2Samuel 14:7 And, behold, the whole family is risen against your handmaid and they said, Deliver him that smote his brother, that we may kill him, for the life of his brother whom he slew and we will destroy the heir also and so they shall quench my coal which is left and shall not leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the Earth.

2Samuel 14:11 Then said she, I pray thee, let the king remember the Lord your God, that you would not suffer the revengers of blood to destroy any more, lest they destroy my son. And he said, As the Lord lives, there shall not one hair of your son fall to the Earth.

2Samuel 14:14 For we must needs die and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither does God respect any person.(Acts 10:34); yet does he devise means, that his banished be not expelled from him.
2Samuel 14:14 For we must needs die and are as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again; neither does God respect any person.(is no respecter of persons); yet does he devise.means.(God is in control of all; trust Creator-God to keep you safe under any system you may be in; don't be out to change things even if they are not right and unfair, God is in charge {Romans 12:18,19 "If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves..."} and that includes the ones who live by evil means), that his banished be not expelled.(original for words 'banished' and 'expelled' is 'drive away', that is, trust the Creator and lean not to your own solutions:.Proverbs 3:5,6).from him..(words 'from him' not in original; the Creator has his ways to keep us safe and sustained within any system we may be living under:.Jeremiah 27:1,5-18; Deuteronomy 2:7; 8:4; 29:5; the Creator is as excited to be effective in ways to your blessings in life, as you have been so unnecessarily anxious to engage solutions on your own:.Exodus 14:13 "...Fear not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will show to you..."; but this was in Old Testament times; is the Creator any different today?

God seems to always keep a remnant of those having affinity for Him, in order that they may be able to carry on later:.2Chronicles 36:10.

2Samuel 14:25,26 But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom.(2Chronicles 11:20; Absalom was third son of David, king of Israel and only son of David by Maachah).for his beauty. From the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him. And when he polled.(shaved).his head, for it was at every year's end that he polled it, because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it, he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king's weight.

2Samuel 14:27 And unto Absalom there were born three sons and one daughter, whose name was Tamar.(not to be confused with his sister Tamar, whom he defended from a violation by his brother Amnon:.2Chronicles 11:20). She was a woman of a fair countenance.

2Samuel 14:28 So Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem and saw not the king's face.
Hadn't seen his dad uring this time.
2Samuel 15:5,6 And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand and took him and kissed him...And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment. So Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

2Samuel 15:10 But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then you shall say, Absalom reigns in Hebron.

2Samuel 15:12 And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong, for the people increased continually with Absalom.

2Samuel 15:13,14 And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom...And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom. Make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly and bring evil upon us and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

2Samuel 15:31 And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Lord, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.
Easton's Bible Dictionary: Ahithophel means 'brother of insipidity or impiety', a man greatly renowned for his sagacity among those of Judea. Judea is the land occupied by the the tribe of Judah. At the time of Absalom's revolt he deserted David (Psalms 41:9; 55:12-14) and espoused the cause of Absalom, David's son who was out to rend the land from king David:.2Samuel 15:12. David sent his old friend Hushai back to Absalom in order that he might counteract the counsel of Ahithophel as verses 31-37 here show. This end was so far headed toward David and against Absalom that Ahithophel saw he had no longer any influence and accordingly he at once left the camp of Absalom and returned to Giloh his native place, where after arranging his wordly affairs, he hanged himself and was buried in the sepulchre of his fathers:.2Samuel 17:1-23. He was the type of Judas:.Matthew 27:5.
2Samuel 15:32-37 And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent and earth upon his head.(a sign of anguish and mourning, a being very upset over something): Unto whom David said, If you are joining with me where we are going, then you shall be a burden unto me.(one more thing to worry about). But if you return to the city and say unto Absalom.(David's son who was against David at this time due to the influence ofAbsalom by the conspirator Ahithophel), I will be your servant, O king. As I have been your father's servant hitherto, so will I now also be your servant. Then may thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel. And have you not there with you Zadok and Abiathar the priests? Therefore it shall be that what thing soever you hear out of the king's house, you shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar’s son and by them you can send unto me every thing that you can hear. So Hushai David's friend came into the city and Absalom came into Jerusalem.
