Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.

Acts 2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them.
Why doesn't this happen today with those of sincere heart for their Creator?
Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.(original 'separate language to speak').

Acts 2:5 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Judeans, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

Acts 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.
The miracle here was not in the speaking, but in the hearing. Each spoke in his own language and others heard the words in their own language.
Acts 2:7 And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galilaeans?

Acts 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Acts 2:9-13 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and the dwellers in Mesopotamia and in Judea and Cappadocia, in Pontus.(Acts 18:1,2).and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, in Egypt and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene and strangers of Rome, Judeans and proselytes, Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God. And they were all amazed and were in doubt, saying one to another, What means this? Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine.

Acts 2:14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said unto them, You men of Judea and all you that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you and hearken to my words.

Acts 2:15 For these are not drunken as you suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

Acts 2:16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.(in Joel 2:28,29);

Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh.(when?; the prophecy is from Joel 2:27,28). And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams.
About dreams.
Acts 2:18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit and they shall prophesy.

Acts 2:19 And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the Earth beneath, blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

Acts 2:20 The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come.
See gene Decode on it. He explains it well, beginning at 1 hour in. About how good people will survive and how the evil ones will either change or they're gone forever. No more ever as bad as it has been in our time. Hear it more than once to begin to get it. The beginning part of gene's video has supportive scriptures to the explanation that comes later at the 1 hour mark.

From the Old Testament.Joel 2:31. Talked of here and in.Matthew 24:29 and also in.Mark 13:19-27.

2Peter 3:10-13; Revelation 6:12.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever calls on the name of Christ is saved.
Acts 22:16 "...wash away your sins by calling on the name of Christ."
Calling on the name of Christ takes you out of the blindness life has placed over you:.2Corinthians 4:4.

Original for word 'saved' is 'sozo' and if you want to know, the tense here is future, that is, once one calls on the name of the Lord, he or she is awakened to that fact of his or her true existence, that is, you are an invisible that is using the body you have to experience life here, necessary for the experiences to move into what comes later:.1Corinthians 2:9. The mood of the word 'saved' is indicative, meaning it is a simple statement of fact. If an action really occurs or has occurred or will occur, it will be rendered in the indicative mood.

Those of humanity were already saved but didn't come to know that till awakened to it and that awakening begins when they call on God and they wouldn't be open to calling on God unless God was calling them. And, they can always walk away from it as they forever have free choice. God wants those who have seen fit to be as He is.

Acts 2:22 You men of Israel, hear these words; Emmanuel of Nazareth, a man approved of God.(a better translation of 'a man approved of God' would have been 'a man proving He was God', *).among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as you yourselves also know.

Acts 2:23 Him.(verse above), being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God.(Matthew 26:53,54,56; Luke 22:22), you have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.
His crucifixion.
Acts 2:24 Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible.(Acts 3:15).that he should be holden of it.

Acts 2:25 For David speaks concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face.(David knew God was always with him), for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.

Acts 2:26 Therefore did my heart rejoice and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope.

Acts 2:27 Because you will not leave my soul in hell, neither will you suffer.(allow).your Holy One to see corruption..(?)
Acts 2:27 is from Psalms 16:10. See on it there. See Resurrection/Reincarnation.
Acts 2:28 Thou have made known to me the ways of life. You make me full of joy with your countenance.

Acts 2:29,30 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch.David, that he is both dead and buried and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. Therefore being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his.(that is, David's; another way of saying Christ came throught the lineage of David:.Matthew 1:6-16).throne.(Isaiah 9:7).

Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

Acts 2:32 This Emmanuel has God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
Barnes Notes: It seems probable that Peter refers here to the whole one hundred and twenty.(Acts 1:15).who were present and who were ready to attest to the resurrection of Emmanuel. The matter which was to be proved was, that Emmanuel was seen alive after he had been put to death. The apostles were appointed to bear witness of this. And we are told by Paul that he was seen by more than five hundred brethren, that is, Christians, at one time:.1Corinthians 15:6. The hundred and twenty assembled on this occasion were doubtless part of the number and were ready to attest this. This was the proof that Peter alleged and the strength of this proof was and should have been perfectly irresistible.
Acts 2:33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he has shed forth this.(He became a physical human being), which you now see and hear.

Acts 2:34 For David is not ascended into the heavens.(?). But he said himself, The Lord.(or, God's Holy Spirit; some Old Testament people had it back then).said unto my Lord.(my soul connected with God).(David knew that he had connection to this Infinite Intelligence, that he indeed was also God, but in a yet developing way), Sit thou on my right hand,
Verses 34 and 35, referenced in the Old Testament at.Psalms 110:1.
Acts 2:35 Until I make your foes be your footstool.

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel.(who really is Israel today?).know assuredly, that God has made that same Emmanuel, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
Who really allowed Emmanuel to be crucified?
Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Emmanuel Christ.for.the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, repent and be.(word 'be', not in original).baptized.(on 'baptism'; that is the Creator will immerse you {what the word 'baptize' means} with His presence and never leave you); that is from now on thinking will be attuned to God's higher nature).every one of you in.(original can also mean 'into').the name of Emmanuel Christ for.(His name is His purpose:.Matthew 1:23; on the word 'for', see below here and also note that the verse could just as easily mean 'repent' and 'baptized', being an awakening to what Emmanuel's name really means and it's that his name stands for the remission of all sin for all time and one's belief in this automatically brings the gift talked about).the remission.(original is 'sending away', 'liberty', 'release from bondage or imprisonment' and 'forgiveness or 'pardon of sins' {that is, letting those sins go as if they had never been committed}).of sins and you shall receive the gift.(no works necessary to receive a gift from someone or else it's not a gift).of the Holy Ghost.

The word 'for', as used in Acts 2:38 "for the forgiveness {or, the remission}...", could have two meanings; if you saw a poster saying "Jesse James wanted for robbery", 'for' could mean Jesse is wanted so he can commit a robbery or is wanted because he has committed a robbery, the later sense being the correct one; so too in verse 39, the word 'for' {see here}.signifies an action in the past, otherwise, it would violate the entire tenor of the NT teaching on salvation by grace and not by works.

The word 'for' is a preposition. 'For' is used to indicate the object, aim or purpose of an action or activity (trained for skiing; put the house up for sale). 'For' is also presenting some idea to consider (for, how can it be done without getting help? for now I think we should wait here until they come). 'For' is also used to indicate a destination (headed off for town). 'For' is also used to indicate the object of a desire, an intention or a perception (had a nose for news; eager for summers in the park). 'For' is also used to indicate the recipient or beneficiary of an action (prepared lunch for us). 'For' also means to speak for all the members. 'For' also means 'in favor of' (were they for or against the proposal? 'For' also means 'in place of' (a substitute for eggs). 'For' also is used to indicate equivalence or equality (paid ten dollars for a ticket; repeated the conversation word for word). 'For' is used to indicate correlation or correspondence (take two steps for every step back). Used to indicate amount, extent or duration (a bill for five dollars; walked for miles; stood in line for several minutes). Used to indicate a specific time (had an appointment for two o'clock). As being; take for granted (mistook me for the librarian). Used to indicate an actual or implied listing or choosing (for one thing, we can certainly afford the time to be there). As a result of; because of (jumped for joy). Used to indicate appropriateness or suitability (it will be for mom to decide on the location). As regards; concerning (she was a stickler for neatness). In honor of (named for her grandmother). Word 'for' as conjunction, means 'because' and 'since'.

"in the name of Emmanuel", the original for 'name' means 'knowing' (*), that is, one knows Creator-Father-God indeed exists (*) and wants to stay within this new found spirit, this new attitude one feels he is in.

To paraphrase the scripture: 'Then Peter said unto them, repent {means to change from something toward something better, these things to change from, being those of low consciousness living of life and to the higher consciousness living of the Creator; what's these higher consciousness things?} and you'll be immersed into the body of Christ {that is, 'this will baptize you into'; baptized means 'immersed into'} with everyone else who also has repented (what's the word 'repented' mean?) and you're doing this because you want to get away from the sins you want remitted because you have now decided to change from them and receive the workings of the Holy Spirit in your life.'

Acts 2:39 For the promise is unto you and to your children and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Closer to the original:.'For the promise.(John 1:12; 6:29; Titus 1:2: 1John 2:25).is unto you, your children and all who are in the Lord.(*).God.'

John 17:2,6,9

One has to know whether or not he or she is 'in the Lord' and how would one know if he or she has awakened to this?

And how many is God calling/awakening now?

And how?

Acts 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves.(original 'be safe from'; and, Philippians 2:12).from this untoward generation.
Save yourselves goes without saying, that one has first to be in an awakened state.
Acts 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized. And the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship and in breaking of bread and in prayers.

Acts 2:43 And fear came upon every soul. And many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
The apostles did many signs and wonders:.Acts 3:3-9;.5:12,15,16; 19:11,12; 28:8,9. Christ also.
Acts 2:44 And all that believed were together and had all things common.
It was a time of great excitement in the early church.(*); those who knew the truth were believers and had a 'what's mine is yours' attitude, a 'just let's get the job done' attitude:.Acts 4:32-37.
Acts 2:45 And sold their possessions and goods and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house.(went to each other's home for mealtimes), did eat their meat.(their food).with gladness and singleness of heart.

Acts 2:47 Praising God and having favour with all the people. And God added to the church.(original for 'church' is 'of called' or 'those called' by their awakening).daily many who were awakened to being saved.
Original for 'such as should be praised' is 'those praised'; praised for what? they were praised for their awakening to the state they had before the universe was formed (2Timothy 1:9) and it was this awakening that added them to the church and they were praised for it and welcomed.
