About 2Timothy

2Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Emmanuel the Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Emmanuel.
2Timothy 2:10; 1John 5:20; John 17:3.
2Timothy 1:2 To Timothy, my dearly beloved son; Grace, mercy and peace, from God the Father and Christ Emmanuel our Lord.

2Timothy 1:3 I thank God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of you in my prayers night and day;

2Timothy 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and I am persuaded that in you also.
Paul here lauds these women for what they taught Timothy:.2Timothy 3:15.
2Timothy 1:6 Wherefore I put you in remembrance that you stir up the gift of God.(how does one stir up the gift of God? Acts 2:38), which is in you by the putting on of my hands.
Is this laying on of hands necessary today?.Acts 8:4-17.
2Timothy 1:7 ForGod has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.(well balanced)..(?).(*)
Romans 8:10.
2Timothy 1:8 Be not you therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner. But be you partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
That is, don't be ashamed that you believe in God and His Son, the Lord Emmanuel (Jesus) Christ. That is, believe or accept as true (why accept as true?) what He says, nor the same of me (speaking of Paul; who was Paul?) whose words are in the books of Timothy and other books of the New Testament.
2Timothy 1:9 Who is saving us having called us with an.holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Emmanuel before the world began.
2Timothy 1:9 Who is saving us.(that is, awakening us to our true state of being, a state we once had when created and put on Earth, but a state which has long since been submerged and kept that way by the evil beings, the ones called the cabal. Since the beginning, we were with the true God who designed and made us:.Psalms 90:2. We are called {that is, called to be awakened:.Romans 4:17} by the true God to become as He is, the more we awaken spiritually to love:.1John 4:17) having called us with an.holy calling, not according to our works.(Christ is a gift to us; how does this work?.Titus 3:5), but according to his own purpose and grace.(his own purpose and grace refers to info in.Romans 8:20), which was given us in.(that is, to be in).Christ Emmanuel.(that is, the anointed one, Emmanuel, aka Jesus).before the world began.

"...given us in Christ...".2Corinthians 3:16. The verse of 2Timothy 1:9 means that God hasn't just created you, then dumped you:.Hebrews 13:5 "...for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.".The Creator of all is the same today as when you were created:.Hebrews 13:8 "Emmanuel the Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever." Malachi 3:6 "For I am the God, I change not..."

So, we had it all once (the two paragraphs above), threw it away by not realizing its importance (1Corinthians 15:19), leaned over to listening to the dark side (1Corinthians 6:5-11) which is always out to entice us toward evil, decided as the ancients did (Jeremiah 44:16,17), were given another chance at it in the life each of us have now, as shown by the example of the Corinthians (1Corinthians 1:26), which chance includes both the awakening to the opportunity we had and now again have.

We have become awakened to the truth of our lives. That's why Christ had to come. People had given up on God (Jeremiah 44:16,17), but God never givee up on them. This is what believing is. So, with this newly found belief, our life takes on the aspect of joy and assurance of a safe and properous path, but with individual experiences needed (Judges 6:11-21; 1Peter 1:7) for spiritual growth:.Colossians 2:2-4; Hebrews 6:11; 10:22. When you keep within this mental framework, you are able to stay on the path. One way to keep within.

What's it mean 'to be in Christ' and what actually is Christ?

You had nothing to do with this being saved. What was true of Jeremiah is also true of you:.Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the belly I knew you and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified.(1Corinthians 1:2).you and I gave you to be a prophet unto the nations."

It was God's plan from the beginning of humanity, even before those of humanity were made physical, a time before there was even this thing called time which we use in existence on this world.(Psalms 90:2; Job 8:9), a time when certain things took place in the life that then was and also things were planned to unfold for those wanting (sentient beings always have free choice) improvement:.Romans 9:23. God has loved each one of humanity since we existed before the physical. What do you mean, of humanity? Aren't all people of humanity? No.

God is life and life has always been. Life is eternal:.Romans 6:23. If that be the case, then Emmanuel was sent by God not to save, but for what?.John 10:10; 2Corinthians 5:18-20; Ephesians 2:10; Titus 2:14; James 4:8.

Emmanuel was sent by God to awaken people to the fact that they have been saved, that they are an integral component of the plan of God for humanity, but they need to be awakened to that:.Acts 16:31 "...Believe on the Lord Emmanuel Christ and you are saved and your house." 1Thessalonians 5:6 "Therefore let us not sleep, as do others, but let us watch and be sober." Titus 1:2 "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began."

Why does the verse say."in Christ Emmanuel.(Jesus).before the world began"?

In this verse 2Timothy 1:9, it mentions that we were predestined to be in Christ:.Romans 8:30; Colossians 1:17,18. And, how large is this and will this 'we' in Christ be? So, really, what is there left to do after Christ finished.(*).it all and gave gifts for you? Well, one gift, once awakened to it, will massively alter your life forever, including giving you such a good life right here and right now. No, it's not religious gobbledegook. It's life as most have never experienced. Life that turns you on like nothing else. What is this secret that we carry around with us but don't know we have?

But, in spite of that, people continue to harbor.guilt over what they may have said and done and this causes them to think more about their negatives than their true state in life. Their attention is on the blinding force of negatives which keeps out the light which would bring them happier days.

Without God there is no life.(*). It's all done for us. The plan was for us to be on Earth as an observer, to observe what keys work and work forever, these keys that are far beyond the consciousness we showed up in the physical with. We have carried (what's that mean?) and used a consciousness that has brought the world into the negativity that it's in (*). It's time to move from the evil. That's why we are here. Be aware of yourself:.1Corinthians 15:10 "But by the grace of God I am what I am and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain...".Remember that you are on this Earth and are what your presence is. If our presence is out of harmony with our heart, we know we are here for learning.

2Timothy 1:9 Who saved us.(who saved us?.Isaiah 44:22; Hebrews 12:2 {*}).and called us.(*).with an holy calling.(original for words 'called' and 'calling' here is 'awakened to God's purpose for us that we are particularly qualified for':.1Corinthians 12:1-12; Ephesians 4:11-13. We are all now called to awaken {2Corinthians 6:2}, that is, after having some alerts in life toward it:.1Corinthians 2:7; Ephesians 1:4-6,11; Titus 1:2; John 17:24), not according to our works.(whether good or bad, it was given us to be in Christ before the universe was made {*}. Note also that we were saved before we were called and we were called by being awakened in this age of humans but saved right from the beginning {2Thessalonians 2:13: Revelation 17:8}; called so we could have opportunity to awaken {Acts 26:18} to our true state and see what we could do and there's a reward too. We are called not because of any works of religion that we may have been in or told that are necessary to do in order to be saved; we were saved because of God's purpose and grace which was used in His making up of the plan for humanity that you and we all are in; you had no choice in that but do have a choice as to a response; because we were saved from the beginning of the world.{*} by works of love on God's part expressed through us and that's important, for what good is love if it's inactive; God is love {1John 4:8,16} and it's His love toward us which counts; in our acceptance, our agreement with that, we are then aligned with the Creator and are a workmanship then of God and are in the spiritual realm:.Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 1:10. Apart from that, our works of righteousness {the things done by us} are no better than a bunch of filthy rags:.Isaiah 64:6; in other words, they are good for nothing when it comes to doing things of our own to get saved, including doing works of religion to get anything; if we are dwelling in God and He in us, how much more saved can we be, how much more in tune can we be, but like a piano in tune, it does no good until it's sound is expressed; we are rewarded for good works, but good works to get something for self, such as being saved, such as prosperity, such as healing of illness or what else you may want, are really works that are good for nothing if they are not out of love and instead being works for an alternate agenda, that of for some selfish reason one holds in mind, but if say healing is needed, ask for it {Matthew 7:7-11}, but be sure your heart wants it so love can fluorish in your life and in other lives you care about), but according to his own purpose.(God's purpose in calling you is the reason you're on Earth:.Hebrews 2:7).and grace.(*), which was given us in Christ Emmanuel.(or, is us when in Christ, what does that mean and just what is Christ? All things in Christ are saved. Being in Christ equates to being saved, saved before we were given the physical experience of being in a human body on Earth, see Predestination).before the world began.(before the physical Earth was made, the Word was there; original for 'world' in this verse, is 'time', so, before time began.promises were made by God to us and when was that? So, you were saved then, that is, you were in eternity as Christ also is and before your time here on Earth which of course, is still part of this thing called eternity {Proverbs 8:22-30; Colossians 1:17} to awaken to all that, but until awakening, you and all of us were without that mental rest of belief:.Hebrews 4:3. Here's why any religious works just don't cut it with God, because you were saved before the world began and one of the reasons Christ came to Earth from the invisible realm, was to let us know that; knowing that, believing that, awakens an individual to the higher consciousness of God, necessary for a reward in eternal life, but God never overrides anyone).

2Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Emmanuel.Christ who has abolished death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. eternality to enlighten us throughthe gospel.
2Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Emmanuel.Christ who has abolished death.(to abolish death the devil's work has to be destroyed.?).and has brought life.(John 14:6).and immortality.(original for word 'immortality' is 'not corrupted', that is, Christ being made perfect {Hebrews 5:9}, made it possible for us too:.John 17:23).to light through.(through or by means of).the gospel.

But what about the word 'immortality' used in.1Timothy 6:16?.to enlighten us.(to enlighten us thus.awakening us).through the gospel.
Words of truth plant the seed for another to awaken who may at the present be spiritually blinded. But when will they awaken?eternality

To abolish death, sin also has to be gone:.Romans 6:23; 1John 3:4.

2Timothy 1:11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher and an apostle and a teacher of the Gentiles.
2Timothy 1:11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher.(which is a message bringer; original for this word 'preacher':.Matthew 4:23).and an apostle.(a message bringer greatly approved of others).and a teacher of the Gentiles.
2Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things. Nevertheless I am not ashamed. For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.
Paul here speaking of his soul committed to God, his heart and soul were firmly in Christ:.Hebrews 13:5 "...he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you."

Such sureness of the truth Paul had. How did he get to be that way?

2Timothy 1:13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which you have heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Emmanuel.
You only hold fast those things that you can praise God in thankfulness for. This is where one gets faith and love.
2Timothy 1:14 That good thing which was committed unto you is kept.(at the forefront of your mind).by.(original 'by' or 'through').by the Holy Ghost which dwells in us.

2Timothy 1:15 This you know, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me, of whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

2Timothy 1:16.17 The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus, for he oft refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chain and when he was in Rome he sought me out very diligently until he found me.

2Timothy 1:18 The Lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus you know very well.

2Timothy 2:1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Emmanuel.
How? and.2Peter 3:17.
2Timothy 2:2 And the things that you have heard of me.(Paul who is writing this letter to Timothy).among many witnesses, the same commit you to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

2Timothy 2:3 You therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Emmanuel the Christ.

2Timothy 2:4 No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier.
Plans of speculation and gain and with any purpose of worldly aggrandizement only take one away from the humility necessary to maintain the spiritual real purpose of human life; God says he'll look after you; Psalms 49:12,13.
2Timothy 2:5 And if a man also strive.(original for 'strive' is 'engage in a contest'; what kind of a contest? a contest of moving toward the light {John 8:12 "...the light of life."} and away from the darkness:.Matthew 6:23).for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
Do things honestly and properly. Don't kid yourself. Be true in heart by continuing with the spiritual disciplines you may have decided upon. Become a good person and you'll get a reward, that you wouldn't get if you do nothing spiritual, even though you aresaved:.2Timothy 1:9; this meaning, you'll be in this new world, but growing spiritually now in the pressure cooker of life on Earth, guarantees you some kind of a reward.
2Timothy 2:6 The husbandman that labours must be first partaker of the fruits.

2Timothy 2:7 Consider what I say and the Lord give you comprehension in all things.
So that you'll know what God meant by the words.
2Timothy 2:8 Remember.(why remember?).that Emmanuel.the Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel.
The gospel this very learned man believed.
2Timothy 2:10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Emmanuel with eternal glory.
If in Christ, you're saving is assured:.Colossians 1:27 "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
2Timothy 2:11 It is a faithful saying, For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him.

2Timothy 2:12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him, he also will deny us.
Romans 8:17.

To deny something one has to know something about what he is denying. For  example, the ancients didn't want anything to do with God and they knew about God, so God hid from them.

2Timothy 2:13.If we believe not, yet he abides faithful. He cannot deny himself.
An unbeliever is one who hasn't denied Christ, but just is not a believer yet, perhaps not knowing much if anything about Christ.

Romans 3:3 "For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?"

The Creator is not going to deny Himself, that is, we are all one and it's His oneness that sustains us and expresses as us individually:.Hebrews 13:5 "...for he has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you.".So, practice believing!

2Timothy 2:14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.

2Timothy 2:15 Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Timothy 2:15.Study.(original for word 'study' in this verse is 'do diligence', that is, take effort to stand.aligned with God {why?}; which God?.Revelation 4:9,10).to show yourself.(not to show others, but so you yourself can see that you are growing in God, as shown to you by your love of learning to live the things of God).approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed.(because he's doing the best he knows how and keeps learning to improve), rightly dividing.(or 'cutting straighter', as one is careful to cut as straight a line as he can with a pair of scissors, so that one side, say the evil side, is clearly seen in comparison with the spiritual side, so that one becomes careful {Titus 3:8} in his manner:.Hebrews 5:13,14).the word of truth.(*).
2Timothy 2:16 But shun profane and vain.babblings for they will increase unto more unGodliness.

2Timothy 2:17 And their word will eat as doth a canker, of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus.(and Alexander:.1Timothy 1:20);

2Timothy 2:18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already and overthrow the faith of some.

2Timothy 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God stands sure, having this seal, God knows them that are his. And, Let every one that names the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
Original is 'unrighteousness'. How to depart from unrighteousness, when in spite of being in Christ, you are still dogged by painful memories that have left but are still within seeing distance.

Matthew Henry's Commentary:."God knows those who are his", though we do not because God sees in secret:.Psalms 83:3.

2Timothy 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of Earth and some.(or, 'in').honour and some to.(or, 'in').dishonour.(Matthew 13:27-30).

2Timpthy 2:21 If a man therefore purge himself from these.(these around you that are not high quality in character {*}), he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified and meet.(means 'fit').for the masters use.(or, for the highest use by {*}).and prepared unto every good work.
Words 'master's use' not in original; would have been better translated '...a vessel unto honor, aligned with God.(*), thus being prepared for every good work'.
2Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts.(*). But follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on God out of a pure heart.
A pure heart is one with an open, clear intent, no deceit, no obfuscation. Note the people you can be the same with, join them in the peace of the true God. With many others, you are on a different timeline than they and their heart can't be reached at this time. Decide to be 'with people', 'in step with' rather than against them by being contentious, verse 24 below. Always be kind to all.
2Timothy 2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
1Peter 3:15 "But sanctify God in your hearts and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear."
2Timothy 2:24 And the servant of God.(Acts 27:23).must not strive.(Acts 9:5).but be gentle.(original for word 'gentle' is 'kind', 'affable'; how?.Proverbs 15:1).unto all men, apt to teach and patient.

2Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves, if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.
2Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves, if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging.(original Greek means, 'to have precise knowledge of' and from the original it means 'to be kind to people so that they may be moved to look at their past that has brought them to where they may be today and decide to change their present thinking and thus, program a better future'; always be respectful of others; but alas, we have all have our natures to deal with and as it was with ancient Pharaoh it was a grind to say the least).of the truth.
2Timothy 2:26 And that they may recover themselves.(original for 'recover themselves' is 'may be sober', that is think what is happening in your life and get answers from within as to why).out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.(applies to those not in Christ).
Paul was telling Timothy how to deal with people in the church (what's a church?) who had some serious problems and were causing problems for Timothy, those whose lives have been produced by the ego level and really had no idea they were entrenched within by the dark side and how that, little by little they were being negatively affected by it. (?)

Note it says "recover themselves". They have things to do with their mind in order to change any negative direction their life may have been headed deeper into:.Proverbs 14:12.

Barnes Notes:."The representation in this part of the verse implies that while under the influence of error, they were like a man intoxicated or like one in deep slumber. From this state they were to be roused, as one is from sleep or as a man is recovered from the stupor and dullness of intoxication."
