Hebrews 7:1 For this Melchisedec, king of Salem.(means peace; Jerusalem means 'city of peace'), priest of the most high God.(original is 'highest God' and who is the highest God?.Revelation 4:9.10), who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him;

Hebrews 7:2 To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

Hebrews 7:3 Without father.(physically speaking), without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life, but made like unto the Son of God, abides a priest continually.
True of both Melchisedec and.The Word and that Intelligent Invisible Energy of which they were formed from.
Hebrews 7:4 Now consider how great this man.(word 'man' not in original, so, simply it means 'how great this being was'. Melchisedec was who existed as an expression from the Silence, which is what?:.Revelation 4:9.10).was, unto whom even the patriarch.Abraham gave the tenth.(*).of the spoils.

Hebrews 7:5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law.(the law that is now done away), that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham.

Hebrews 7:6-9 But he whose descent is not counted from them received Abraham's tithes and blessed him that had the promises.(Abraham). And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. And here men.(the Levitical priesthood).that die receive tithes, but there he.(Melchisedec).received them, of whom it is witnessed that he lived.(Melchisedec was a living being, though not a human being). And as I may so say, Levi.(the Levitical priesthood came from this guy named Levi).also, who received tithes, payed tithes in Abraham.
As Levi was a descendant of Abraham, who gave tithes to Melchisedec, not because Abraham did it to keep some law or felt coerced to by some agreement with Melchisedec, but because he was thankful and wanted to show it by giving to this being Abraham thought would appreciate the physical things he willingly gave to him.

Cmprised with Barnes Notes: These verses show the inferiority of the Levitical priesthood, as they too were mortal, yet having superiority over those paying tithes. Matthew Poole's Commentary:."These did receive these tenths by God's law from their brethren and these paid tenths by or in Abraham and so showed them to be inferior in office to Melchisedec."

Hebrews 7:10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.

Hebrews 7:11 If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, for under it the people received the law, what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec and not be called after the order of Aaron?

Hebrews 7:12 For the priesthood being changed.(original for word 'changed' is 'removed', transposed'), there is made of necessity a change also of the law.

Hebrews 7:13 For he of whom these things are spoken pertains to another tribe, of which no man gave attendance at the altar.

Hebrews 7:14 For it is evident.(Luke 3:23,33).that our Lord sprang out of Juda, of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood.
Emmanuel came out of the line of Judah, the ancient tribe that had nothing to do with the physical (carnal) priesthood extant back then, called the Levitical priesthood. Emmanuel was not designated to come out of the tribe of Levi, such as came Aaron, the first head of the Levitical priesthood, which administered a system of rules and regulations, the do's and don'ts as laid down within the now done away ancient Mosaic Law.
Hebrews 7:15 And it is yet far more evident, for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there arises another priest,

Hebrews 7:16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
Christ, a different type of priesthood than that of the Old Testament.
Hebrews 7:17 For he testifies, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Hebrews 7:18 For there is verily a disannulling.(original also has, 'abolition', 'disannulling', 'put away', 'rejection').of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
Romans 8:3.
Hebrews 7:19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did, by the which we draw nigh unto God.
Hebrews 7:19 For the law.(what law made nothing to do with perfection? not this one and not this one; this one; and see Hebrews 10:1) .made nothing perfect.(*), but the bringing in of a better hope did.(Hebrews 8:6), by the which we draw nigh unto God.

Note, the Old Testament Mosaic Law never was able to bring people to God's level of spirituality:.Deuteronomy 5:29. Only you can do that when using the gift God provided for you to fly high in life.

It was to be that way to show humanity that without God becoming closer to man, their lives would never attain to the equality God wanted man to have with Him. This Mosaic Law, which also contained the commandments, did nothing to bring one close to God, because it was not of faith:.Galatians 3:10-13. The Mosaic Law would have been helpful, if they would have followed it, for harmony in their society back then. But they hated it:.Jeremiah 44:16,17.

Hebrews 7:21 For those priests were made without an oath, but this with an oath by him that said unto him, God swore and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 7:21 For those priests were made without an oath.(Barnes New Testament Notes:."For those priests were made without an oath. The Levitical priests were set apart and consecrated without their office being confirmed to them by an oath on the part of God. They received it by regular descent and when they arrived at a suitable age they entered on it of course. Emmanuel received his office by special appointment and it was secured to him by an oath. In this He stands alone. In that office he had no predecessorand has no one to succeed him. In this respect he was without father, mother or descent and stands as the only one who sustains the office".(above Hebrews 7:3). The office now is permanent. It does not change from hand to hand:.Hebrews 7:23,24, just below, veses 22-24); but this with an oath by him that said unto him, God swore and will not repent, You are a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 7:22.By so much was Emmanuel made a surety of a better testament.

Hebrews 7:23,24 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death; But this man, because he continues ever, has an unchangeable priesthood.

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost.(Barnes Notes:."He makes salvation complete".and it's only complete when it's for all:.Colossians 2:10; Hebrews 2:10).that come unto God by him, seeing he.(who?).ever lives to make intercession for them.
So, not only is it comforting, but it is safe and efficacious to place your hands into God's hands, for who better is there to look after you? But it's always one's choice whether or not tp want God.

How does God look after you?.1, 2.and 2Peter 3:9 "...The Lord is...longsuffering to usward, not willing that any should perish..." John 3:17 "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved." Luke 9:56 "For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them..." 1John 4:6-16.

Hebrews 7:26 For such an high priest became us.(what does 'became us' mean?), who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners and made higher than the heavens;
That is, above all else and of the highest consciousness; verse 21 just above and verses 15-17.
Hebrews 7:27 Who needs not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins and then for the people's. For this he did once, when he offered up himself.
2Corinthians 4:10; Hebrews 7:27; Matthew 26:53.
Hebrews 7:28 For the law makes men high priests which have infirmity, but the word of the oath, which was since the law, makes the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
Hebrews 7:28 For the law.(Old Testament Mosaic Law).makes men high priests which have infirmity, but the word of the oath.(comprised from Barnes Notes: ancient priests were made without an oath, that is, the Levitical priests were set apart and consecrated without their office being confirmed to them by an oath on the part of the Creator. Instead it was set up then so that they received it by regular descent and when they arrived at a suitable age they simply entered it as a naturalconsequence of their position in life. Emmanuel however, received his office by special appointment and it was secured to him by an oath: Matthew 17:5), which was since the law, makes the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

Clark's Commentary:."Being after the order of Melchisedec.(Hebrews 7:21 just above), there was no need of a rigorous examination of his genealogy to show his right. He has an eternal priesthood, whereas theirs was but temporal. That which the Creator has appointed and consecrated with an oath, as to endure for ever, is greater than that which he has appointed simply for a specified time": Hebrews 7:12 above.

Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the.Majesty in the heavens;

Hebrews 8:2 A minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched and not man.

Hebrew 8:3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices. Wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

Hebrew 8:4 For if he were on Earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law.
Hebrew 8:4 For if he were on Earth.(Adam Clarke's Commentary:."As the ancient temple was standing when this epistle was written, the whole temple service continued to be performed by the legal priests, descendants of Aaron, of the tribe of Levi; therefore if Christ had been then on Earth, he could not have performed the office of a priest, being of the tribe of Judah, to which tribe the office of the priesthood did not appertain."), he should not be a priest.(Abbott's Illustrated New Testament:."his priesthood cannot be an ordinary priesthood under the law of Moses, since he did not belong to the tribe to which the priestly office was confined, that is, of the tribe of Levi."), because those priests offered gifts according to the law.

The meaning, the done away in Christ ancient Mosaic Law.

Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things.(the Old Testament stuff was only an example, that is, shone a light on so as to make a shadow of what later was to come; Christ), as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle. For see, says he, that you make all things according to the pattern shown to you in the mount.
Exodus 25:9,40; 26:30; 40th chapter.
Hebrews 8:6 But now has he.(Hebrews 7:22).obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Original also has it 'better announcement' and what was that?
Hebrews 8:7 For if that first covenant had been faultless.(God changes His plan for humanity as things go along, but always for the good of humanity), then should no place have been sought for the second.
The second was not a controlling of the physical, as was the ancient Mosaic Law, corrupted along the way up to and including the time of the Pharisees.(Matthew 23:13-33).but the second was a thing of the heart, the spirit of man.
Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with it, he said, Behold, the days come, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah.
Hebrews 8:8 For finding fault with it.(the fault was not with the people {see the verse above} and the people just couldn't follow it, because they were not able to supplant their low consciousness with something better back then; God designed it to be that way and for a reason {Hebrews 7:19}, so God could later change it after it had served it's purpose), he said, Behold, the days come, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant.(a covenant is an agreement).with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah..(?)

All those today of faith are of the spiritual house of Israel; Judah became part of Israel once again, after having separated from them, so today, as the spiritual applies to Israel, it also applies to Judah.

Hebrews 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, because they continued not in my covenant and I regarded it not, says God.

Hebrews 8:10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel.(who is Israel today?).after those days, says the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind.(how?).and write them in their hearts.(Jeremiah 32:38-42). And I will be to them a God.(a connection has been made).and they shall be to me a people.

Hebrews 8:11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord.(people trying to open other peoples minds to God; just pray for them and be a happy example to them, having a good time:.Nehemiah 8:10; share your fellowship and leave people alone unless you think they are asking or asking inside themselves; then offer help). For all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
Lesson is let the true God of all love and compassion, do his work (*).

This verse in this New Testament is from Jeremiah 31:34 in the Old Testament.

Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more..(*)
A clean sweep:.Revelation 21:5.
Hebrews 8:13 In that he says, By means of a new covenant, he has made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away.
