About Isaiah

Isaiah 1:1 The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.

Isaiah 1:2 Hear, O heavens and give ear, O Earth, for God has spoken, I have nourished and brought up children and they have rebelled.(original is 'transgressed', meaning out of sync with the frequency of love that is the Infinite One).against me.

Isaiah 1:3 The ox knows his owner and the ass his master's crib, but Israel does not know, my people do not consider.

Isaiah 1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity.(why is there iniquity?), a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters. They have forsaken God and have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger. They are gone away backward.
Isaiah 1:4.Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children.(Judges 2:19).that are corrupters.(original 'corrupt', 'waste', 'destroy'). They have forsaken God.(how have they forsaken?.Jeremiah 44:16,17).they have provoked.(original for 'provoked' is 'despised', 'contemn').the Holy One of Israel.(who is Israel today).unto anger. They are gone away backward..Ezekiel 7:19-27; Jeremiah 44:16,17.
Isaiah 1:5 Why should you be stricken any more?.(and here's why in this next sentences). You will revolt.(original for 'revolt' is 'turn away', 'depart', 'remove', 'revolt').more and more. The whole head is sick.(Jeremiah 6:13).and the whole heart faint.
What's God's attitude toward it all?.Romans 9:22.
Isaiah 1:6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in them, only wounds and bruises and putrifying sores. They have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
Isaiah 1:6 From the sole of the foot even unto the head.(as we say today 'from head to foot', that is, in every part of a person's body).there is no soundness.(*).in them.(Psalms 82:5; Isaiah 5:20-23; Jeremiah 5:26-28; 6:13; Micah 7:2-6,13; 1Peter 3:10,11), only wounds and bruises and putrefying sores. They have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mollified with ointment.
Speaking spiritually here about them carrying on as they want. You must wake up to what's really been going on and to the great future that can be yours.(*).
Isaiah 1:7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire. Your land, strangers devour it in your presence and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
The evil greed filled cabal having stolen land from indigenous people whom they severely abused and then murdered.
.
Those of the cabal who create money.for themselves, buy or steal the land in your country (ever hear of 'crown land'?), while you don't have the means to do so.(*), because often it's the financial policies of your country been manipulated to such an extent that it is difficult for you to save for anything and that due to having to borrow at compound interest the cabal's created out of 'thin air' money, just to live, these being their means to keep people at slave level, so only those of the satanic cabal prosper. Be of God and drop the cabal's ways, for why would you want Satan to rule you to your own destruction, which, though for a while you prosper under Satan, the end thereof are the ways of death:.Proverbs 16:25; 20:21.
Isaiah 1:8 And the daughter of Zion is left as a cottage in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
Isaiah 1:9 Except God.(what does this mean?).had left unto us a very small remnant.(Ezra 9:7,8), we should have been as Sodom and Gomorrah.
Romans 9:29.
Isaiah 1:10 Hear the word of God, you rulers of Sodom. Give ear unto the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah.
People became as bad as ancient Sodom and Gomorrah, so God tells them to return to Him and life will go better:.Hosea 7:1-16.
Isaiah 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? says God. I am full.(I've had enough of them).of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts and I delight not in the blood of bullocks or of lambs or of he goats.

Isaiah 1:12 When you come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to tread my courts?

Isaiah 1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths.(these ancient people kicked the real God out of their lives {Jeremiah 44:16,17} and instituted horrible pagan practices {Deuteronomy 12:31} which they used in 'celebrating' their holidays), the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with.(can't stomach this garbage); it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
Malachi 2:12 for explanation.
Isaiah 1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates.(hated them because they had to do with worship apart from the true God, who could have blessed their lives:.Jeremiah 44:16,17; instead they stupidly worshipped.pagan.deities.{Ezekiel 20:31}, of which they had many). They are a trouble unto me. I am weary to bear them.

Isaiah 1:15 And when you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you.(and God did). When you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.(*).

Isaiah 1:16 Wash yourself. Make yourself clean.(how? get into high consciousness by realizing the gift of righteousness that's given to you as a gift, not for something you did or failed to do or should have done, it's a gift; in making oneself clean also one can spiral back). Put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes. Cease doing evil.

Isaiah 1:17.Learn.to do well.(*). Seek judgment.(have the question in mind 'What is going on here'? What can be done?). Relieve the oppressed. Judge.(that is, consider so as not to overlook them).the fatherless.(Proverbs 31:8,9). Plead.(be on her side and help her).for the widow.
More on the poor amongst you:.John 12:8.
Isaiah 1:18.Come now and let us reason together, says God. Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they will be as wool.

Isaiah 1:19,20 If you be willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. But if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword, for the mouth of God has spoken it.

Isaiah 1:21-23 How is the faithful city.(a decent society).become an harlot! It was full of judgment and righteousness lodged in it, but now murderers. Your silver.(what's this? Psalms 12:6, 62:10).is become dross, your wine mixed with water. Your princes are rebellious and companions of thieves. Every one loves gifts and follows after rewards.(selfishness and bribes; what's in it for me?). They judge not the fatherless, neither does the cause of the widow come unto them.
Their heart is for nothing but selfishness.
Isaiah 1:24 Therefore says the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries and avenge me of mine enemies.

Isaiah 1:25 And I will turn my hand upon you and purely purge away thy dross and take away all your tin.
Speaking of taking away the flaws in your life; comprised with.Barnes Notes:.Tin is with us today, a well known white metal. But the word used here does not mean the tin of today. It denotes the tin of the ancients, a metal formed of lead mixed with silver ore. Here it means, I will take away all the impure metal mixed with you or clean you up making you pure in heart.
Isaiah 1:26 And I will restore your judges as at the first and your counsellors as at the beginning and afterward you shall be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.

Isaiah 1:27.Zion shall be redeemed with judgment and her converts with righteousness.

Isaiah 1:28 And the destruction of the transgressors and of the sinners shall be together and they that forsake God will be consumed..(?)

Isaiah 1:29-31 For they shall be ashamed of the oaks which you have desired and you shall be confounded for the gardens that you have chosen. For you shall be as an oak whose leaf fades, and as a garden that has no water. And the strong shall be as tow.(Barnes Notes: tow is the coarse or broken part of flax or hemp, meaning here that which shall be easily and quickly kindled and rapidly consumed; as tow burns and is destroyed at the touch of fire, so shall the rulers of the people be consumed by calamities).and the maker of it as a spark and they shall both burn together and none shall quench them.

Isaiah 2:1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem..
The Creator looks on the heart (1Samuel 16:7 "...for God sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but God looks on the heart."). 'Judah' and 'Jerusalem' in the original mean, Judah = praise and Jersualem = teaching of peace. Nations today praise each other for efforts presented as questing for peace, yet all the while they increasingly prepare for killing, as they don't trust God and thus no one else either in the creation. In this they are hypocritical nations, saying one thing for public consumption and belying.it with their actions which show their real heart.
Isaiah 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain.(Isaiah 65:11).of God's house shall be established in the top of the mountains.(what's a 'mountain' in the Bible?).and shall be exalted above the hills and all nations shall flow unto it.
Why would this happen other than the reason the people have awakened to the true God?.2Corinthians 3:16.

Habakkuk 2:14.

Isaiah 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come you and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord.(the kingdom of God on Earth), to the house of the God of Jacob.(a highly regarded ancient spiritual man).and he will teach us of his ways and we will walk in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law.(certainly not the old Mosaic Law).and the word of God from Jerusalem.
Jerusalem means city of peace. And where is the spiritual correlate of that city of peace?
Isaiah 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations and shall rebuke many people.(he will mediate.disputes). And they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
And, who's the teacher of war?.1Peter 5:8.

How then will disputes not arise?.Isaiah 30:21 "And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk you in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left."

Isaiah 2:5 O house of Jacob.(who is house of Jacob today?), come you and let us walk in the light of the Lord.

Isaiah 2:6 Therefore you have forsaken your people the house of Jacob, because they be replenished from the east and are soothsayers.like the Philistines and they please themselves in the children of strangers.
Today, though lands called Christian are not full of idols in the literal sense, as they were in ancient times, are they not full of idolized riches? and are not men so busy about their gains and indulgences.as the ancients were about their attention to idols, that the Lord, his truths and precepts are often relegated.to the back burner, forgotten or despised?
Isaiah 2:8 Their land also is full of idols; they worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.

Isaiah 2:11,12 The lofty looks of man shall be humbled and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down and the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day. For the day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty and upon every one that is lifted up and he shall be brought low.

Isaiah 2:17 And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down and the haughtiness of men shall be made low. And the Lord alone shall be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:18,19 And the idols he shall utterly abolish. And they shall go into the holes of the rocks and into the caves of the Earth, for fear of God and for the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake terribly the Earth.
Revelation 16:18.
Isaiah 2:20 In that day a man shall cast his idols of silver and his idols of gold which they made each one for himself to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

Isaiah 2:21 To go into the clefts of the rocks and into the tops of the ragged rocks, for fear of the Lord and for the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake terribly the Earth.

Isaiah 2:22 Cease you from man, whose breath is in his nostrils, for wherein is he to be accounted of?
Genesis 3:19 "...dust you are and unto dust shall you return."
Isaiah 3:5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another and every one by his neighbour. The child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient.(original is 'elders').and the base against the honourable.

Isaiah 3:9 The show of their countenance does witness against them and they declare their sin as Sodom.(Jude 1:7), they hide it not. Woe unto their soul, for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.

Isaiah 3:10 Say you to the righteous, that it shall be well with him, for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.

Isaiah 3:11 Woe unto the wicked!.(Isaiah 5:20).It shall be ill with him, for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
We reap what we have sown most of the time.
Isaiah 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead you cause you to err and destroy the way of your paths.

Isaiah 3:13 The Lord stands up to plead and stands to judge the people.

Isaiah 3:14 The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people and the princes thereof, for you have eaten up the vineyard and the spoil of the poor is in your houses.

Isaiah 3:15 What mean you that you beat my people to pieces and grind the faces of the poor? says the Lord God of hosts.
More on the poor amongst you:.John 12:8.
Isaiah 3:16 Moreover the Lord says, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go and making a tinkling with their feet.
Probably baubles that make a tinkling sound to draw attention. See 'Pride'.
Isaiah 3:18 In that day the Lord will take away the bravery.(Barnes Notes: their ornaments used to adorn themselves, such as earrings, which are nice {Ezekiel 16:8-14} they feel good and confident about themselves when all decked out).of their tinkling ornaments about their feet and their cauls.(Barnes Notes: the caul is a flexible strap or girdle, about four inches long, which is placed on the top of the head and which extends to the brow, in a line with the nose; a cap).and their round tires.(Barnes Notes: this refers to small ornaments in the shape of crescents or half-moons, commonly worn on the neck, somtimes by men and camels:.Judges 8:21).like the moon,

Isaiah 4:2-4 In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious and the fruit of the Earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem. When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning.

Isaiah 5:7 For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel and the men of Judah his pleasant plant. He looked for judgment but behold oppression, for righteousness but behold a cry.

Isaiah 5:8.Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the Earth!
Isaiah 5:8.Woe unto them that join house to house.(accumulate one house after another for the sake of making short the supply, so that more can be charged; cramp the houses together and put dwellings on top of each other, so we can have the open wide large spaces for ourselves; today it's called controlling the market, where a few powerful concerns can create a monopoly of greed; also, joining house to house can be because of purposefully.constricting people to an area, in spite of there being plenty of land and the fact Earth size will increase to accomodate an increasing population), that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they may be placed alone in the midst of the Earth.(cramp all the serfs together, so they can be monitored more easily and we can live safer in beautiful expanses of the land)!
Isaiah 5:10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath and the seed of an homer shall yield an ephah.
Isaiah 5:10 Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath.(a Hebrew liquid measure, the tenth part of an homer; about 7 gallons).and the seed of an homer.(the largest of dry measures, containing about 8 bushels).shall yield an ephah.(a grain measure containing three seahs {the third of an ephah} or ten omers {a handful, one-tenth of an ephah = half a gallon dry measure})..More weights and measures of ancient times)
Isaiah 5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink, that continue until night till wine inflame them!

Isaiah 5:12 And the harp and the viol, the tabret and pipe and wine, are in their feasts, but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands.
That is, just how does the Creator do what He does?
Isaiah 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity.(2Chronicles 36:10), because they have no knowledge.(*).and their honourable men are famished and their multitude dried up with thirst.

Isaiah 5:16 But the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness..(?)

Isaiah 5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity and sin as it were with a cart rope.

Isaiah 5:20.Woe unto them that call evil good and good evil, that put darkness for light and light for darkness.(?), that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
How many things like this exist today? People are told "vaccinations are safe", when the truth is they are not at all safe and never have been, but people, being generally lazy intellectual loafers, often living with intimidatory.opinions, swallow up lies {Isaiah 30:1-18} given to them by those whose authority they have been sucked in by as if it they were handed candy! So, people live in error trusting authority. Being like that is dabbling.with darkness:.Ephesians 5:11; Matthew 15:14.
Isaiah 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes.(Proverbs 14:12).and prudent in their own sight!.(*)

Isaiah 5:22.Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine and to men of strength mingling strong drink.

Isaiah 5:23 Which justify the wicked for reward and take away the righteousness of the righteous.(out to screw others up any way they can).from him.(Isaiah 5:23)!

Isaiah 5:24 Therefore as the fire devours the stubble and the flame consumes the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness and their blossom shall go up as dust, because they have cast away the law of the Lord.(what law would this be that has always been extant?.Matthew 22:36-40).of hosts and despised the words of the Holy One of Israel.

Isaiah 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne high and lifted up and his train.(a long flowing garment).filled the temple.(a prominent.feature of His presence).

Isaiah 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims. Each one had six wings; with twain.(two).he covered his face and with twain he covered his feet and with twain he did fly.
Seraphims are majestic beings with 6 wings, human hands and voices in attendance upon God..Concise Bible Dictionary:."Each had three sets of wings; with one pair he covered his face, in token of reverence; with another he covered his feet, in token of humility and with the third he flew to accomplish his mission.".More.
Isaiah 6:3,4 And one cried unto another and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts. The whole Earth is full of his glory.(Revelation 4:8)...And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried and the house was filled with smoke.

Isaiah 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! For I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips.(*).and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips, for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.

Isaiah 6:6,7 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar. And he laid it upon my mouth and said, Lo, this has touched your lips and your iniquity is taken away and your sin purged.

Isaiah 6:9 And he said Go and tell this people Hear you indeed but understand not and see you indeed but perceive not.

Isaiah 6:10 Make the heart of this people fat and make their ears heavy and shut their eyes, lest they see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and convert and be healed.
What is this saying?
Isaiah 7:1 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria and Pekah the son of Remaliah.(a captain in the Syrian army who later became king), king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

Isaiah 7:2-6 And it was told the house of David, saying, Syria is confederate with Ephraim.(another name for the northern kingdom of Israel; the southern kingdom was Judah). And his heart was moved and the heart of his people, as the trees of the wood are moved with the wind. Then said the Lord unto Isaiah, Go forth now to meet Ahaz, thou and Shearjashub thy son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the fuller's field. And say unto him, Take heed and be quiet. Fear not, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria and of the son of Remaliah.(king Pekah of Israel). Because Syria, Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, have taken evil counsel against thee, saying, Let us go up against Judah and vex it and let us make a breach therein for us and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal.(let's take them over and place a king from us there).

Isaiah 7:7 Thus says the Lord God, It shall not stand, neither shall it come to pass.

Isaiah 7:13 And he said, Hear you now, O house of David; Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also?

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord.himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son.(Luke 1:30-35).and shall call his name Immanuel.
In the New Testament written in Greek, spelling is Emmanuel.

This prophecy was some 740 years before it was fulfilled in Emmanuel's coming, the turning point of all history. Could any of us predict specific instances to come to pass 700 years from now? Prophecies prove the Bible true.

Isaiah 7:15  Butter and honey shall he eat that he may know to refuse the evil and choose the good.
Barnes Notes: The word 'butter' denotes not butter, but thick and curdled milk. This was the common mode of using milk as an article of food in the East and is still used that way.

"That he may know".As this translation now stands, it is unintelligible. It would seem from this, that his eating butter and honey would contribute to his knowing good and evil. But this cannot be the meaning. It evidently denotes 'until he shall know' or 'at his knowing', that is, he shall arrive at such a period of life as to know good from evil. It's speaking of growing up and coming out of the innocence of childhood.

Isaiah 7:16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil and choose the good, the land that you abhor shall be forsaken of both her kings.

Isaiah 8:6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah.(ways of the true God).that go softly and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son.(Remaliah's son was Pekah);

Isaiah 8:7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria.(who at this time was Tiglath-pileser).and all his glory and he shall come up over all his channels and go over all his banks,

Isaiah 8:8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.(like saying 'oh dear God, how terrible this will be for them').

Isaiah 8:9-10 Associate yourselves, O you people and you shall be broken in pieces.(in other words, associations made for security just won't work).and give ear, all you of far countries.(listen to what's going on). Gird yourselves and you shall be broken in pieces.(forget trying to strengthen yourselves as that won't do you any good). Gird yourselves and you shall be broken in pieces.(original repeats it for emphasis). Take counsel together and it shall come to nought.(forget trying to figure a way out of your dilemma as it won't work). Speak the word and it shall not stand.(no matter what you plan, it's going nowhere), for God is with us.
The evil are of a different frequency of existence and being as they are, there is a lock keeping them from some things:.Romans 8:31.
Matthew Henry's Commentary: "The prophet Isaiah here challenges the enemies of Judah, that their efforts would be vain and themselves broken to pieces."
Isaiah 8:11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

Isaiah 8:12 Say you not, A confederacy.(what's a confederacy?), to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy.(we'll be stronger if we confederate). Neither fear you their fear, nor be afraid.
If you're on God's side, there is no valid reason for fear:.Joshua chapter 24).

Barnes Notes:."Do not join in their purposes of forming a confederacy. Do not unite with the king and the people of Judah in their alarms about the threatened invasion by the kings of Syria and Samaria and in their purpose to form an alliance with the king of Assyria. The reason why they should not do this, he states in Isaiah 8:13, where he exhorts the nation to put confidence in the Lord rather than in man. Do not partake of their alarm at the invasion of the land by the united armies of Syria and Samaria. Rather put confidence in God and believe that he is able to save you:.1Peter 3:13,14."

Isaiah 8:13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts.(what's the Lord of hosts?).himself and let him be your fear and let him be your dread.(original for 'dread' is 'afraid' as verses 12 and 13, just above, translate the original word).

Isaiah 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary and for for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Isaiah 8:14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling.(Romans 9:31-33).and for a rock of offence.(Matthew 13:11).to both the houses of Israel, for a gin.(Barnes Notes:."a net or snare to take birds, the idea being the same as in the former part of the verse; by rejecting the counsel of God and by despising his protection and by resisting his laws, they would be unexpectedly involved in difficulties, as birds which are caught in a snare").and for a gin.(a trap, a snare, a noose, lure, bait).and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Isaiah 8:15 And many among them shall stumble and fall and be broken, snared and taken.

Isaiah 8:17 And I will wait upon the Lord that hides his face from the house of Jacob and I will look for him.
Barnes Notes: Isaiah saw that in regard to the great mass of the nation, his exhortation had been in vain. He now says, that having delivered his message, he would patiently look to God alone. His hope was in God, though the nation looked elsewhere and though calamities were coming, yet he would still trust in God only.
Isaiah 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits and unto wizards that peep and that mutter. Should not a people seek unto their God, for the living to the dead?
Isaiah 8:19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits and unto wizards that peep and that mutter.(peep & mutter alludes to the unintelligible sounds they emitted.as they allegedly received messages from beyond; incantations). Should not a people seek unto their God, for.(or, 'rather than').the living.(consulting).to the dead?

Lowth renders.it."In place of consulting the living, should one consult the dead?".Idolatrous.people back then were into all kinds of witchcraft and divination. It's as evil today as it was then.

So-called black magic does work, however, it's limited to those out to do evil and those who use it are simply bringing back on themselves the negatives they wanted to affect others with, because one reaps what he sows. If you're of God, that is, are a growing product of God, growing in God's ways.(2Peter 3:18), you 'don't make deals with the devil' using such satanic things as black magic and other evil satanic things:.Leviticus 17:7; Deuteronomy 32:17; Psalms 106:36-39; 1Corinthians 10:20,21; 1Timothy 4:1; 2Timothy 2:26; James 4:7; Revelation 9:20

The brightness of the light of the one and only true God of all things life, completely dissipates the darkness those evilly influenced people on the dark side pathway of death want for others. Their nonsense practices only affect those believing there is substance to them, but that does not apply to those of the light:.Luke 10:19 "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy.(that is, if you use it, how?.Romans 13:1).and nothing shall by any means hurt you." 2Thessalonians 2:8 "And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming." Isaiah 1:27 "Zion shall be redeemed with judgment and her converts with righteousness.".Doesn't say 'will be redeemed with black magic', does it? Note, it says."redeemed with righteousness", not redeemed by means of black magic and similar horribly evil satanic practices.

It's our God that knows how to clean us up:.Isaiah 1:25 "And I will turn my hand upon you and purely purge away your dross and take away all your tin." 2Corinthians 6:17 "Wherefore come out from among them and be you separate, says the Lord and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you." Galatians 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies.

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Isaiah 8:20 To the law.(original for 'law' is 'teachings' {what are the teachings for today since the words of the Old Testament law are no longer applicable?}).and to the testimony.(the testimony is the recorded result of those things the teachings would produce: Deuteronomy 5:29-33); if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

In the original this is 'instruct and repeat with your words the light'. It's saying that people should look inside them (verse 19 above) to the Infinite Intelligence or God in them such as by having quiet time and allowing your subconscious to surface. They should instruct their subconscious, which is their connection with this Infinite Intelligence, with their conscious mind, instruct it by using words to affect the subconscious that will bring the best for all of us.

Isaiah 8:21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead.(here the word 'bestead' is a Hebrew word meaning 'to be under oppression' or to be 'in circumstances of hardship').and hungry and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves and curse their king and their God and look upward.

Isaiah 9:1 Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

Isaiah 9:2 The people that walked in darkness.(those of ordinary consciousness).have seen a great light. They that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them has the light shined.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And the government shall be upon his shoulder.(Isaiah 22:22). And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor.(Romans 11:33; Colossians 2:3), The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Peace is the absence of fear:.Micah 4:4.
Isaiah 9:7 Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end upon the throne of David.(Acts 2:29,30).and upon his kingdom, to order it.(since nature is always in order, unless man has tampered with it, this then is talking about humans and man keeping himself in order, which means what?).and to establish it with judgment and with justice.(Micah 4:3,4).from henceforth.(the Kingdom will start off on Earth clean and continue that way).even for ever. The zeal of the God of hosts will perform this.
A promise from God to David about the endless rule of Christ:.1Kings 8:25; 2Samuel 7:12,13; Psalms 132:11; Acts 2:29,30.
Isaiah 9:9,10 And all the people shall know, even Ephraim and the inhabitant of Samaria, that say in the pride and stoutness of heart, The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones. The sycomores.(Amos 7:14).are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.
They find their own way to solve their problems instead of looking to God in it all.
Isaiah 9:11,12 Therefore God shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him and join his enemies together; The Syrians before and the Philistines behind and they shall devour Israel with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Isaiah 9:13 For the people turned not unto him that had smitten them, neither do they seek the God of hosts.
The people despised those who were causing them harm, but still they didn't want God to help them with their troubles.
Isaiah 9:15 The ancient and honourable, he is the head and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail.

Isaiah 9:16 For the leaders of this people cause them to err and they that are led of them are destroyed.(original for 'destroyed' is 'swallow up', that is, sucked in, engulfed and this scripture is in the past, present and future tense).

Isaiah 9:17 Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows. For every one is an hypocrite and an evildoer and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

Isaiah 10:1,2 Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees and that write grievousness which they have prescribed to turn aside the needy from judgment and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey and that they may rob the fatherless!
Note that their decrees were written down, meaning planned and that they were to be grievousnees on those whom their writings were targeted towards and that they involved taking away any rights the poor people, including those already disadvantaged, have. The so-called written down laws used by a so-called justice, court, attorney, legal system are used to do just that today. Consider the wicked works of Child Protective Services.

Who were these evil ones throughout history?.Revelation 3:9.

The fatherless are those lacking the good training of a family headed by a father able to train the kids about proper ways in circumventing the evils in life and in keeping them on a pathway of good.

1Kings 20:1-28; Psalms 58:3; Isaiah 29:15; Hosea 7:13; Jude 1:11.

More on the poor amongst you:.John 12:8.

Isaiah 10:3 And what will you do in the day of visitation.(the multiversal law is we reap what we have sown).and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will you flee for help? and where will you leave your glory?
Your confidently arrogant high-mindedness will be no longer.

Barnes Notes: The prophet Isaiah here refers to the crimes specified in the previous verses. The people were not at all good and were getting worse (Isaiah 30:10), heading toward severe correction (so they would wake up and get on the road to good. What's good?) by the invasion of the land by a foreign force. ‘What will you do?', that is, to whom will you go then? What refuge will they be to you? Implying that the calamity would be so great that there would be no refuge or escape.

Jeremiah 5:30,31.

Isaiah 10:4 Without me they shall bow down as prisoners and fall with thoseslain. For all this his.(God's).anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
In other words, not on God's side, they''ll soon wish they were and the true God stands always ready to help the sincere hearted..(*).

Ezekiel 18:31 "Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby you have transgressed and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit, for why will you die, O house of Israel?"
Ezekiel 33:11 "Say unto them, As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn you, turn you from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?"

Isaiah 10:5,6 O Assyrian the rod of mine anger and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. I will send him against an hypocritical nation and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil and to take the prey and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
Why was God so cruel?
Isaiah 10:7 Howbeit he.(verse above).means not so, neither does his heart think so to do, but it is in his heart.(his basic inborn nature he sees not how and knows not why he should be different; why?.2Corinthians 3:16).to destroy and cut off.(as Esau's purpose was to be a constant antagonist to Jacob and his progeny).nations not a few.
Such is the way of the ego and who put it in his heart?.Revelation 17:17. And why?.Isaiah 1:1-20)

JFB Commentary: The Assyrian is only thinking of his own schemes, while God is maneuvering them to His purposes:.Genesis 50:20; Proverbs 16:4.

Isaiah 10:8 For he says Are not my princes altogether kings?
Or to put it another way, 'We are the master race, the world controllers, destined to be over all others and rule them how we want'. Like king Sennacherib, history repeats, with those through the ages being much the same in wanting to grab it all for themselves and subjugate the rest, never interested in being a blessing and a help to others.

Barnes Notes: The ambitious purpose of Sennacherib was not confined to Judea. His plan was also to invade and to conquer Egypt and the destruction of Judea, was only a part of his scheme:.Isaiah 20:4. This is a most remarkable instance of the supremacy which God asserts over the purposes of wicked people. Sennacherib formed his own plan. He devised large purposes of ambition and intended to devastate kingdoms. And yet God says that he was under his direction and that his plans would be overruled to further God's own purposes:.Psalms 76:10. And from this we may learn that wicked people form their plans and devices with perfect freedom. They lay their schemes as if there were no superintending.providence, no compulsion felt to make them nor any specified.fate to come upon them because of it. Plans of wicked people often, though they do not intend them to, go to execute the purposes of God. Their schemes result in just what they did not intend, the furtherance of God's plans.
Their plans are, nevertheless, wicked and abominable and are to be judged according to the reap and sow law of the universe, to what they are in themselves and not according to the use which God may make of them by counteracting or overruling them. Their intention was evil and by that they must be judged. That God brings good out of them, is contrary to their design and a thing for which they deserve no credit. The wicked are in the hands of God and none of their plans can defeat the purposes of the Almighty. This extends to all on their thrones, the rich, the great and the mighty and all others as well. Over all people is this superintending and controlling providence and all are subject to the direction of God.

Matthew Henry's Commentary: When God brings people into trouble (Isaiah 10:3-7), it is to bring the why of it to their memory, so they can see why they are in trouble. Often it's because they needed humbling and awakening, having walked in the wrong direction for so long. When these points are gained by the affliction, the trouble is removed in mercy, as happened time and time again in the past.

Isaiah 10:11 Shall I not as I have done unto Samaria and her idols so do to Jerusalem and her idols?

Isaiah 10:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord has performed his whole work upon mount Zion.and on Jerusalem, I will punish.(original is 'number', here meaning God notes the attitude of the heart; God used them to chastise, but noted what this has done to the attitude of the chastisers).the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria and the glory of his high looks.

Isaiah 10:13 For he says, By the strength of my hand I have done it and by my wisdom, for I am prudent and I have removed the bounds of the people and have robbed their treasures and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man.
Isaiah 10:13 For he says, By the strength of my hand I have done it and by my wisdom, for I am prudent.(I see things that the dupesdon't).and I have removed the bounds of the people.(I contol them, setting the borders as I see fit; they are in my hand).and have robbed their treasures.(do the people today at all have say in either the good or evil things taking away the wealth of the land that is theirs?).and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man.(by using methods designed to keep them down. Any of these affecting us today?
Isaiah 10:14 And my hand has found as a nest the riches of the people and as one gathers eggs that are left, have I gathered all the Earth and there was none that moved the wing or opened the mouth or peeped.
The people just allowed it to happen and the Earth was taken over by those wanting control of it all.
Isaiah 10:17 And the light of Israel shall be for a fire and his Holy One for a flame and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;

Isaiah 10:20,21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them, but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
Isaiah 10:20,21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay.(lean upon; characteristic of many subjugated nations is to rely upon those than conquered them and not God for sustenance;, like the constantly complaining ancient Israelites after God through Moses brought them out the land of Egypt where they were slaves for 430 years {Exodus 12:40}:.Numbers 14:2).upon him that smote them, but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
Isaiah 10:22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return. The consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
Isaiah 10:22 For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return. The consumption.(original 'to complete', 'finish', 'waste away', 'vanish', 'disappear', basically denotes a languishing or wasting away as what happens to leaves after dropping from trees).decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
Isaiah 10:23 For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.

Isaiah 10:23 For the Lord God of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.

God was restoring what was left of the nation of Israel after they had gone through such trials.
Isaiah 10:24,25 Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts O my people that dwell in Zion be not afraid of the Assyrian.(2Kings 17:5,6,24). He shall smite you with a rod and shall lift up his staff against you after the manner of Egypt. For yet a very little while and the indignation shall cease with mine anger in their destruction.
