The Great Infinite One we refer to as the Creator or God designed the ancient Mosaic Law. God is of love and all God does is of love. If we don't see this, it's because we need more understanding of why God does things that are negative.

The Mosaic Law was to keep order amongst one another in society and was available as a standard which people could measure their 'wrongness' and righteousness back then, in anticipation of blessings from God:.Deuteronomy 26:16-19.

Deuteronomy 15:11 "For the poor shall never cease out of the land, therefore I command you, saying, You shall open your hand wide unto your brother, to your poor and to your needy in your land." Deuteronomy 24:14 "You shall not oppress.(original 'defraud', 'wrong', 'deceitfully get from').an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of your brethren or of thy strangers that are in your land within your gates.".Various other examples of Old Testament Mosaic Law guidelines, which show the thinking back then:.Exodus 23:1-9; Leviticus 19:1-17; Deuteronomy 22:1-8; 23:9-25.

This incomplete law had curses for breaking its 613 laws.(Deuteronomy 27:14-26; 28:15-68).and blessings for obedience to those laws:.Deuteronomy 28:1-13. It was onerous.

This ancient law was designed to keep one's mind on the Creator, the things of the Creator and this included guidelines for peace between each other. Many of these are just commonsense and are good guidelines for society today, such as:.Leviticus 18:1-30; 19:4-20:23.

In this day and age we have one law for the rich and another for the poor. Not fair. It was even fair under the onerous.Old Testament laws:.Leviticus 24:22 "You shall have one manner of law, as well for the stranger, as for one of your own country, for I am the Lord your God."

We all have our favorites. Though you may love all your children equally, applying what's most effective for their benefit as they grow through life, some may be favorites at different times and for various reasons:.John 21:20. One may be wanting to learn from your life and the other only cares about her friends. One may be causing you heartache.(example of Cain & Abel:.Genesis 4:1-12).and another not so:.Genesis 37:17,18 "...And Joseph went after his brethren and found them in Dothan. And when they saw him afar off, even before he came near unto them, they conspired against him to slay him.".Joseph's brother Reuben however, wasn't corrupt like his brothers:.Genesis 37:21,22.

Most minds then did not have Creator's nature of love inside them, needed so they could be blessed. This Mosaic Law was designed to show that a flaw in rules and regulations exists, that they do nothing to change the heart, the nature of man, which is selfish and increasingly so if left unchecked. The way of heart change is available in Christ within which is the power of the Holy Spirit. It was also available and given to certain ones in Old Testament times.

Though men and their families were told back then to follow these higher consciousness ways, they failed to do so:.Deuteronomy 5:29. They just didn't want anything to do with God and didn't try to understand why their natures were so averse to God?.Jeremiah 44:16,17. And after they lapsed, time and time again God would help them when they would turn to their Creator for help. God wants us to be as He is regarding this and many other principles of love:.Matthew 18:21,22

Have a look at the ancient peoples of Israel and Judah; they were fighting with each other.(Judges 20:20; 1Kings 12:21; 2Kings 14:11,12), even though they were all brothers of their father Jacob.(whose name was changed to Israel).and should have known better:.Leviticus 19:17. But, alas, most of the people back then fell head over heels into idolatry and wanted nothing to do with God:.Jeremiah 44:16,17.

Consider that God wanted them to have all blessings:.Deuteronomy 28:2-14

It was a system back then to get and stay connected to the Creator. But the people back then lacked any desire to follow through on what was good for them:.Deuteronomy 5:29. So, the commandments and the rest of the law back then would have produced a good result, but didn't:.Hebrews 7:12.

Today, thanks to the gift of the nature of the Infinte One in us, made possible by what Christ came and did, we do not need a bunch of rules and regulations to remain connected to our Creator, but those lacking this relationship, those still living in concerns of worldly things need such things or we would have chaos. What is needed?

This ancient laws were rules and regulations ensuring that the people the Creator chose back then would remain His people and exhibit a higher form of behavior than the surrounding nations as a result of this connection with their Creator.

The principles.of the Old Testement are fine for society today. Society has the obligation to impose morals on its citizens because it's beneficial for all. All should be following the golden rule to benefit all. Separation between church and state does not mean elimination of all moral values from a majority who may want them to be in place.

The 'state' should always be reflective.(representative, or a re-presenting {presenting again} to all).of the majority concerned enough to have elected them in the first place, but alas, the tables long ago have been turned towards gain for a few at the expense of many. Government is only on the surface how the people expect it to be, not at all how they may want it to be. People are too easily persuaded by spin from those adept at deception.

It isn't the elected 'representatives', managing.for.people, but rather the corporate management.of.people.(governments and their departments are now mostly corporations - did they ask you if this is what you expected of them before implementation of policies often later proving adverse to a public's best interest?). The very idea of social law is based upon morals and ethics derived from the golden rule. Why are such high consciousness things left untaught in schools? Is their a plan to hurt the nation, to subjugate people? Hmmm!

Many of these ancient Biblical laws.(such as instructions for keeping one's word).helped to keep one in harmony with others and maintain law and order. But the social principles contained in the law should not be used in these New Testament times to 'get or to keep one's self right with the Creator'.

Only the matchless sacrifice of the Creator in the physical individual of one called the Christ.(physically called Emmanuel the Christ or Emmanuel the Christ).enabled that through His righteousness being imputed unto believers and that, continuously:.Hebrews 10:9,10

As far as using them in a relationship with the Creator, the Biblical Old Testament laws were there not to produce the righteousness God wanted, but to make those who were under it and those who came along later realize that it couldn't be used for works towards producing the righteousness the Creator wanted:.Romans 3:19; Galatians 3:21. It was all to learn lessons written in the experience of life:.1Corinthians 10:11.

The only thing that would produce a righteousness equal to the Creator was the Creator Himself:.Galatians 3:24,25. That is a reason why Christ came and did what He did:.Isaiah 52:14. See more under 'Mosaic Law'.

It is the same with laws today. They fail to produce character. Laws prevent nothing negative from happening. Such laws come with penalties of varying severity and serve as justification for punishment to offenders. They may only affect the heart according to an individual's response to chastisement. Only love precludes offences. See love.

Now Emmanuel did say to live by every word of God. But one must possess the Creator's overview to understand:.Acts 15:18; John 14:26; 16:13

The comfort we have now is not in law keeping, as was the case in so many laws of the Old Testament, as if this would be pleasing to God anyhow.(Hebrews 11:6), but rather, in the Holy Spirit:.John 14:16. Christ is our comfort. Understand what 'Christ' is. And, Christ is our security.

The Creator-God is all for mercy.(*).and comfort.(2Corinthians 7:6), peace and enlightenment:.Luke 1:79; Psalms 46:1,10.

And how is it one feels comfort or discomfort?

Creator-God wants us to live forever:.John 3:16. He is a Creator that wants you to be encouraged in knowing His concern is for your well being at all times. The Creator is.all for us! Problem is, we are not 'all for us'.

Those under the ancient Mosaic Law were never comfortable with God:.Exodus 20:19 "And they said unto Moses, Speak you with us and we will hear, but let not God speak with us, lest we die."

Many today feel the same. They lack the liberty Christ came to provide:.2Corinthians 3:17. True liberty is mastery over desires that lead one away form God, from the good. This lacking affects our attitude in society as we daily interact with others. Believing in a religious law instead of in what Christ came to Earth to do, focuses the mind on do's and don'ts and off of feeling free.(James 2:12).to fully express love to others and to sow those things that you wish to reap. The mind can be imprisoned by do's and don'ts: Galatians 5:1,13. Liberty is another story:.Psalms 119:45; James 1:25; 2:12.

Rules, regulations and the plethora of guidelines that plague man today are all to keep him in a position where he is held back from being a threat to others. Such laws today have been seen as needed by those who fear man can't handle himself on his own. And he can't. He needs the law of love in his hear.

So, today man is kept in a position of subservience, because those who make today's rules view anyone apart from their clique as a fearful threat.

Once one replaces his ordinary consciousness nature with higher consciousness qualities, then oppressive rules and regulations become redundant:.Romans 13:10.

The original word for liberty in Galatians 5:13 and most other New Testament places the word is used, has its root as "unrestrained, not bound by an obligation" and "free to come and go".

The Old Testament law was the word of the Creator but for a specific purpose and time and only until Christ came.(Galatians 3:19,22).and for a carnal physical nation. The Father wants a relationship based on sincerity of heart:.John 4:23.

The Mosaic law.(given to Moses by by the Creator for the ancient nation of Israel).was designed both to maintain order in a carnal society and to keep the carnal nation God had as His people in a right stead with Him, so they could be an example other nations back then would want to follow. There were many good principles that we should be applying today that are found in this old law:.Leviticus 19:10-18 "And you shall not glean thy vineyard, neither shall you gather every grape of your vineyard, You shall leave them for the poor and stranger: I am the Lord your God. You shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. And you shall not swear by my name falsely, neither shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord. You shall not defraud your neighbour, neither rob him. The wages of him that is hired shall not abide with you all night until the morning. You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but shall fear your God: I am the Lord. You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment. You shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honour the person of the mighty, but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbour. You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people, neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbour: I am the Lord. You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall in any wise rebuke your neighbour and not suffer sin upon him. You shall not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love thy neighbour as yourself: I am the Lord."

Now the Creator has new higher laws for a spiritual people, a holy nation of believers:.1Peter 2:9,10; John 13:34; 1John 2:8-11; 1John 3:22-24.(original here for 'commandments' can just as easily be singular – 'commandment' and not 'commandments' and when the context of the chapter is considered, the singular is correct as it is talking of one commandment, that of love toward one another): 2John 1:5; Matthew 22:37-40

Actually there were twelve commandments according to the many more Bible books kept from us. What were the commandments then?.Exodus 20:3-17.

The spiritual components of the Old Testament Law of Moses, as it came to be called, are everlasting. The physical parts were abolished.

Physical commandment keeping was part of the 'peoples righteousness' back then. But what about any commandments.(or 'instructions', as it is in the original).involved in a relationship with the Creator today?

Also see the subject of righteousness which discusses Christ's righteousness imputed unto us as a free gift and contrasting that with the righteousness which comes from the law. See more under 'Sin No Longer Counts'.

What about New Testament law? When we get our minds off of Biblical 'law keeping' as a way to please God, concentrating more on Christ in us, His righteousness, helping and being of service to others.(Matthew 20:25-28; Luke 22:26) and our having been saved from the beginning.(2Timothy 1:9), we will have taken a giant step forward in our purpose here:.Hebrews 12:28.
