John 17:1 These words spake Emmanuel and lifted up his eyes to heaven and said, Father the hour is come, glorify your Son that your Son also may glorify you.

John 17:2 As you have given him power over all flesh, that he should give.(how is this given?).eternal life to as many.(how many is that?).as you have given him.

Or, Christ was given the responsibility for eternal life to be given to humanity, the Father-Creator being the One responsible for opening a human's mind to the truth of spirituality, verses 6,9 below and to us is the responsibility to respond or not at this time. Why at this time?

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God and Emmanuel the Christ, whom you have sent.

John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might.(word 'might' not in the original).know you the only true God and Emmanuel the Christ, whom you have sent.(*)..God is life.

You have eternal life once awakened to it, like the fifty dollars. And, you have it in knowing God and Emmanuel the Christ.(Jeremiah 31:34; Hebrews 8:11), that is, eternal life is there once you the true God of all good creation and His precious Son.

Exodus 33:13 "Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in your sight, show me now your way, that I may know you, that I may find grace in thy sight and consider that this nation is your people."

Word 'have' not in original, but implied; so, if you know God, you're in eternal life and how do we get to know the Creator?

John 17:4 I have glorified you.(meaning God the Father).on the Earth. I have finished the work which you gave me to do.

John 17:5 And now, O Father.(who was this Father?), glorify me with you in the glory we had.(a fellowship of rapport).before the world was.

John 6:62; 1Corinthians 15:28.

What kind of a world was this, that once tasting of its joys, nothing on Earth was attractive in comparison to it? This realm of God, where the good stuff.permanently.is for us and must really be something incredible and wonderful:.1Corinthians 2:9.

John 17:6 I have manifested your name unto the men which you gave me out of the world. Yours they were and you gave them to me and they have kept your word.

John 17:6 I have manifested your.(the Creator-Father's).name unto the men.(the disciples, including those today; who may they be?).which you gave me out of the world.(Creator-Father, the One that is.the Silence, is responsible for awakening humans:.Acts 17:30). Yours they were.(*).and you gave them to me.(to look after, to feed them spiritually and be with them always from now on {John 21:15,16}:.Matthew 28:20 "...I am with you always..."; Ephesians 2:10; Hebrews 7:25).and they have kept your word.(what does this mean and what is this word to be kept and how does one keep it?.John 1:1-5.

God is responsible for our spiritual birth and our spiritual growth:.Ephesians 2:10; Hebrews 13:5.

John 17:7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever you have given me are of you.

John 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which you gave me and they have received them and have known surely that I came out from you.and they have believed that you did send me.

John 17:9 I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but for them which you have given me, for they are yours.

John 17:9 I pray.(original is 'request'; a different original word is used here for 'pray' than normally is used for that word, so instead of meaning pray.{talking with the Creator about something}.as we would think it would mean, it means just 'a request'; that is 'this is my heart for them' and John's heart was that he was happy about them).for them.(verse 6 above). I pray.(original again is 'request'; or He's saying 'this is not my heart for those whom You {the Creator, the Father, God} haven't given me' or it's not my heart to be happy that they are as they are and they were the way they are because the Creator was not calling everyone out of the world just yet; God leaves people alone as much as they want to be left to their own ways:.Jeremiah 44:16,17).not for the world.(?), but for them which you have given me.(verse 6 above), for they are yours.

The Creator family has great concern.for all:.John 3:16,17. What is our part in this awakening of all and how can we accelerate it?

Romans 11:14.

John 17:10 And all mine are yours and yours are mine and I am glorified in them.

John 17:11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world and I come to you. Holy Father, keep through thine own name.(what does the Creator-Father's name entail?).those whom you have given me, that they may be one, as we are.

The whole family is a family of oneness of love.

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name. Those that you gave me I have kept and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in your name.(His name is all He stands for, all He is and all His potential for us, in short, His consciousness and what is that?). Those that you gave me I have kept.(the words of God are important to him or her).and none of them is lost.(lost spiritual connection), but the son of perdition.(there are those coming but not yet in the kingdom of God.realm which is within an individual and there those still hanging on to the selfishness the Bible calls the world), that the scripture might be fulfilled.(shows there is a plan to it all).

"son of perdition".Barnes Notes: But the son of perdition. See Barnes "Mt 1:1". The term 'son' was given by the Hebrews to those who possessed the character described by the word or name following. Judas (Matthew 27:5) is called a son of perdition because he had the character of a destroyer:.1Corinthians 10:10. He was a traitor and a murderer. And this shows that God who knew the heart (Acts 15:8) regarded his character as that of a wicked man, one whose appropriate name was that of a son of perdition:.Hebrews 10:39.

"that the scripture might be fulfilled".refers to the Old Testament.scripture in Psalms 41:9.

John 17:13 And now come I to you.(Christ's disciples; are we today?.John 13:35).and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

Romans 11:14.

John 17:14 I have given them your word and the world has hated.(what does 'hate' mean?).them.(and hated Emmanuel too:.Luke 23:21), because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:15 I pray not that you should take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil.

Original for word 'evil' is 'full of labours, annoyances, hardships, trouble, intense desire, pain'; basically the daily life of most humans.

John 15:19 "If you were of the world, the world would love his own, but because you are not of the world but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."

John 17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

He was of a consciousness far beyond the ego level of consciousness.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through your truth. Your word is truth.

John 8:32,36.

John 17:18 As you have sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

John 17:19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which believe on me through their word.

John 17:21 That they all may be one, as you, Father, are in me and I in you.(*), that they also may be one in us.(how?); that the world may believe that you have sent me.(Ephesians 4:32).

The world will see the glorious character and notice that there is something coherent about your presence. You are the light of the world, having been illumined by the presence of the great infinite intelligent source of all we see and know of:.Revelation 4:10.

John 17:22 And the glory which you gave me I have given them, that they may.(word 'may' not in original).be one, even as we are one.

John 17:23 I in them and you in me, that they may be made perfect in one and that the world may know that you have sent me and have.loved them as you have loved me.

John 17:24 Father, I will that they also, whom you have given me, be with me where I am, that they may behold my glory which you have given me. For you loved me before the foundation of the world.(and us too).

Hebrews 4:3 "...the works were finished from the foundation of the world." and John 1:1.

John 17:25 O righteous Father, the world has not known you, but I have known you and these have known that you have sent me.

John 17:26 And I have declared unto them your name and will continue to declare it, that the love wherewith you have loved me may be.in them and I in them.

John 17:26 And I have declared.(original is 'make known' by alerting one to the information or, to awaken).unto them your name and will continue to declare it, that the love wherewith you have loved me may be.(no 'may' about it; original is simply 'be').in them and I in them.

The Creator is in us by love. Love is the atmosphere, the climate with frequencies within which those of love communicate. When you're of love, you are equal with the Creator, because the Creator is only love and as you are becoming an increasing expression of this, the Creator-God is able to do loving works as though it was you.(*):.John 10:25; 14:10; 14:20; Matthew 10:20.
