-anointed:
The promised Deliverer is twice called the."Anointed".or
Messiah.(Psalms
2:2; Daniel 9:25,26),
because he was anointed
with the Holy Ghost.(Isaiah
61:1), figuratively.styled
the."oil of gladness":.Psalms
45:7; Hebrews 1:9.
Emmanuel.(Jesus).of
Nazareth is this anointed One.(John
1:41;
Acts 9:22; 17:2,3;
18:5,28),
the Messiah
of the Old
Testament who became the Christ
spoken of in the New
Testament:.Acts
10:38 "How God anointed Emmanuel of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and
with power, who went about doing
good and healing all that were oppressed
of the devil, for God was with him."
In Christ
we
too are anointed ones:.2Corinthians
1:21 "Now he which establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed
us, is God.".Hebrews
1:9;
2Corinthians 1:21;
Acts
10:38.
-apostle(s):
An apostle is an individual sent by another with a message; a messenger;
an
envoy,
one sent forth, whereas a disciple
is a learner, a pupil.
The disciples became apostles when they had learned enough to accurately
share that knowledge in helping others learn.
Original
Greek.for
word 'apostle' is 'those having a spiritual message for others' with the
message based on the highly regarded inspired original writings comprising
the.Holy
Bible.
Disciple means 'one who is
still mostly learning'. Those with Emmanuel
were disciples.(learners,
students, learning about getting the message to others about the kingdom
of God). How many main ones were
there and how many total and who were they?.Matthew
10:2-4; Acts 1:15.
They later preached the gospel.(see
the.Book
of Acts.for
a starter; the rest of the acts of the men who were taught by Emmanuel
are throughout the balance of the New
Testament), raised the dead, healed
the sick etc. They witnessed
His resurrection. They then got His message out to the world.
Emmanuel sent the apostles
that were with Him and Paul too.(1Corinthians
15:8), out into the world to preach
the good news of why exactly He came and what He did for all:.1Corinthians
15:1-29..Why
has He called you?
The apostles did many signs
and wonders:.Acts
2:43.
-ark:
"The
Ark of the Covenant
implies
the contract between Creator and created involving the arch composite.(fractal)
construction
of our spiraling universe. All of nature is compelled to follow or flow
with this law governing spinning reality from galaxies to DNA." ...Dr
Len Horowitz.
The ark was very powerful
and special and could only be used and touched by those having gone through
a proper initiation
and at that time long ago, these were the priests.(Leviticus
16:2).of
the old
covenant.
The ark was a guidance system
God used to help the Israelites: Numbers
10:33 "And they departed from the mount of the Lord three days journey
and the ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them in the three days
journey, to search out a resting place for them."
The sacred
ark is called the 'ark of the covenant' and 'ark of the testimony'.(see
also word arch).and
is
distinguished
by a different Hebrew word 'aron'.(Joshua
3:6; Hebrews 9:4; Exodus
25:22), different than the word
used as in Noah's ark, which is the common name for a chest or coffer
used for any purpose:.Genesis
50:26; 2Kings 12:9,10; 1Samuel
3:3. They took the ark with them wherever they went:.Numbers
10:33.
The ark was made of acacia
or shittim wood.(Isaiah
41:18,19), a cubit
and a half broad and high and two cubits long and covered all over with
the purest gold.
Its upper surface or lid,
the
mercy seat, was surrounded with a rim of gold and on each of the two
sides were two gold rings, in which were placed two gold covered poles
by which the ark could be carried.
What was in the ark of the
covenant?.1Kings
8:9.
Over the ark, at the two
extremities, were two cherubim.(a
representation of
angels),
with their faces turned toward each other. Their outspread wings over the
top of the ark formed the throne of the Creator, while the ark itself was
his footstool:.Exodus
25:10-22; 37th chapter.
The ark was deposited in
the "holy of holies".
The two tables of stone which constituted the 'testimony' or evidence of
Creator's covenant with the people.(Deuteronomy
31:26), the 'pot of manna'.(Exodus
16:33).and
'Aaron's rod that budded'.(Numbers
17:10), were laid up in the ark:.Hebrew
9:4..(see
tabernacle)
The ark and the sanctuary.(1Chronicles
22:19).at
that time were 'the beauty of Israel'. The Ark had disappeared by the time
of the fall of Jerusalem in B.C.E.
586, apparently taken away by priests of Judah into Ethiopia for its protection,
where it remains today.
During the journeys of the
Israelites the ark was carried by the priests in advance of other Israelites
hosting of it. It was borne by the priests into
the bed of the Jordan river, which separated, opening a pathway for
the whole of the host to pass over:.Joshua
4:17-23.
The ark was
borne in the procession
round Jericho:.Joshua
6:4-17.
When carried it was always
wrapped in the veil, the badgers' skins and blue cloth and carefully concealed
even from the eyes of the Levites who carried it. After the settlement
of Israel in Palestine, the ark remained in the tabernacle at Gilgal for
a season and was then removed to Shiloh for between 300 and 400 till the
time of Eli when it was carried into the field of battle so as to secure
victory to the Hebrews and was taken by the Philistines.(1Samual
4:3-11), who sent it back after
retaining it seven months:.1Samuel
5:1-8.
It remained then for twenty
years at Kirjath-jearim.till
the time of David,
who wished to remove it to Jerusalem. The proper mode of removing was neglected.
Uzzah
was smitten with death for putting "forth his hand to the ark of God" and
in consequence of this it was left in the house of Obed-edom in Gath-rimmon
for three months, at the end of which time David removed it in a grand
procession to Jerusalem, where it was kept till a place was prepared for
it. It was afterwards deposited by Solomon in the temple.
When the Babylonians destroyed
Jerusalem and plundered
the temple, the ark was probably taken away by Nebuchadnezzar-II
as no trace of it afterwards is to be found, although it's believed to
have been taken into Ethiopia. The absence
of the ark from the second temple was one of the points in which it was
inferior to the first temple but the time had come to move on from the
ark of the covenant:
Jeremiah
3:16 "And it shall come to pass, when you be multiplied and increased
in the land, in those days, says God, they shall say no more, The ark of
the covenant of the Lord.(because
something greater would come:.Hebrews
9:11). Neither shall it come to
mind. Neither shall they remember it. Neither shall they visit it, neither
shall that be done any more.".(why?
1Corinthians
3:16; Jeremiah 31:33; the
new tabernacle is not made with hands:.Hebrews
9:11)
