What pleases God
is one's faith and acceptance of Emmanuel
the Christ and one's willingness to let his self be.His.workmanship:
Ephesians
2:10.
And the old covenant Mosaic
Law could not
justify.(another
word for 'make righteous').anyone:.Romans
3:20,21; Acts 13:39; Galatians
3:6-9; Hebrews 7:11.
Hebrews
7:12 says it was changed.
The change was that the righteousness
of it was fulfilled in Christ.(Luke
24:44), who is far above
everything
and who imparts righteousness now to all those who believe in Him.(believe
He exists).and
in what He came to Earth to do:.Romans
5:17.
The law then was for showing
that no way, not by any rule or regulation, even of God's devising.(Exodus
31:18; Romans 7:12-14),
could they be made righteous without Christ's nature in them, the
only
hope
of
glory, in this life and beyond:.Colossians
1:27; Ephesians 3:21.
Righteousness is a gift
from God, of how He now looks at you and me, so we can be free and
in confidence, able to have a relationship with Him:.Romans
5:16,17. The realization of this gift specifically and individually
applied to each of us is so powerful, it is the one thing to permanently
change the heart to a heart as God has.
David did incredibly
horrible things,
Abraham too.
Their works were terrible if compared to the Mosaic law! But they believed
God! Both will have high positions in the Kingdom
of God.
No one wants to have a relationship
with someone of whom he is fearful of retribution.
And the Great
Infinite One knows that no real meaningful relationship can exist unless
both feel totally comfortable and equal with each other:.Ephesians
3:12;
Hebrews 10:35; 3:6;
1John
3:21; 2:28. Often it is our
own guilt that separates us from God.
You do not have to have a
set of rules and regulations to 'get yourself right with God'. God declares
you
righteous,
holy
and perfect so that you can feel free and relaxed
in a relationship with Him. That is the gift Christ made possible.
Why the Mosaic Law? It only
had to do with the flesh:.Hebrews
9:1,9.10. It provided a point of focus to another time far distant
when Christ would deal with the things of the heart, which the Mosaic Law
was unable to do:.Hebrews
9:11-14.
The Mosaic Law was necessary
for one thing only:.Hebrews
9:23. Without it, one would not overstand
why God could not have a spiritual relationship with him, so the Mosaic
Law was was something to believe in that was about God and God's higher
standard of living. Without this law in one's life, they were on the outs
with God. This law provided a mirror, as it were, for it was by means of
this law that they could see that it was not enough. The law pointed to
something greater; that was its purpose. It showed sin to be what it was:.Romans
7:8 ".....without the law, sin.(missing
the mark of a relationship with God).was
dead"
Paul delighted in the Law
in the inward man.(soul),
the law of the spirit of life.(Romans
7:22), the law of judgment,
mercy
and faith.(Matthew
23:23), not the law of sin and
death:.Romans
8:2.
The Mosaic Law.(the
old
covenant).was
a law of death.(2Corinthians
3:7,9).because
it could not make one's heart right with the
Great Infinite One in whom is life:.John
1:4. Because of that, humanity without God, could never be in sync
with his Creator. Humanity was made to need God, to express God, which
means to express the things of God, in his daily living. And what would
those things
be?
This Old Testament Mosaic
Law could not make one's
heart right because it was not designed to do so. We came here with a spiritual
void in us. All life is really a search to fill this dire need. That's
why the examples of others toward this end are important:.1Corinthians
10:11. It seems humanity has been so imprisoned by his low consciousness
ego living, that he's in a daze when it comes to his spiritual future.
He can't even get
himself to thinking straight about it. Man's hopeless without God awakening
him.
The Old Testament Law was
simply for the purpose of showing that something greater was needed than
it and this something greater was Christ in us. First, what
is Christ and what's
this about Him 'being in us'?
The Old Testament law was
a ministration
of condemnation
and death: But it had a glory
which was its purpose to show the need of that which would work toward
better living when Christ came on the scenes:.2Corinthians
3:7-11; Hebrews 10:1-9; 7:22;
8:6.
The heart of man needed changing.
The plan man, was to first
show men and women the evilness of their nature. For this a
mirror was necessary. The mirror back then was this Old
Testament law.

New Testament Notes:."Law
condemns the guilty. It doesn't save them. To pardon is to depart from
the law and must be done under the operation of another system—since a
law which contains a provision for the pardon of offenders and permits
them to escape, would be a burlesque in legislation. The tendency of the
Mosaic institutions, therefore, was to produce a sense of condemnation.
And so it will be found by all who attempt to be justified by the law.
It will tend to and result in their condemnation."
2Corinthians
3:17 "Now the Lord is that Spirit and where the Spirit of the Lord
is there is liberty."
The new
covenant far excels the old.
Paul,
formerly a strict.adherent
to
the
old covenant, now lives, not to do the Mosaic Law, but lives in Christ:.Philippians
1:21 "For to me, to live is Christ.....".
And Paul asks the question
to the spiritual people of God.(Hebrews
4:9; 1Peter 2:4,9).in
Galatia
"why are you still serving the law? Don't you realize it was in effect
only until Christ came and died and has absolutely nothing at all to do
with the promise?":.Galatians
3:16,18,19; also verse 6.
And to
those called by God in the ancient city of Rome, Paul says:.Romans
4:3,13. Also in Corinth.
This high quality relationship
with the Father is possible under the new covenant:.Hebrews
8:10; 10:16,17.(as
Creator-God no longer {Hebrews 3:10}
looks at our faults; see also 'Sin No
Longer Counts').
Emmanuel's ministry did
not involve a message of condemnation toward people, except toward
the Pharisees,
who felt that because they thought that they kept the old covenant, they
were the righteous ones, superior to others they knew.
Many Pharisees were upset
with Emmanuel's message. Many today stuck in parts of the old covenant
feel the same. With those Pharisees it was a covetous thing. They held
fast to their rules and regulations based on the Mosaic Law and felt, because
of this adherence,
that they were in a fine state with God:.Matthew
15:1-14; 23:27,28.
