your head hung down, depressed, as though there is nothing good about
you?.Proverbs
17:22 "A merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken spirit
dries the bones.".Original
Hebrew here for."broken".is
"wounded".
A broken spirit.(attitude).is
one that willingly and happily wants the Creator's guidance in life; a
spirit or attitude that realizes that its wounds can be permanently healed
by only Him.
A broken spirit is a wise
attitude that realizes that efforts
put into a physical life beyond efforts put into a spiritual life,
are efforts that rob one of an eternal reward:.Psalms
51:17 "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a
broken and a contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.".Original
Hebrew here for "broken".is."quench",
and."cause to
break".
A broken spirit
is the opposite of an arrogant and proud spirit.
Luke
14:11,14 "For whosoever exalts
himself is abased.(that's
because every negative attitude has another negative reaction that tags
along; in this case, exaltation of self brings along abasement).and
he that humbles himself is exalted.(and
here, a good attitude ensures a good result).
And you shall be blessed.....at the resurrection
of the just."
