They had to be told not to slay another:.Deuteronomy 5:17; Exodus 20:13.		 In the new covenant, God is in us.(John 14:17; 17:21; Romans 8:10).and He is a God of love:.1John 4:8,16.
Commandment #7: 
To maintain peace and a stable home, they needed to know not to commit adultery.(mentally as well as physically:.Matthew 5:27,28): Deuteronomy 5:18; Exodus 20:14. The people back then were of an era where they did what they felt was right based upon selfishness:.Deuteronomy 12:8-12. 		 In the new covenant, He.(Emmanuel).is our peace.(Ephesians 2:14; Acts 10:36).and one intimate sexual partner at a time, is best.
Commandment #8: 
They needed a check on theft:.Deuteronomy 5:19; Exodus 20:15.		 One does not steal unless he feels lack in some area.(*):.2Peter 1:3; 2Corinthians 3:5; 9:8; 1:20. In Christ there is no lack. If one believes in His sustenance, why would he trust in his own?
Commandment #9: 
They were told not to concoct.lies against another:.Deuteronomy 5:20; Exodus 20:16.		 In the new covenant.(Christ in us).we live from the righteousness in our heart that we know is true of us:.Romans 6:17,18.
Commandment #10: 
They had to be told to keep their minds off desiring anything that belonged to another:.Deuteronomy 5:21; Exodus 20:17.		 In the new covenant we esteem others greater than ourselves.(Philippians 2:3).and seek their benefit, even sacrificing to assist them from our compassionate hearts:.Luke 6:31.
