-Does
1Timothy
1:5,8,9 indicate we should keep the commandments law part of the Mosaic
Law?
Paul in his letter to the
younger Timothy, was
advising him to be on the lookout for those who have a firm opinion about
that which they obviously understood so little:.1Timothy
1:3,4,7. No doubt some were teaching that the
commandments were necessary to keep, in order to be pleasing to God.
Then in verses
9 and 10, Paul reminds Timothy that the law was not for a righteous
man.(one
who is in Christ).
The law was to make a man realize that he had sin.(was
unloving and uncaring of others):.Romans
3:19,20; 5:13;
5:20;
7:7.
In 1Timothy 1:14 Paul
shows that grace is in abundance,
not by commandment keeping
or keeping any other part of the abolished
Old Testament law:.1Timothy
1:14 "And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and
love which is in Christ Emmanuel."
Sin.(an
unloving, uncaring attitude).does
not have hold over anyone in Christ, because they are righteous by the
gift of righteousness He gave.(Romans
5:17).and
are becoming more loving each day:.Romans
6:14,15 "For sin shall not have dominion over you. For you are not
under the law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin.(live
in an unloving, uncaring manner), because.we
are not under the law.(and
thus having to offer the rigmarole of sacrifices etc. that the law required
for sin), but under grace? God forbid."
We are now out.(Romans
8:2).of
the Mosaic Law.(Romans
7:7,12).that
was a spiritual, holy, just and good law, as its intent was right.(it
came from God).and
that showed humanity how wrong anything unloving and caring was.
Problem was, man did
not have the heart to live by it, and this is how it was planned to
be, so we would recognize later when Christ came with a higher form of
righteousness above regulation of the physical, that it indeed was a higher
form, and we could recognize this because we had the Infinite One's nature
in us to do so. This made possible to be into a new attitude, that of a
changed heart:.Romans
7:6; 2Corinthians 3:6.
–The old law was holy in
that it came from the Creator and was spiritual:.Romans
7:14.
–The old law was just, in
that it did what it was supposed to do in showing them all back then in
Mosaic Law days.(all
the way up until Emmanuel died and rose).where
they were wrong.(1Corinthians
15:56).and
it showed the need for redemption through Him who was yet to come.
–The old law was good, in
that it would keep men at peace and in order with each other, had they
followed it, but it was not of their heart back then to do so:.Deuteronomy
5:29; Hebrews 8:10; 10:16;
Romans
8:7.
So using this holy and just
and good law lawfully, meant to use it for the purpose for which it was
intended, and that was to make man realize that he was unloving and uncaring,
in a sinful attitude as it were, and if he had used it lawfully, it would
have shown him that he was guilty of being a selfish
person, unconcerned and unloving and that he needed the process begun
of changing his heart that was only available
through Emmanuel the Christ:.Romans
7:15-25;
Hebrews 10:1.
That is using the law.lawfully.(1Timothy
5:8).and
moving into the realm of righteousness by faith:.Romans
3:22,25; 4:5; Philippians
3:9.
Not using the law lawfully
involves sin and sin keeps one still under the law of sin and death:.Romans
8:2; 1John 3:4; James
4:17.
-If the law is done away
as explained in the Mosaic Law subject, why does Paul then say in Romans
8:2-4 that the righteousness of the law should be fulfilled in us?
Emmanuel came to fulfill
"the righteousness of the law":.Matthew
3:15. That righteousness is a gift.(Romans
5:17).to
those who believe.
Paul is here in Romans 8
contrasting two laws; the law of sin and death and the law of the spirit
of life in Christ:.Romans
8:2. It's the righteousness of Christ in us that he is encouraging:.Romans
8:1. How
to increase this.
This weak.(Romans
8:2-5), unprofitable and ineffective.(Hebrews
7:18,19).law
of sin and death many preachers still talk about, has been long ago nailed
to the cross as has been said:.Colossians
2:14.
The law of the spirit of
life in Christ Emmanuel has replaced it:.Romans
3:26-28; 7:4,6,22;
9:31,32;
2Thessalonians
2:16.
The
commandments
say nothing, apart from honoring your father and mother, about actively
going out to love others, having free choice.(the
original commandment was removed by the cabal along with 711
books, did have the actual first commandment in it. What
was it?), having
compassion,
mercy, etc..Hebrews
10:24; Matthew 9:13. What did
Emmanuel
say about the result of those who corrupted their lives yet based them
on the Mosaic Law?.John
8:37 "I know that you are Abraham's seed, but you seek to kill me,
because my word has no place in you.".And
why
would this have been? I mean they at least knew of the
Mosaic Law which God had given them?
Many back then, as today,
many persons just didn't comprehend the purpose of the Old Testament Mosaic
Law, which was to point forward to the time Christ would be in the physical:.Romans
10:4 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one
that believes."
The commandments, all twelve
of them were part of the Mosaic Law which
was abolished.(2Corinthians
3:11; Ephesians 2:15; again,
Hebrews
7:18,19).and
which was a law designed to keep a carnal
people in a physical nation in some kind of an awareness of God without
the Holy Spirit generally being available to them:.Deuteronomy
5:29;
Hebrews 7:19; 8:6,10;
10:1,9,16.
It was
not spiritual, but back then it was better to keep that law and be
blessed, than not keep it and have constant trials and heartaches throughout
life, which they did, because they
agreed to keep it and then found they couldn't and so then they went
their own way to their own hurt:.Jeremiah
44:16,17.
People back in Old Testament
times never could comprehend the Mosaic
Law's purpose, as they
had no mind to and it's the same today for those using
part of that law:.2Corinthians
3:16.
Most people today are not
even awakened to their own marvelous bodies. They seldom think about
their bodies, unless some part hurts, then run to a doctor, many of whom
don't care about you except for money:.Isaiah
59:1; Luke 8:43,44; Colossians
4:14. Why are they so?
The ancient law was useless regarding salvation. That took Christ coming
to have effect:.Titus
2:11.
What did those in the New
Testament era seeking
to continue following this now done away Mosaic Law, have to say to Paul
about it?.Acts
21:21 "...you teach all the Jews which are among the
Gentiles to forsake Moses.(meaning
the Mosaic Law),
saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk
after the customs."
Today we are to fulfil
the law of Christ a different way.(Galatians
6:2).with
Christ
in us. This law.(of
the sureness of Christ in us).is
not a bunch of carnal
commandments.(instructions).made
for a carnal people.(Romans
4:6,14,15), but rather:.Hebrews
7:16,19.
To be blessed requires this
perfect law of liberty. Christ's nature is in you by faith and faith alone:.James
1:25. To live a life filled with curses as it were takes this:.Galatians
3:9-13.
