Jeremiah
31:3 God has appeared of old unto me,
saying, Yea, I have loved you with an everlasting
love.(how
could God love you with an everlasting love unless you
too have been everlasting?). Therefore with lovingkindness
have I drawn you.
Jeremiah
31:9 They shall come with weeping and with supplications will
I lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight
way.(Isaiah
30:21), wherein they shall not stumble, for I am a father
to Israel and Ephraim is my firstborn.
Jeremiah
31:12,13 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion
and shall flow together to the goodness of God, in thanks for wheat and
for wine and for oil and for the young of the flock and of the herd. And
their soul shall be as a watered garden and they shall not sorrow any more
at all. Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance.(an
opportunity to be dressed up and attractive in front of potential.suitors),
both young men and old together. For I will turn their mourning into joy
and will comfort them and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
Jeremiah
31:18 I have surely heard Ephraim.bemoaning
himself thus; You have chastised
me and I was chastised, as a bullock unaccustomed to the yoke. Turn thou
me.(Lamentations
5:21).and I shall be turned,
for you are the Lord my God.
Jeremiah 31:22 How long will you go about, O you
backsliding daughter? for the Lord has created a new thing in the Earth,
A woman shall compass a man.
Jeremiah
31:22 How long will you go about.(original
for 'go about' is 'turn away'), O you backsliding
daughter? for the Lord has created a new thing.(original
for 'new thing' is 'renewed':.Isaiah
43:19).in the Earth.(God
has renewed the true purpose of women, that being the same as all humans'
purpose from the beginning and that being a
spiritual purpose, which, when overstood,
allows women, who have been subjugated
all through history,
to see that regarding
spiritual things, they are equal to men in hope, life purpose and reward;
most women throughout history have regarded their circumstances
of life as inferior
to men and men welcomed this to their advantage), A woman shall
compass.(to
circle,
to excel, to
court;
being a strong of character woman, such as Ruth
and Esther were).a
man.
In Creator-God's
eyes, women are equal to men (Numbers
27:1-11) in spiritual potential
and certainly there have been women
so
much better than many men.
Jeremiah
31:25 For I have satiated the weary soul and I have replenished every
sorrowful soul.
Jeremiah
31:28 And it shall come to pass that like as I have watched over them
to pluck them up, break down, throw down, destroy and afflict, so will
I watch over them, to build and to plant says the Lord.
Jeremiah 31:31,32 Behold, the days come, says
the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and
with the house of Judah; Not according to the covenant that I made with
their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out
of the land of Egypt, which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband
unto them, says the Lord.
Jeremiah
31:31,32 Behold, the days come, says the Lord, that I will make a
new covenant with the house of Israel.(who
this is today?).and with the
house of Judah; Not according to the covenant.(a
covenant is an agreement and refers here to the
old covenant).that I made with
their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out
of the land of Egypt; which my
covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, says the
Lord.
Jeremiah
31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house
of Israel.(today
those inalignment with the Father-Creator are spiritual
Israel); After those days, says God I will put my law.(what
law?).in their inward parts
and
write it in their hearts and will be their
God and they shall be my people.
Hebrews
10:16.
Though a sense
of right and
wrong.is
there to use, humans are never
forced toward good or evil:.Romans
2:15; James 1:14.
Jeremiah
31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor and every
man his brother, saying, Know God.(more
on talking to others about them 'getting to know' God:.Hebrews
8:11)? for they shall all
know me, from the smallest group of them unto the largest of them.(people
in small towns and large cities, all of them), says God.
For I've forgiven iniquity.(when
was this?.2Timothy
1:9).and no longer remember
any sin.(*).
Hebrews
8:11.
Jeremiah
31:35 God which gives the sun for a light by day and the ordinances
of the moon.(original
for word 'moon' is 'month' of, originally 13
of them).and of the stars
for a light by night and God which divides the sea when the waves thereof
roar. The Lord of hosts is
one of his names.
In
other words, those things set by God cannot be altered;
for another example, the law
of reap and sow.
Jeremiah
31:36 If those ordinances depart from me, says God, the seed of Israel
also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
Jeremiah
32:17 Ah God! behold, you have made the heaven and the Earth by your
great power and stretched out arm and there is nothing too hard
for you.(*).
Jeremiah 32:18 You show lovingkindness unto thousands
and recompense the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children
after them. The Great, the Mighty God is his name
Jeremiah
32:18 You show lovingkindness unto thousands and recompense the iniquity
of the fathers into
the bosom of their children after them.(how?
and an example of this in the life of Eli).
The Great, the Mighty God is his name.
Jeremiah
32:19 Great in counsel and mighty in work. For your eyes.(*).are
open upon all the ways.(?).of
the sons of men, to give every one according to his ways and according
to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah
6:19.
Jeremiah
32:21 And have brought forth your people Israel
out of the land of Egypt with signs and with wonders and with a strong
hand and with a stretched out arm and with great terror.
They
saw what powerful things the Creator can do in their trek
out of the bondage they were under in Egypt for so long.
Jeremiah
32:22,23 And have given them this land, which you did swear to their
fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey. And they came
in and possessed it, but they obeyed not your voice, neither walked in
your law. They have done nothing of all that you commanded them to do.(Jeremiah
44:16,17). Therefore you have caused all this evil to
come upon them.
Jeremiah
32:24 Behold the mounts.(those
mounted on horses), they are come unto the city to take it
and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans that fight against
it, all because of the sword and of the famine and of the pestilence.(which
weakened the people before being overtaken).and
what you have spoken is come to pass and behold, you see it.
Jeremiah
32:25 And you have said unto me, O God, Buy you the field for money
and take witnesses.(you
might as well go and purchase the field the city is on and get some people
to see what I'll be doing to it, because it's for sure that I'll be doing
it), for the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.
Jeremiah
32:26 Then came the word of God unto Jeremiah,
saying,
Jeremiah
32:27 Behold, I am the God of all flesh. Is
there any thing too hard for me?
Jeremiah
32:28,29 Therefore thus says God; Behold, I will give this city into
the hand of the Chaldeans
and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar-II
king of Babylon and he shall take it. And the Chaldeans that fight against
this city shall come and set fire on this city and burn it with the houses,
upon whose roofs they have offered incense unto Baal
and poured out drink offerings unto other gods, to provoke me to anger.
This
was an insolent
people.
Jeremiah
32:30 For the children of Israel
and the children of Judah
have done evil before me from their youth.(*).
They have provoked
me to anger with the work of their hands.(what
work of their hands? They wanted nothing to do with God:.Jeremiah
44:16,17), says God.
Jeremiah
32:31 For this city has been to me as a provocation of mine anger and
of my fury from the day that they built it even unto this day, that I should
remove it from before my face,
And
this God did and also removed the people into captivity and that, over
and over again, by bringing another nation against them, but they just
didn't learn.
Jeremiah
32:32 Because of all the evil of the children of Israel
and of the children of Judah,
which they have done to provoke me to anger; they,
their
kings, their princes, their priests.(*).and
their
prophets and the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Jeremiah
32:33 And they have turned unto me the back and not the face. Though
I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have
not hearkened to receive instruction.
Jeremiah
32:34 But they set their abominations
in the house, which is called by my name, to defile
it.
God's
house today is in one's spirit, but.2Timothy
2:20 "But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of
silver, but also of wood and of Earth and some of honour and some of dishonour."
Jeremiah 32:35 And they built
the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom,
to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech;
which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind that they should
do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
Jeremiah
32:35 And they built the high
places of Baal,
which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom,
to cause their sons and their daughters to pass
through the fire unto Molech.(comprised
with.Barnes
Notes:."these
verses are repeated from Jeremaih
7:30,31, but in this verse, Baal
is put for Tophet.
Molech
the king and Baal the lord are different names of the sun God, but in altered
relations. Molech is the sun as the mighty fire, which in passing through
the signs of the Zodiac
burns up its own children. It is an old
Canaanite
worship, carried by the Phoenicians
to all their colonies and firmly established in Palestine
at the time when the Israelites conquered the country");
which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind that they should
do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
Jeremiah
32:36-37 And now therefore thus says the God of Israel,
concerning this city, whereof you say, It shall be delivered into the hand
of the king of Babylon.(2Chronicles
36:10).by
the sword and by the famine and by the pestilence. Behold, I will gather
them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger and
in my fury and in great wrath and I will bring them again unto this place
and I will cause them to dwell safely.
Jeremiah
32:38 And they shall be my people and I will be their God.
Jeremiah 32:39 And I will give them one heart
and one way, that they may fear me for ever,
for the good of them and
of their children after them.
Jeremiah
32:39 And I will give.(note,
it's the Creator giving something
to help).them one heart.(one
heart is oneness).and
one way.(John
14:6), that they may fear.(know
me and respect what I am and
how does one come to do that,
how
does one come to know the
great invisible one?).me for ever.(?),
for
the good of them and of their children after them.(Deuteronomy
5:29; Ezekiel 11:19).
Jeremiah
32:40-42 And I will make an everlasting
covenant.with them, that I will not turn
away from them.(Hebrews
13:5), to do them good; but I will put my fear
in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Yea, I will rejoice
over them to do them good and I will plant them in this land assuredly
with my whole heart and with my whole soul. For this God says, Like as
I have brought all this great evil upon this people.(*),
so will I bring upon them all the good that I have promised them.
Jeremiah
33:3 Call unto me.(give
God a call).and I will answer
you.(problem
is most people don't call to God and don't know how to really 'ask'
in a way
that gets an answer).and
show you great and mighty things which you have not known.(1Corinthians
2:9).
Jeremiah
33:4,5 For thus says the God of Israel, concerning the houses of this
city and concerning the houses of the kings of Judah, which are thrown
down by the mounts and by the sword, They come to fight with the Chaldeans,
but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in
mine anger and in my fury and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face
from this city.
Jeremiah 33:6 Behold, I will bring health and
cure to them and reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
Jeremiah
33:6 Behold, I will.(word
'will' not in original).bring it.(word
'it' not in original).health
and cure and I will.(word
'will' not in original).cure them and
will.(word 'will' not
in original).reveal
unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
3John
1:2.
Jeremiah
33:7 And I will cause the captivity
of Judah and the captivity of Israel to return and will build them,
as at the first.
Jeremiah
33:8 And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they
have sinned against me and I will pardon
all
their iniquities, whereby they have sinned and whereby they have transgressed
against me.
How
does one sin against God, other than not being in
alignment with multiversal laws set down by God long before man came
to be on the Earth:.2Timothy
1:9. The word 'sin' means
'missing the mark' in the original. The 'missing the mark' came when man
was put on the Earth to experience it. Why?
Jeremiah
33:11 The voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the
bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say,
Praise the Lord of hosts, for God is good, his mercy God is and forever
is. Those that bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the Lord,
for them I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first,
says the Lord.
Jeremiah
33:20 This says God, If you can break my covenant
of the day and my covenant of the night and that there should not be day
and night in their season;
Jeremiah
33:21 Then may also my covenant be broken with David
my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne and
with the Levites
the priests, my ministers.
Jeremiah
34:8-10 This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from God, after that
the king Zedekiah
had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim
liberty unto them; That every man should let his manservant and every man
his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free, that none should
serve himself of.(take
advantage).them, to
wit, of.(the
tribe of Judah).Judah his brother.
Now when all the princes and all the people, which had entered into the
covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant and every one
his maidservant go free, that none should serve themselves of them any
more, then they obeyed and let them go.
Jeremiah 34:11 But afterward they turned and caused
the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free to return and
brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
Jeremiah
34:11 But afterward they turned.(deceitful
and corrupt, not caring for others, they greedily changed their minds:.1Timothy
6:5; Isaiah 56:11).and
caused.(forced).the
servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free to return and brought
them into subjection
for servants and for handmaids.
Jeremiah
34:12-17 Therefore the word of God came to Jeremiah saying, This says
the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that
I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondmen,
saying, At the end of seven years let you go every man his brother who
is a Hebrew,
which has been sold unto you and when he has served you six years, you
shall let him go free from you, but your fathers hearkened not unto me,
neither inclined their ear. But you had turned from those errors and did
right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty to every man and to his neighbor
and you had made a covenant.(an
agreement).before me in the
house which is called by my name. But you turned again to be like your
fathers and polluted my name and caused every man his servant and every
man his handmaid, whom you had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return
and brought them again into subjection, to be unto you for servants and
for handmaids. Therefore thus says God, You have not hearkened unto me
in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother and every man to his neighbor.
Behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, says God, to the sword, to the pestilence
and to the famine and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms
of the Earth.
Of
the
Old
Testament laws, the ones here are regarding slaves:.Exodus
21:1-6. There were over
600 other Old Testament laws, now all
done away, were then an attempt (*)
at keeping peace, equity
and freedom among people, one was.Leviticus
25:39,40. So what applies today?.Matthew
22:35-40.
Jeremiah
35:1-5 The word which came unto Jeremiah from God in the days of Jehoiakim
the son of Josiah
king of Judah, saying, Go unto the house of the Rechabites
and speak unto them and bring them into the house of God, into one of the
chambers and give them wine to drink. Then I took Jaazaniah the son of
Jeremiah, the son of Habaziniah and his brethren and all his sons and the
whole house of the Rechabites and I brought them into the house of God,
into the chamber of the sons of Hanan, the son of Igdaliah, a man of God,
which was by the chamber of the princes, which was above the chamber of
Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door. And I set before the
sons of the house of the Rechabites pots full of wine and cups and I said
unto them, Have some wine.
Jeremiah
35:6 But they said, We will drink no wine, for Jonadab the son of Rechab,
our father, commanded us, saying, You shall drink no wine, neither you,
nor your sons for ever.
Barnes
Notes: They were nomads and as such, had no time for efforts it
would take to produce wine. The drink of nomads
consists of the milk of their herds. Wine is the symbol of a settled life,
which was not for them being nomads, because the vine requires time for
its growth and care in its cultivation, while the preparation of the wine
itself requires buildings and it then has to be stored up before it is
ready for use.
Jeremiah
35:7-12 Neither shall you build houses, nor sow seeds, nor plant vineyards,
nor have any. But all your days you shall dwell in tents, that you may
live many days in the land where you be strangers. Thus have we obeyed
the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab our father in all that he has charged
us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, nor our daughters,
nor to build houses for us to dwell in. Neither have we vineyard, nor field,
nor seed. But we have dwelt in tents and have obeyed and done according
to all that Jonadab our father commanded us. But it came to pass, when
Nebuchadrezzar.(another
spelling for Nebuchadnezzar-II).king
of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come and let us go to Jerusalem
for fear of the army of the Chaldeans
and for fear of the army of the Syrians. So we dwell at Jerusalem. Then
came the word of God unto Jeremiah, saying,
Jeremiah
35:13 Thus says the God of Israel, Go and tell the men of Judah and
the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to hearken
to my words?
The
Rechabites
were good people who held fast to the teachings of their fathers. Today
we think of the wonderfully helpful and innovative Amish
people and the Mennonites
and the Hutterites.
God tells Jeremiah to go tell those of Judah how honorable the Rechabites
are as compared to how those of pigheaded
Judah are:.Jeremiah
34:8-17.
Easton's
Bible Dictionary: The descendants of Rechab (the father of Jehonadab,
who was the father of the Rechabites 2Ki 10:15,23 Jer 35:6-19) through
Jonadab or Jehonadab. They belonged to the Kenites, who accompanied the
children of Israel into Palestine, and dwelt among them. Moses married
a Kenite wife Jud 1:16 and Jael was the wife of "Heber the Kenite" Jud
4:17 Saul also showed kindness to the Kenites 1Sa 15:6 The main body of
the Kenites dwelt in cities, and adopted settled habits of life 1Sa 30:29
but Jehonadab forbade his descendants to drink wine or to live in cities.
They were commanded to lead always a nomad life. They adhered to the law
laid down by Jonadab, and were noted for their fidelity to the old-established
custom of their family in the days of Jeremiah Jer 35:1ff. and this feature
of their character is referred to by the prophet for the purpose of giving
point to his own exhortation. They are referred to in Ne 3:14 1Ch
2:55 Dr. Wolff (1839) found in Arabia, near Mecca, a tribe claiming to
be descendants of Jehonadab; and recently a Bedouin tribe has been found
near the Dead Sea who also profess to be descendants of the same Kenite
chief.
Jeremiah
35:14 The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, that he commanded his
sons not to drink wine, are performed, for unto this day they drink none,
but obey their father's commandment, notwithstanding I have spoken unto
you, rising early and speaking, but you hearkened not unto me.
Jeremiah
35:15 I have sent also unto you all my servants the prophets, rising
up early and sending them, saying, Return you now every man from his evil
way and amend your doings and go not after other gods to serve them and
you shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers,
but you have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto me.
Not
listening.
Jeremiah
35:16 Because the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed
the commandment of their father which he commanded them.(people
often adopt what
they are exposed to, often.from
their families and friends, even having the same religious doctrines
and going to the same churches), but this people has not
hearkened unto me.
The
sons of Jonadab did good in following what their father taught them, but
the rest of the people didn't do so good as they just didn't listen to
those the true God sent to help them leave their ways of evil. Read on
down to Jeremiah 44:16,17 or just see there.
Jeremiah
35:17 Therefore thus says the God of hosts, the God of Israel, Behold,
I will bring upon Judah and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the
evil that I have pronounced against them, because I have spoken unto them,
but they have not heard
and I have called unto them, but they have not answered.
Jeremiah
35:18,19 And Jeremiah said unto the house of the Rechabites, This says
the God of Israel; Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your
father.(what
was this?).and kept all his
precepts and done according unto all that he has commanded you, therefore
thus says the God of Israel, Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not want.(lack
for).a man to stand before me
for
ever.
That
is, because they have been like this, their posterity
will exist a long time and God will be with them.
Jeremiah
36:1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim
the son of Josiah
king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah
from God, saying,
Jeremiah
36:2 Take you a roll of a book and write therein all the words that
I have spoken unto you against Israel and against Judah and against all
the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even
unto this day.
Jeremiah
36:3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which
I purpose to do unto them, that they may return every man from his evil
way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
Iniquity
is one's current evil way of living, the way one is in attitude, that is,
the motives
one has that cause iniquity. Compare
the words iniquity & sin.
Jeremiah
36:4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch.the
son of Neriah and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words
of the Lord, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
Jeremiah
36:5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up. I cannot
go into the house of God.
Jeremiah
36:6,7 Therefore go you and read in the roll, which you have written
from my mouth, the words of God in the ears of the people in God's house
upon the fasting day.(verse
9 below).and also you shall
read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities. It may
be they will present their supplication before God and will return every
one from his evil way, for great is the anger and the fury that God has
pronounced against this people.
Jeremiah
36:8 And Baruch the son of Neriah
did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in
the book the words of God in the God's house.
Jeremiah
36:9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim
the son of Josiah
king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast
before God to all the people in Jerusalem and to all the people that came
from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.
Jeremiah
36:10 Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house
of God, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the
higher court, at the entry of the new gate of God's house, in the ears
of all the people.
Jeremiah
36:11-18 When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had
heard out of the book all the words of God, then he went down into the
king's house, into the scribe's chamber and lo, all the princes sat there,
even Elishama the scribe and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah and Elnathan the
son of Achbor and Gemariah the son of Shaphan and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah
and all the princes. Then Michaiah.(also
one of the princes).declared
unto them all the words that he had heard.(as
best he could remember them), when Baruch read the book in
the ears of the people. Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of
Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying,
Take in your hand the roll wherein you have read in the ears of the people
and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand and came
unto them. And they said unto him, Sit down now and read it in our ears.
So Baruch read it in their ears. Now it came to pass, when they had heard
all the words, they were afraid both one and other and said unto Baruch,
We will surely tell the king of all these words. And they asked Baruch,
saying, Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth? Then
Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth
and I wrote them with ink in the book.
Jeremiah
36:19-22 Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide yourself, both
you and Jeremiah and let no man know where you be. And then they went in
to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of
Elishama the scribe.(doesn't
say that Elishama was aware of this; maybe he was away).and
told all the words in the ears of the king. So the king sent Jehudi to
fetch the roll and he took it out of Elishama the scribe's chamber. And
Jehudi read it in the ears of the king and in the ears of all the princes
which stood beside the king. Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the
ninth month and there was a fire on the hearth
burning before him.
Jeremiah
36:23
And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves.(pages
of the book), he.(the
king).cut it with the penknife
and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was
consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.
Jeremiah 36:24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent
their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all
these words.
Jeremiah
36:24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent.(when
something momentous
occured back then that affected their hearts, their custom was to tear
their clothes, which was as much as saying 'this is awful that I'm responsible
and need to change, because I'm in these clothes when I'm hearing these
things and won't wear them again).their
garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these
words.
Jeremiah
36:25-28 Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession
to the king that he would not burn the roll, but he would not
hear them. But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech and
Seraiah the son of Azriel and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch
the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but God hid them.(how?
verses 19-22 above). Then the word of God came to Jeremiah,
after that the king had burned the roll and the words which Baruch wrote
at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying, Take you again another roll and write
in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim
the king of Judah has burned.
Jeremiah
36:29 And you shall say to Jehoiakim
king of Judah, Thus says God: You have burned this roll, saying, Why have
you written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and
destroy this land and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast?
He
burnt it in contempt,
not the least bit interested in what it said.
Jeremiah
36:30 Therefore thus says God of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall
have none to sit upon the throne of David
and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat and in the night
to the frost.
Jeremiah 36:31 And I will punish him and his seed
and his servants for their iniquity and I will bring upon them and upon
the inhabitants of Jerusalem and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that
I have pronounced against them.
Jeremiah
36:31 And I will punish.(original
for 'punish' is 'attend to'; does
God punish?).him and his seed and his
servants for their iniquity and I will bring upon them and upon the inhabitants
of Jerusalem and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced
against them.(closer
to the original 'all the evil deserving them' can occur to them unless
that is, they change; the automatic functioning of the universal law of
reaping
and sowing is always working, either for or against), but they
hearkened not.(didn't
listen to the warning, so as to change and be a better individual).
Jeremiah
36:32 Then took Jeremiah
another roll and gave it to Baruch the
scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah
all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the
fire and there were added besides unto them many like words.
Jeremiah
37:1 And king Zedekiah
the son of Josiah
reigned instead of Coniah
the son of Jehoiakim.(whose
actual name was Jeconiah),
whom Nebuchadrezzar.(another
spelling for Nebuchadnezzar-II).king
of Babylon made king in the land of Judah.
Nebuchadnezzar
II made Zedekiah king in the land of Judah.
Jeremiah
37:2 But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land,
did hearken unto the words of God, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah.
Jeremiah
37:3 And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah
the son of Maaseiah the priest to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now
unto God for us.
Jeremiah
37:4,5 Now Jeremiah came in and went out among the people for they
had not put him into prison. Then Pharaoh's army was come forth out of
Egypt and when the Chaldeans that besieged Jerusalem heard tidings of them,
they departed from Jerusalem.
Jeremiah
38:1 Then Shephatiah the son of Mattan and Gedaliah the son of Pashur.(a
priest who hated Jeremiah:.Jeremiah
20:1-3).and Jucal the son
of Shelemiah and Pashur the son of Malchiah, heard the words that Jeremiah
had spoken unto all the people, saying,
Jeremiah
38:2 This says God, He that remains in this city shall die by the sword,
by the famine and by the pestilence, but he that goes forth to the Chaldeans
shall live, for he shall have his life for a prey.(Jeremiah
39:17,18).and shall live.
Jeremiah
38:6 Then took they Jeremiah and cast him into the dungeon of Malchiah
the son of Hammelech, that was in the court of the prison and they let
down Jeremiah with cords. And in the dungeon there was no water, but mire.(clay),
so Jeremiah sunk in the mire.
Jeremiah
38:7-13 Now when Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, one of the eunuchs
which was in the king's house.(king
Zedekiah),
heard that they had put Jeremiah
in the dungeon;
the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin.(an
area outside where a gate to his castle was, named after Benjamin);
Ebedmelech went forth out of the king's house and spake to the king, saying,
My lord the king, these men have done evil in all that they have done to
Jeremiah the prophet, whom they have cast into the dungeon and he is like
to die for hunger in the place where he is, for there is no more bread
in the city. Then the king commanded Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying,
Take from hence thirty men with you and take up Jeremiah the prophet out
of the dungeon, before he die. So Ebedmelech took the men with him and
went into the house of the king under the treasury and took thence old
cast.(used
for drawing and/or pulling).clouts.(old
rags of leather and cloth).and
old rotten rags.(but
still usable).and let them down
by cords into the dungeon to Jeremiah. And Ebedmelech the Ethiopian said
unto Jeremiah, Put now these old cast clouts and rotten rags under your
armpits under the cords. And Jeremiah did so. So they drew up Jeremiah
with cords and took him up out of the dungeon and Jeremiah remained in
the court of the prison.
Jeremiah
39:1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month,
came Nebuchadrezzar.(a
different spelling of Nebuchadnezzar-II).king
of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem and they besieged it.
Jeremiah
39:2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah,
in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.
Jeremiah 39:3 And all the princes of the king
of Babylon came in and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer,
Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer rabmag, with all
the residue of the princes of the king of Babylon.
Jeremiah
39:3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in and sat in
the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer.(according
to the great historian Josephus
in.Life and
Against Apion.1:20,
his name is Neriglissar, the one who murdered Evil-merodach
and reigned in his stead),
Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer rabmag.(Concise
Bible Dictionary states that, actually the second name of Nergalsharezer
here is wrong and should be 'Nergal-shar-uzur, Rubu-emga' as found
on bricks of the time, the 'Rubu-emga' is for Rabmag, a title, which means
'chief physician' attached to the king), with all the residue of
the princes of the king of Babylon.
Jeremiah
39:4-9 And it came to pass, that when Zedekiah
the king of Judah saw them and all the men of war, then they fled and went
forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king's garden, by the
gate betwixt the two walls and he went out the way of the plain. But the
Chaldeans' army pursued after them and overtook Zedekiah in the plains
of Jericho and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar-II
king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment
upon him. Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah
before his eyes. Also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.
Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes and bound him with chains, to carry
him to Babylon. And the Chaldeans burned the king's house and the houses
of the people with fire and brake down the walls of Jerusalem.
Jeremiah
39:9 Then Nebuzaradan the
captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the
people that remained in the city and those that fell away, that fell to
him, with the rest of the people that remained.
Jeremiah
39:10-12 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor
of the people which had nothing, in the land of Judah and gave them vineyards
and fields at the same time.(he
had a heart of kindness).
Now Nebuchadnezzar-II king
of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah.to
Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying, Take him and look well to
him and do him no harm.(Romans
13:10), but do unto him even as he shall say unto thee.(he
also had a kind heart). So Nebuzaradan the captain of the
guard sent for Nebushasban, Rabsaris and Nergalsharezer
Rabmag and all the king of Babylon's princes;
Jeremiah
39:14 Even they sent and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison
and committed him unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that
he should carry him home, so he dwelt among the people.
Jeremiah
39:15,16 Now the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah, while he was
shut up in the court of the prison, saying, Go and speak to Ebedmelech
the Ethiopian, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel;
Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil and not for good
and they shall be accomplished in that day before you.(or,
in front of him).
Jeremiah 39:17,18 But I
will deliver you in that day, says the Lord and you shall not be given
into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. For I will surely deliver
you and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be for a prey
unto you because you have put your trust in me, says the Lord.
Jeremiah
39:17,18 But I will deliver you in that day, says the Lord and you
shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. For
I will surely deliver you and you shall not fall by the sword, but your
life shall be as if it was prey.(Jamieson,
Fausset & Brown Commentary:."proverbial,
to make one's escape with life, like a valuable spoil or prey that one
carries off"; like you found something valuable,
picking it up and quickly running home with it, protecting it, before anyone
else notices and may want to take it from you; your life will be yours
and precious,
not under another's control).unto you,
because you have put your trust
in me, says the Lord.
Jeremiah
40:1-4 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after that Nebuzaradan
the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him
being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive.(2Chronicles
36:10).of Jerusalem and
Judah, which were carried away captive unto Babylon.
And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah and said unto him, The Lord
thy
God has pronounced this evil upon this place. Now the Lord has brought
it and done according as he had said, because of sinning against the Lord
and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.(Nebuzaradan
was a good man and smart. He could see how the woes upon the nation were
due to how the people were being evil and that Jeremiah was a good person
who somehow got dragged into it all). And now, behold, I
loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand. If it seem
good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come and I will look well
unto thee, but if it seem ill unto you to come with me into Babylon, forbear.(hold
back here and look around a bit); behold, all the land is
before you. Thither it seems good and convenient for you to go, thither
go.
Jeremiah
40:5-7 Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to
Gedaliah.(*).the
son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor
over the cities of Judah and dwell with him among the people or go wheresoever
it seems convenient unto you to go. So the captain of the guard gave him
victuals
and a reward.(some
money).and let him go. Then
went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah and dwelt with
him among the people that were left in the land. Now when all the captains
of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard
that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in
the land and had committed unto him men and women and children and of the
poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;
Jeremiah
40:8 Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael.(Ishmael,
this Ishmael was not the Ishmael born
of Abraham; this one a bad dude as you'll see following down here;
Gedaliah, a good man, being warned of what Ishmael was planning to do,
just didn't listen
to any inner guidance or any guidance from others about Ishmael's evil
plans and he paid for his ineptness
with his life:.Proverbs
24:6).the son of Nethaniah
and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth
and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite,
they and their men.
Jeremiah
40:9-16 And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto
them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans
who dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon and it shall be well
with you. As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah to serve the Chaldeans,
which will come unto us, but you, gather wine and summer fruits and oil
and put them in your vessels and dwell in your cities that you have taken.
Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab and among the Ammonites and
in Edom and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon.(Nebuchadnezzar-II).had
left a remnant
of Judah and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son
of Shaphan, even all the Jews returned out of all places whither they were
driven and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah in Mizpah and gathered
wine and summer fruits very much. Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah.(Johanan
was a good guy who tries to warn Gedaliah, but Gedaliah didn't believe
it; shows how deceitful
Ishmael was for Gedaliah to believe Ishamael was his friend; similar to
the corrupt and cruel conspirators who murdered Julius
Caesar to gain position for advancing
their own agenda
and unfortunately today's recent history is no different).and
all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, came to Gedaliah
to Mizpah and said unto him, Do you know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites.(was
Baalis the first communist,
as the same tactics are used today, those being a divide and conquer strategy).has
sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay you? But Gedaliah the son of
Ahikam believed them not. Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah
in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee and I will slay Ishmael
the son of Nethaniah and no man shall know it, for why should he want to
slay thee, except for that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should
be scattered and the remnant in Judah perish? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam
said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, You shall not do this thing, for you
speak falsely of Ishmael.
Gedaliah
was a good man, but didn't take time to intelligently, thoughtfully and
seriously consider what his men were telling him.
Jeremiah
41:1-5 Now it came to pass in the seventh month, that Ishmael the son
of Nethaniah the son of Elishama, of the seed royal and the princes of
the king, even ten men with him, came unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to
Mizpah and there they did eat bread together in Mizpah. Then arose Ishmael
the son of Nethaniah and the ten men that were with him and smote Gedaliah
the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword and slew him whom the
king of Babylon had made governor over the land. Ishmael also slew all
those of the tribe of Judah that were there with Gedaliah,
at Mizpah and the Chaldeans that were found there and the men of war. And
it came to pass the second day after he had slain Gedaliah and no man knew
it, that there came certain from Shechem, from Shiloh and from Samaria,
even fourscore.(a
score is twenty).men, having
their beards shaven and their clothes rent
and having cut themselves.(JFB
Commentary:."a
heathen
custom, forbidden in the nation of Israel at this time {Leviticus
19:27,28; Deuteronomy 14:1};
these men were mostly from Samaria where the
ten tribes, previous to their deportation, had fallen into heathen
practices"), with offerings
and incense in their hand, to bring them to the house of the Lord.
Jeremiah
41:6-8 And Ishmael the son of Nethaniah went forth from Mizpah to meet
them, weeping all along as he went and it came to pass, as he met them,
he said unto them, Come to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam.(he
seemed so sincere and kind, but was deadly cruel and deceitful, like most
politicians today:.Jeremiah
40:8). And it was so, when they came into the midst of
the city, that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah slew them and cast them into
the midst of the pit, he and the men that were with him. But ten men were
found among them that said unto Ishmael, Slay us not, for we have treasures
in the field, of wheat and of barley and of oil and of honey. So he forbare
and slew them not among their brethren.
Ishmael
and the criminals with him cared not at all for people only for what they
could get from them, typical of communist type evil ones:.Luke
13:2-5. When you are no longer of use they get rid of you. Same type
of people existing today do similarly with their surreptitious
offerings, using poisonings
of food, water, air and that which causes other hardships.
Jeremiah
41:9-18 Now the pit wherein Ishmael had cast all the dead bodies of
the men, whom he had slain because of Gedaliah, was it which Asa the king
had made for fear of Baasha king of Israel. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah
filled it with them that were slain. Then Ishmael carried away captive
all the residue of the people that were in Mizpah, even the king's daughters
and all the people that remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain
of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. Ishmael the son
of Nethaniah carried them away captive and departed to go over to the Ammonites.
But when Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces that
were with him heard of all the evil that Ishmael the son of Nethaniah had
done, then they took all the men and went to fight with Ishmael the son
of Nethaniah and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon. Now
it came to pass, that when all the people which were with Ishmael saw Johanan
the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces that were with him,
then they were glad. So all the people that Ishmael had carried away captive
from Mizpah cast about and returned and went unto Johanan the son of Kareah.
But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men and
went to the Ammonites. Then took Johanan the son of Kareah and all the
captains of the forces that were with him, all the remnant of the people
whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after
that he.(Ishmael).had
slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, even mighty men of war and the women
and the children and the eunuchs,
whom he had brought again from Gibeon. And they departed and dwelt in the
habitation of Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt,
because of the Chaldeans, for they were afraid of them, because Ishmael
the son of Nethaniah had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, whom the king
of Babylon made governor in the land.
Jeremiah
42:1 Then all the captains of the forces and Johanan the son of Kareah
and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah and all the people from the least even
unto the greatest, came near,
Jeremiah
42:2,3 And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our
supplication be accepted before you and pray for us unto the Lord your
God, even for all this remnant, for we are left but a few of many, as your
eyes do behold us, that the Lord thy God may show us the way wherein we
may walk and what we are to do.
Their
words sounded as though they meant it, but as verses 20-22 show, they weren't;
for
those who may sincerely want to know.
Jeremiah
42:4-10 Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you.
Behold, I will pray unto the Lord your God according to your words and
it shall come to pass that whatsoever thing the Lord shall answer you,
I will declare unto you. I will keep nothing back from you. Then they said
to Jeremiah, The Lord be a true and faithful witness between us, if we
do not even according to all things for the which the Lord thy God shall
send you to us. Whether it be good or whether it be evil.(whatever
it is, we'll do it if it's good for us or even if it's not good, even if
it's disagreeable and hard on us, we'll do it, we'll follow what you bring
to us from God), we will obey the voice of the Lord our God,
to whom we send thee that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice
of the Lord our God..(we
know overall it will turn out good if God is in it). And
it came to pass after ten days that the word of the Lord came unto Jeremiah.
Then called he Johanan the son of Kareah and all the captains of the forces
which were with him and all the people from the least even to the greatest.
And said unto them, This says the Lord, the God of Israel, unto whom you
sent me to present your supplication before him. If you will still abide
in this land, then will I build you and not pull you down and I will plant
you and not pluck you up, for I repent
of the evil that I have done unto you.
Jeremiah
42:11 Be not afraid of the king of Babylon.(which
king of Babylon was this?.Jeremiah
28:11), of whom you are afraid. Be not afraid of him,
said the
Lord,
for I am with you to save you and to deliver you from his hand.
God
shows what He would do if they were sincere
in their asking, but they weren't:.verses
20-22, below; and it's interesting how God does things in responding
to sincere prayers:.Jeremiah
25:9; 27:6-11; 43:10-13.
Jeremiah
42:12-19 And I will show mercies unto you, that
he.(the
king of Babylon who at this time was Nebuchadnezzar-II).may
have mercy upon you and cause you to return to your own land. But if you
say, We will not dwell in this land, neither obey the voice of the Lord
your God, Saying, No, but we will go into the land of Egypt, where we shall
see no war, nor hear the sound of the trumpet, nor have hunger of bread
and there will we dwell. And now therefore hear the word of the Lord, you
remnant
of Judah; Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; If you wholly
set your faces to enter into Egypt and go to sojourn there, then it shall
come to pass, that the sword, which you feared, shall overtake you there
in the land of Egypt and the famine, whereof you were afraid, shall follow
close after you there in Egypt and there you shall die. So shall it be
with all the men that set their faces to go into Egypt to sojourn there.
They shall die by the sword, by the famine and by the pestilence
and none of them shall remain or escape from the evil that I will bring
upon them. For thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, As mine
anger and my fury has been poured forth upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem,
so shall my fury be poured forth upon you when you enter into Egypt and
your life will be surrounded by execration,
astonishment.(original
is 'horrified',
'appalled',
not astonishment).and
a curse and a
reproach
and you shall see this place no more. The Lord had said concerning you,
O you remnant of Judah, Go you not into Egypt. Know certainly that I have
admonished you this day.
Jeremiah
42:20-22 For you dissembled
in your hearts, when you sent me unto the Lord your God, saying, Pray for
us unto the Lord our God and according unto all that the Lord our God shall
say, so declare unto us and we will do it.(verses
2,3).
And now I have this day declared it to you, but you have not obeyed the
voice of the Lord your God, nor any thing for the which he has sent me
unto you. Now therefore know certainly that you shall die by the sword,
by the famine and by the pestilence, in the place whither you desire to
go and to sojourn.
God
warned them through Jeremiah not to run to Egypt but to accept what was
to come to them from Babylon. God told them if they ran to Egypt and trusted
the power of Egypt for their protection, it would work out very bad for
them. Did they listen? No! Was Egypt a good place for them to go to? No!
It was better
to be in captivity under Babylon, as that's where God wanted them to
go.
Jeremiah
43:1-9 And it came to pass that when Jeremiah
had made an end of speaking unto all the people all the words of the Lord
their God, for which the Lord their God had sent him to them to speak,
even all these words, then spoke Azariah the son of Hoshaiah and Johanan
the son of Kareah and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, You speak
falsely, for the Lord our God has not sent you to say, Go not into Egypt
to sojourn there. But Baruch the son of Neriah has set you against us,
for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us
to death and carry us away captives into Babylon. So Johanan the son of
Kareah and all the captains of the forces and all the people, obeyed not
the voice of the Lord, to dwell in the land of Judah. But Johanan the son
of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, took all the remnant of Judah,
that were returned from all nations, whither they had been driven, to dwell
in the land of Judah, Even men and women and children and the king's daughters
and every person that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had left with
Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan and Jeremiah the prophet
and Baruch the son of Neriah. So they came into the land of Egypt, for
they obeyed not the voice of the Lord. Thus came they to Tahpanhes.(a
city in lower Egypt on a branch of the Nile river).
Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying, Take
great stones in yout hand and hide them in the clay in the brickkiln, which
is at the entry of Pharaoh's house in Tahpanhes, in the sight of the men
of Judah;
Jeremiah
43:10-13 And say unto them, Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of
Israel; Behold, I will send and take Nebuchadrezzar.(another
spelling for Nebuchadnezzar-II).the
king of Babylon, my servant.(Romans
9:19-21; Isaiah 64:8).and
will set his throne upon these stones that I have hid and he shall spread
his royal pavilion
over them. And when he comes, he shall smite the land of Egypt and deliver
such as are for death to death and such as are for captivity to captivity
and such as are for the sword to the sword. And I will kindle a fire in
the houses of the Gods of Egypt and he shall burn them and carry them away
captives and he shall array himself with the land of Egypt, as a shepherd
puts on his garment and he shall go forth from thence in peace. He shall
break also the images of Bethshemesh.(an
idolatrous.temple
in Egypt at that time;
called by the Greeks Heliopolis and by the Egyptians it was called On:.Genesis
41:45; it was erected
at the east of the Nile river {map}, a
few miles north of a city then called Memphis; Bethshemesh was a statue
in honor of the Sun and was 60 cubits
high, having a base of 10 cubits and on top there was a miter {like the
headdress of some religious leaders in costume}
of a thousand pounds weight), that is in the land of Egypt
and the houses of the Gods of the Egyptians shall he burn with fire.
Jeremiah
44:1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews
which dwell in the land of Egypt, which dwell at Migdol.(Easton's
Dictionary:."an
anciently strongly fortified place 12 miles from Pelusium, in the north
of Egypt").and
at Tahpanhes and at Noph
and in the country of Pathros.(Ezekiel
30:14), saying,
Jeremiah
44:3 Because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke
me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and to serve other Gods,
whom they knew not.(they,
like today with covid, did no research, but simply mindlessly
copied what they saw others doing:.Jude
1:5), neither they, you nor your fathers.
Jeremiah
44:11 Therefore thus
says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel;
Behold, I will set my face against you for evil and to cut off all Judah.(who's
Judah
today?).
Jeremiah
44:14 So that none of the remnant of Judah, which are gone into the
land of Egypt to sojourn there, shall escape or remain, that they should
return into the land of Judah, to the which they have a desire to return
to dwell there, for none shall return but such as shall escape.(Jeremiah
50:20).
Many
people today likewise have gone into the 'land of Egypt'.being.the
evil ways of this world, but a
few now have been called out; the rest
will eventually follow.
Jeremiah
44:15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense
unto other
gods and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the
people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros,
answered Jeremiah,
saying,
Jeremiah
44:16 As for the word that you have spoken unto us in the name of God,.we
will not.hearken unto you,
Jeremiah
8:5 "Why is this people of Jerusalem
slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast deceit and refuse
to return."
Jeremiah
22:21 "I spoke unto you in your prosperity.(how
God speaks to us).but
you said, I will not hear. This has been your manner from your youth, that
you would not care at all about what the good I wanted for you."
These were people of arrogance
and pride (Daniel 5:23), who looked
mostly to themselves and those who looked as they did. They were unkind
people, some of humanity, but mostly of the
mankind group which easily influenced humans who forgot the
great good things the true God had done for them:.Judges
8:34,35. The same playbook is used by the cabal today on the same type
of thinking humans not strongly in touch with God rely on:.Isaiah
30:10.
They didn't
want their Creator around because in their heart they wanted to do evil
things, that came to mind, from
where?
So the
Creator left them to their own devices:.Proverbs
1:31; Jeremiah 18:10
to 19:9. It wasn't a smart choice to decide against what the good God
wanted them to have:.Ezekiel
6:1-14; Deuteronomy 5:29.
It was a wrong
kind of pride and this just got worse right up to and including today,
where it's the same:.Genesis
6:11-17; Numbers 14:43-45;
1Samuel
8:7; Judges 2:19; 3:7-15;
Nehemiah
9:26,27; Job 21:3-12; Proverbs
31:8,9; Psalms 50:22; Isaiah
5:12,13; 47:7-11;
Jeremiah
2:31,32; 5:3,4;
6:15-17;
7:17,18,24;8:3-9;
14:10;
18:10-12;
22:3,13;
22:17;
Daniel
9;5-14; Hosea 5:4; Romans
1:21-32; 2Timothy 3:1-8.
Today, like
the evil ancients, we also have those who are righteous in their own eyes,
doing evils as they wish.(Proverbs
14:12; Romans 10:3), those
who in effect say 'Leave me alone to live my life as I feel I want to'.
And so the Creator did. Dumbed
down, the people having been manipulated
by the invisible duper:.Revelation
12:9.
The people
then simply wanted to carry
on life as they damn
well saw fit and that meant, without God around:.Mark
7:9 "And he said unto them, you reject
the commandment of God (what's that?.Matthew
22:35-40), that you may keep your own
tradition." Isaish 66:3 "...they have
chosen their own ways and their soul delights in their
abominations." Isaiah 65:2
"I have spread out my hands all day unto a rebellious people, which walk
in a way that's not good, after their own thoughts."
These people
were on the dark side, having been duped by the
master duper. They follow dark things without question; vaccines
and other poisonings.
The people
this verse is talking about are those who stay with the normal
low
consciousness of humanity until God specifically.awakens
them, as it was for Paul.
It's the same today. See the last 30 minutes of the movie.VAXXED,
which shows what can happen when one stays in low consciousness and away
from their Creator. And see
VAXXED II, about the people's story,
the so many parents who talk of their vaccine damaged and dead children.

Jeremiah 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever
thing goes forth out of.our own mouth,
to burn incense unto the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings
unto her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes,
in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, for then had we
plenty of victuals and were well and saw no evil.
Jeremiah
44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goes forth out of our
own mouth.(Romans
1:21), to burn incense unto the queen of heaven.(Jeremiah
7:17,18,24).and to pour out drink
offerings unto her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and
our princes, in the cities of Judah
and in the streets of Jerusalem, for then had we plenty of victuals.(food).and
were well and saw no evil.
The people
were corrupt and liked their society as it was. Everything seemed to be
going fine with their adopting
the many
gods of other nations they now were worshiping,
that is, going fine for
the time being:.Psalms
73:3-12; Joshua
24:20 "If you forsake the Lord and serve strange Gods, then he will
turn and do you hurt and consume you,.after that he has done you good.".Ecclesiastes
8:11;
Isaiah 47:7,8,10;
Jeremiah 8:15; Hosea
5:4. And God did them hurt but in the gentlest way He could, in order
to awaken them to Him. And what
was the gentlest way He could? And to assurances of this gentle way,
what
did God advise?
They wanted
to be left alone.(1Samuel
8:6-9,19,20; Proverbs 1:24-30;
Isaiah
30:9-11;
65:2-8;
Jeremiah
2:31; 6:10,15-17;
7:23-28;
8:5,6;
11:7,8;
18:12;
32:30-33).with
the religion and the life they made without the true God in it:.Jeremiah
5:25-31;
6:10;
9:2-6.
They were not interested in anything of the true God's higher consciousness
ways and were content
with what they already had, something they could see and touch and were
like this because they loved to be living in their own, though
error prone,
reality, same as today:.Isaiah
1:4; 30:10; 65:2-8;
Amos
9:10.
They wanted
to be left alone with idols they made (2Kings
17:29,30) and/or adopted to themselves, such as today, so God
left
them alone and went into hiding as
it were:.Ezekiel
7:22; Hosea 4:17; Hosea
9:12 "...woe also to them when I depart from them!"
So, God left
them to their own devices (Proverbs
1:31; Jeremiah 18:12) and
hid
away from them finding Him. But God never left off His love for them
and it's the same today about us:.Hebrews
13:5 "...for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.".It's
like you and one of your kids who takes off on his or her own, not wanting
anymore advice from mom or dad. How does your heart feel? So, because God
never gives up on any of us, the Old Testament people, because their heart
was little different than ours is today, God caused them to go in various
captivities, presenting the situations for the people back then to
decide they again wanted God in their lives, if they did. And this was
necessary time and
time again because the people weren't wanting to be anchored in God
at all. They were too caught up with daily concerns of self. Today minds
are not much different because after thousands of years of humanity's history,
that history has become part of the collective
consciousness, which influences us today, unless we have eyes to see
and ears to hear:.Micah
3:4; Ezekiel 12:2; Acts
28:27; 2Timothy 4:3,4. From
it we've all drawn information when we've had questions or wondered about
something. We've all been brought up in an environment mostly set by others,
our contemporaries.
Few know to go within.
God deals
with us differently from Old Testament times in that captivities.(*).have
taken a 'back burner on the stove'. Today it's the
pressures of evils
increasing that is bringing humanity to wonder what's going on that
all these evils are encircling
us as they increase. And they had pressures back then too, pressures God
allowed to get and keep them in the habit of looking to the real God:.Judges
2:20-23. It's the gentlest way to awaken humanity to return to God,
the God who is always
close and the only one who can turn things around for all of us, because
the dark side influenced ordinary consciousness of man never will.
Jeremiah 44:18 But since we left off to burn incense
to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have
wanted all things and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
Jeremiah
44:18 But since we left off.(left
off from Creator-God in
favor of the queen of heaven {the two verses above}).to
burn incense to the queen of heaven.(the
ancient Israelites had many
Gods {small 'g', also written as God, all capitals; proper is God}
as they continued on with the ways of the pagan
nations around them, ways like Egypt had that they left to get away from;
go
figure!.2Kings
17:29,30).and to pour out drink
offerings unto her, we have wanted all things.(once
they left off {Jeremiah 44:15-17;
Jeremiah
32:30-33; Deuteronomy 31:17;
Psalms
10:4,5} attention to the things of Creator-God, they began to experience
the negatives, including the lacks of life; that's just the way it is and
for a good purpose:.Deuteronomy
8:16 "...that he might humble you and that he might prove you, to do
you good at your latter end.").and
have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.
God was writing
a lesson in eternity for the good of all in the multiverse and it begins
with ancient Jacob and his twin brother Esau.
Jeremiah
44:19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven.(see
verse just above).and poured
out drink offerings unto her, we continued to make cakes to worship her
and pour out drink offerings unto her, but without our men.(lost
many men in wars)?
Jeremiah 44:20,21 Then Jeremiah said unto all
the people, to the men and to the women and to all the people which had
given him that answer, saying, The incense that you burned in the cities
of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings
and your princes and the people of the land, did not God remember them.and
came it not into his mind?
Jeremiah
44:20,21 Then Jeremiah
said unto all the people, to the men and to the women and to all the people
which had given him that answer, saying, The incense that you burned in
the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers,
your kings and your princes and the people of the land, did not the Lord
remember them.(God was
well aware of their wayward
ways, in spite
of what the people thought at the time: verse 17 just above).and
came it not into his mind?
Jeremiah
44:22 So that God could no longer bear, because of the evil of your
doings and because of the abominations which you have committed. Therefore
is your land a desolation and an astonishment and a curse, without an inhabitant,
as at this day.
Jeremiah
44:23 Because you have burned incense and because you have sinned
against God and have not obeyed his voice, nor walked in his law, nor in
his statutes, nor in his testimonies, therefore this evil is happened unto
you, as at this day.
Jeremiah
44:24 Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people and to all the women,
Hear the word of God, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt.
Jeremiah
44:25 Thus says the God of Israel, saying; You and your wives have
both spoken with your mouths and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will
surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen
of heaven and to pour out drink offerings unto her. You will surely
accomplish your vows and surely perform your vows.
These
people were determined to follow what they wanted as they were sure that
they were correct in their worship:.Proverbs
14:12; Jeremiah 44:16,17.
Jeremiah
44:26-28 Therefore hear you the word of God, all Judah that dwell in
the land of Egypt. Behold, I have sworn by my great name, that my name
shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land
of Egypt, saying, God lives. Behold, I will watch over them for evil and
not for good and all the men of Judah that are in the land of Egypt shall
be consumed by the sword and by the famine, until there be an end
of most of them. Yet a small number that escape the sword shall return
out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah and all the remnant of
Judah that are gone into the land of Egypt to sojourn.there
shall know whose words shall stand, mine or theirs.
These
people were determined (verses 16,17) to
find out the hard way that it was better to follow and learn of the true
God, rather than carry on in their having been deceived by what they called
these
other gods they came to believe in.
Jeremiah 44:29 And God says,
this shall be a sign unto you, that I will punish you in this place, that
you may know that my words shall surely stand against you for evil.
Jeremiah
44:29 And God says this shall be a sign unto you, that I will punish.(original
'attend upon' or, deal with the way you are; the Creator is never vindictive).you
in this place, that you may know that my words shall surely stand against
you for evil.
How
do these words stand against us for evil? And why
it's better for you to choose good.
Jeremiah
44:30 Thus says the Lord; Behold.(or,
'take note', 'notice'), I will give Pharaoh
Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand
of them that seek his life, as I gave Zedekiah
king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar-II.(Daniel
2:1).king of Babylon, his
enemy and that sought his life.
Jeremiah
46:1,2 The word of the Lord which came to Jeremiah the prophet against
the Gentiles; Against Egypt, against the army of Pharaohnecho king of Egypt,
which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadrezzar-II
king of Babylon smote in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah
king of Judah.
Jeremiah
46:10 For this is the day
of the Lord God of hosts, a day of vengeance.(Romans
12:19), that he may avenge him of his adversaries and
the sword shall devour and it shall be satiate.(satisfy).and
made drunk with their blood, for the Lord God of hosts has a sacrifice
in the north country by the river Euphrates.
God
used the ancient Chaldeans to overthrow those He was talking about in verses
1,2.
Jeremiah
46:19,20 O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, furnish thyself to go into
captivity, for Noph shall be waste and desolate without an inhabitant.
Egypt is like a very fair heifer, but destruction comes out of the north.
Jeremiah
46:24 The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded. She shall be delivered
into the hand of the people of the north.
Jeremiah
46:25 The Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, saith; Behold, I will punish
the multitude of No and Pharaoh and
Egypt, with their God and their kings, even Pharaoh and all them that trust
in him.
Jeremiah 46:28 Fear you not, O Jacob my servant,
says the Lord. For I am with thee, for I will make a full end of all the
nations whither I have driven you. But I will not make a full end of you,
but correct you in measure, yet will I not leave you wholly unpunished.
Jeremiah
46:28 Fear you not, O Jacob my servant.(ancient
Jacob's name was changed to the name of Israel {*};
Israel today is an
Israel of the spirit, in you if you are of God), says the Lord.
For I am with thee, for I will make a full end of all the nations whither
I have driven you. But I will not make a full end of you, but correct you
in measure.(Proverbs
3:12; Hebrews 12:6; but God corrects
by the automatic functioning
of the universal laws set up at the beginning? {*}),
yet will I not leave you wholly unpunished,
Original for
word 'unpunished' is 'wholly.absolved',
that is the Creator will still be working in lives to bring people around
to seeing that there is only
one way and that way wasn't the way they had been living by default;
the Creator works by having set up laws where one reaps
what he has sown and at times the Creator works by directly influencing
circumstances, as He he did in Job's
case and in Nebuchadnezzar's case and Paul's
case, to name only three.
Jeremiah
47:1 The word of God that came to Jeremiah the prophet against the
Philistines, before that Pharaoh.(which

will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the country of Caphtor.

Woe unto Nebo!

49:3 Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai.(one
of the royal cities of the Canaanites:.Joshua
10:1,2).is spoiled. Cry
you daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth. Lament and run to and
fro by the hedges, for their king shall go into captivity and his priests
and his princes together.
Jeremiah
49:4 Wherefore gloriest you in the valleys, your flowing valley, O
backsliding daughter? that trusted in her treasures, saying, Who shall
come unto me?
Clarke's
Commentary:."Though
your valleys be fruitful, yet glory not in them. Though thou have much
political and military power, do not trust in them, nor in the multitude
of your cities. A stronger than thou is coming against you."
Jeremiah
21:13.
Jeremiah
49:5 Behold, I will bring a fear upon you, says the Lord God of hosts,
from all those that be about you and you shall be driven out every man
right forth and none shall gather up him that wanders.

49:6 And afterward I will bring again the captivity of the children
of Ammon, says God.
Jeremiah
49:7 Concerning Edom.(Edom-Esau),
thus says God, Is wisdom no more in Teman? Is counsel perished from the
prudent? Is their wisdom vanished?
Jeremiah
49:10 I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places and
he shall not be able to hide himself. His seed is spoiled, both his brethren
and neighbors and he is not.
Barnes
Notes: The reason why the invaders destroy Edom so completely is
his secret places are the hiding places in the mountains of Seir. Esau's
seed, the Edomites, his brethren are the nations joined with him in the
possession of the land, Amalek
and perhaps the Simeonites.
His neighbors are Dedan,
a son of Raamah (Genesis 10:7)
His descendants are mentioned in Isaiah
21:13; Ezekiel 27:13-15.
They probably
settled among the sons of Cush, on the
northwest coast of the Persian Gulf),

sons of Ishmael and father of the tribe called Tema:.Genesis

miles south-east of Edom, on the route between Damascus and Mecca, in the
northern part of the Arabian peninsula, toward the Syrian desert; the modern

49:15 For, lo, I will make thee small among the heathen and despised
among men.
Jeremiah
49:16 Thy terribleness.(powerfulness).has
deceived you and the pride of your heart.(kinds
of pride), O you that dwell in the clefts of the rock.(the
rock), that holds the height of the hill. Though you
make thy nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from thence,
says the Lord.
Jeremiah
49:17 Also Edom shall be a desolation: every one that goeth by it shall
be astonished and shall hiss at all the plagues thereof.

49:18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities
thereof, says the Lord, no man shall abide there, neither shall a son of
man dwell in it.

a dwelling for dragons
and a desolation forever. There shall no man abide there, nor any son of
man dwell in it.

50:1 The word that the Lord spake against Babylon and against the land
of the Chaldeans
by Jeremiah the prophet.
Jeremiah
50:2 Declare you among the nations and publish and set up a standard.
Publish and conceal not Say, Babylon
is taken, Belis
confounded, Merodach is broken
in pieces. Her idols are confounded and her images are broken in pieces.
Jeremiah
50:3-12 For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which
shall make her land desolate and none shall dwell therein. They shall remove,
they shall depart, both man and beast. In those days and in that time,
saith the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children
of Judah together, going and weeping. They shall go and seek the Lord their
God. They shall ask the way to Zion with their faces thitherward, saying,
Come and let us join ourselves to the Lord in a perpetual covenant that
shall not be forgotten.
Jeremiah
50:6 My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have caused them
to go astray.
They have turned them away on the mountains. They have gone from mountain
to hill, they have forgotten their resting place.
Jeremiah
50:7-12 All that found them have devoured them and their adversaries
said, We offend not because they have sinned against the Lord, the habitation
of justice, even the Lord, the hope of their fathers. Remove out of the
midst of Babylon and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans
and be as the he goats before the flocks. For lo, I will raise and cause
to come up against Babylon an assembly of great nations from the north
country and they shall set themselves in array against her. From thence
she shall be taken. Their arrows shall be as of a mighty expert man; none
shall return in vain. And Chaldea shall be a spoil. All that spoil her
shall be satisfied, saith the Lord. Because ye were glad, because you rejoiced,
O you destroyers of mine heritage, because you are grown fat as the heifer
at grass and
bellow
as bulls. Your mother shall be sore confounded. She that bare you shall
be ashamed. Behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness,
a dry land and a desert.
Jeremiah
50:13 Because of the wrath of the Lord it shall not be inhabited, but
it shall be wholly desolate. Every one that goes by Babylon shall be astonished
and hiss at all her plagues.
Jeremiah
50:14-19 Put yourselves in array against Babylon round about. All you
that bend the bow, shoot at her, spare no arrows, for she has sinned against
the Lord. Shout against her round about. She has given her hand. Her foundations
are fallen. Her walls are thrown down. For it is the vengeance of the Lord.
Take vengeance upon her. As she has done, do unto her. Cut off the sower
from Babylon and him that handles the sickle in the time of harvest. For
fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn every one to his people and
they shall flee every one to his own land. Israel is a scattered sheep;
the lions.(hostile
kings).have driven them away.
First the king of Assyria.(2Kings
17:5,6).has devoured him
and last this Nebuchadrezzar-II
king of Babylon has broken his bones. Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts
the God of Israel behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land,
as I have punished.(original
for word 'punished' is
'attend to').the king of Assyria.
And I will bring Israel again to his habitation and he shall feed on Carmel
and Bashan and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead.
Jeremiah
50:20 In those days and in that time,
says the Lord, the iniquity of Israel.shall
be sought for and there shall be none and the sins of Judah
and they shall not be found, for I will pardon them whom I reserve.
Original
for word 'reserve' is 'whom I leave as a remnant'.
Jeremiah
50:21 Go up against the land of Merathaim.(Concise
Bible Dictionary: Merathaim is a symbolical
name given to the country of the Chaldeans,
signifying 'double rebellion' perhaps alluding to the double captivity
of the Israelites by Chaldea), even against it and against
the inhabitants of Pekod. Waste and utterly destroy after them, says the
Lord and do according to all that I have commanded you.
Jeremiah
50:22-24 A sound of battle is in the land and of great destruction.
How is the hammer of the whole Earth cut asunder and broken! how is Babylon
become a desolation among the nations! I have laid a snare for thee and
thou art also taken, O Babylon and thou wast not aware. You are found and
also caught, because you have striven.against
the Lord.
Jeremiah
50:25 The Lord has opened his armoury and has brought forth the weapons
of his indignation, for this is the work of the Lord God of hosts in the
land of the Chaldeans.
Jeremiah
50:26 Come against her from the utmost border, open her storehouses.
Cast her up as heaps and destroy her utterly.
Let nothing of her be left.
Jeremiah
50:27-32 Slay all her bullocks. Let them go down to the slaughter.
Woe unto them! for their day is come, the time of their visitation. The
voice of them that flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare
in Zion
the vengeance of the Lord our God, the vengeance of his temple. Call together
the archers against Babylon. All you that bend the bow, camp against it
round about. Let none thereof escape. Recompense her according to her work,
according to all that she has done, do unto her. For she has been proud
against the Lord, against the Holy One of Israel. Therefore shall her young
men fall in the streets and all her men of war shall be cut off in that
day, says the Lord. Behold, I am against you, O you most proud, says the
Lord God of hosts, for your day is come, the time that I will visit you.
And the most proud shall stumble and fall and none shall raise him up and
I will kindle a fire in his cities and it shall devour all round about
him.
Jeremiah
50:33 This says God, The children of Israel
and the children of Judah
were oppressed together and all that took them captives.(
who
were and how were they taken captives?) held them fast.
They refused to let them go.
Jeremiah
50:34-38 Their Redeemer is strong. The Lord of hosts is his name. He
shall throughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the land and
disquiet
the inhabitants of Babylon. A sword is upon the Chaldeans,
says God and upon the inhabitants of Babylon and upon her princes and upon
her wise men. A sword is upon the liars and they shall dote.(to
be foolish and not take what's happening seriously {'quick, gimmee my tea
so I can go back to my soap opera show on TV'}). A sword
is upon her mighty men and they shall be dismayed. A sword is upon their
horses and upon their chariots and upon all the mingled people that are
in the midst of her and they shall become as women.(as
compared to men of war). A sword is upon her treasures and
they shall be robbed. A drought is upon her waters and they shall be dried
up, for it is the land of graven images and they are mad upon their idols.(they
loved their
idols).
Jeremiah
50:39 Therefore the wild beasts of the desert with the wild beasts
of the islands shall dwell there and the owls shall dwell therein and it
shall be no more inhabited for ever, neither shall it be dwelt in from
generation to generation.
Jeremiah
50:40-46 As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbour cities
thereof, saith the Lord, so shall no man abide there, neither shall any
son of man dwell therein. Behold, a people shall come from the north and
a great nation and many kings shall be raised up from the coasts of the
Earth.(this
was Cyrus,
king of Persia and over the Medes
and Persians). They shall hold the bow and the lance.
They are cruel and will not shew mercy. Their voice shall roar like the
sea and they shall ride upon horses, every one put in array,
like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon. The king
of Babylon hath heard the report of them and his hands waxed feeble. Anguish
took hold of him and pangs as of a woman in travail.
Behold, he shall come up like a lion from the swelling of Jordan unto the
habitation of the strong, but I will make them suddenly run away from her
and who is a chosen man, that I may appoint over her? for who is like me?
and who will appoint me the time? and who is that shepherd that will stand
before me? Therefore hear you the counsel of the Lord, that he hath taken
against Babylon and his purposes, that he has purposed against the land
of the Chaldeans. Surely the least of the flock shall draw them out, surely
he shall make their habitation desolate with them. At the noise of the
taking of Babylon the Earth is moved and the cry is heard among the nations.
Jeremiah 51:15-18 He has made the Earth by his
power, he has established the world by his wisdom and has stretched out
the heaven by his understanding. When he utters his voice, there is a multitude
of waters in the heavens and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends
of the Earth. He makes lightnings with rain and brings forth the wind out
of his treasures. Every man is brutish by his knowledge is confounded by
the graven image, for his molten image is falsehood and there is no breath
in them. They are vanity, the work of errors. In the time of their visitation
they shall perish.
Jeremiah
51:15-18 He has made the Earth by his power, he has established the
world by his wisdom and has stretched out the heaven by his understanding.
When he utters his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens
and he causes the vapours to ascend from the ends of the Earth. He makes

man is brutish.().by
his knowledge.(compared
to what Creator-God does, man is so far back on the road as to not even
be seen). Every founder.(one

stupid beliefs in falsehoods that do nothing for him).by
the graven image, for his molten image is falsehood and there is no breath

they shall perish.
In the time

the worthlessness of such silly pursuits.
