Acts 10:1,2 There was a certain man in Caesarea.(a large seaport city and home of Roman governors).called Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band.(soldiers from headquarters in Rome), a devout man and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms to the people and prayed to God always.

Acts 10:3 He saw in a vision evidently.(original for 'evidently' is 'openly', 'manifesting', or come about, become manifest).about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him.(toward him).and said unto him, Cornelius.

Acts 10:4 And when he looked on him, he was afraid and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Your prayers and your alms are come up for a memorial.(original 'a remembrance').before God.
God always knows everything and here is noted the efforts of one called Cornelius.

Note the angel didn't deny Cornelius's question regarding the angel being the Lord.

Acts 10:5 And now send men to Joppa and call for one Simon, whose surname is Peter.

Acts 10:6-9 He lodges with another names Simon who's a tanner, whose house is by the sea side. He shall tell you what you ought to do. And when the angel which spake unto Cornelius was departed, he called two of his household servants and a devout soldier of them that waited on him continually and when he had declared all these things unto them, he sent them to Joppa. On the morrow.(morning of the next day), as they went on their journey and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour.
Comprised with Barnes Notes: About twelve o'clock at noon. The Judeans had two recurring periods of prayer, morning and evening and some of them added a third season, probably at noon.

David of the Old Testament said:.Psalms 55:17 "Evening and morning and at noon, will I pray...".And Daniel: Daniel 6:10 "...kneeled upon his knees three times a day and prayed.".It was also customary for those in the early Christian.church to offer prayer at the third, sixth and ninth hours. Christians will, however, have not merely stated seasons for prayer, but they will seize upon moments of leisure and when their feelings strongly incline them to it, to pray.

Acts 10:10 And he became very hungry and would have eaten. But while they made ready, he fell into a trance,

Acts 10:11-18 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners and let down to the Earth. Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the Earth and wild beasts and creeping things and fowls of the air. And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter, kill and eat. But Peter said, Not so, Lord, for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God has cleansed that call not you common. This was done thrice and the vessel was received up again into heaven. Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house and stood before the gate and called and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, was lodged there.

Acts 10:19 While Peter thought on the vision.(*), the Spirit said unto him, Behold, three men seek you.

Acts 10:20-27 Arise therefore and get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing, for I have sent them. Then Peter went down to the men which were sent unto him from Cornelius and said, Behold, I am he whom you seek. What is the cause wherefore you are come? And they said, Cornelius the centurion, a just man and one that fears God and of good report among all the nation of the Israelites, was warned from God by an holy angel to send for you to come into his house and to hear words of you. Then called he them in and lodged them. And on the morrow Peter went away with them and certain brethren from Joppa accompanied him. And the morrow after they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them and had called together his kinsmen and near friends. And as Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshipped him. But Peter took him up, saying, Stand up; I myself also am a man. And as he talked with him, he went in and found many that were come together. And he said unto them

Acts 10:28 You know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is of Judah to keep company or come unto one of another nation, but God has showed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
Unlawful under the purposefully.misunderstood.application of the Old Testament.Mosaic Law, typical of the corrupt.Pharisees. Not all of them were corrupt:.Luke 7:36. Those that were, perverted the Old Testament Mosaic Law, making it look like there was only separation from what they wanted to believe and that was that they were the great wise ones, comprehending the knowledge of God like none other and that any Gentile was scum and couldn't even associate with them. Similar what the cabal elites have recorded that they think of you today.

Barnes Notes: The design was to keep them a separate people. To do this, Moses forbade alliances by contract or marriage with the surrounding nations which were idolatrous and were doing horrible things:.Leviticus 18:21-30; Deuteronomy 7:3-14; Ezra 9:11,12

Many peoples from other nations joined ancient Israel and were welcomed. Only those of satanic origin were to be destroyed. They never would have even come close to anything to do with the true God:.1Samuel 15:18. And, an example in Joshua's time:.Joshua 6:17-21.

Those wanting to be on God's side, were welcomed..American Tract Society: The Mosaic Law enjoined.a.generous.hospitality toward foreign.residents, saying."You shall love him as yourself":.Leviticus 19:33,34; Numbers 15:15,16; Deuteronomy 10:18,19; 24:17-21; 27:18,19. They were subject to the law:.Exodus 20:10. Hospitality to strangers including all travelers, was the duty of good citizens:.Job 31:32; Matthew 25:35; Hebrews 13:2.

Acts 10:29-31 Therefore came I unto you without gainsaying, as soon as I was sent for. I ask therefore for what intent you have sent for me? And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, And said, Cornelius, your prayer is heard and your alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God.

Acts 10:32 Send therefore to Joppa and call hither Simon, whose surname is Peter. He is lodged in the house of one Simon a tanner by the sea side, who when he comes shall speak unto thee.

Acts 10:33 Immediately therefore I sent to you and you have well done that you are come. Now therefore are we all here present before God, to hear all things that are commanded thee of God.

Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of individuals.(?).

Acts 10:35 But in every nation he that fears.(what does this mean?).God and works righteousness.(?), is accepted with him.
Or, as the original has it 'is acceptable to himself'. In other words, he is as acceptable as a good individual as he could possibly be.
Acts 10:36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Emmanuel the Christ, which is He that is Lord of all.
John 3:35.
Acts 10:37 That word, I say, you know, which was published throughout all Judea and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Emmanuel of Nazareth with power of the Holy Ghost, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him.

Acts 10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree.

Acts 10:40.Him God raised up the third day and showed him openly;

Acts 10:41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead..(?)

Acts 10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge.(what on Earth does this 'Judge' mean?).of the quick and dead.(alive and the dead).

Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believes in him shall receive remission of sins.(wrongs done to others and/or self; original word for what 'sin' is about, is here).
Note that the disciples were to focus on the importance of Christ to those they would speak to. Note too the importance of believing. Believing is a spiritual quality, far superseding the physical act of baptism and encompasses any spiritual meaning that may be attached to the ritual of baptism.
Acts 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words,.the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
The importance of doing your part in reaching others.
Acts 10:45 And they of the circumcision.(those who were decendents of the man Judah).which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
This Holy Ghost, also called the Holy Spirit, has a gift with it. What is it and what can it do for you?
Acts 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Acts 10:47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they.(they earnestly.implored.Peter).that he would tarry certain days.
