Isaiah
40:1 Comfort you, comfort you my people, says your God.
We
shouild be of the mind to be comforting to others because God himself is
comforting to us:.2Corinthians
1:3.
Isaiah 40:2 Speak you comfortably to Jerusalem and
cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned,
for she has received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins.
Isaiah
40:2 Speak you comfortably.(original
for 'comfortably' is 'to the heart'; comprised
with Barnes
Notes: To speak 'to the heart' is to speak in such a way as to
remove the troubles of the heart and furnish.consolation
and joy. It means that they were not merely to urge such topics as should
convince the mind, but such also as should be adopted
to minister consolation to the heart. So the word is used in.Genesis
34:3; 50:21; 2Chronicles
32:6; the Creator is
kind, even to the evil ones).to
Jerusalem
and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished.(felt
so bad, as you would too, if your child had to go to war; but now all war
is finished:.Micah
4:3,4; Ezekiel 9:4),
that her iniquity is pardoned.(original
'satisfied', 'paid off', 'pleased', no
longer counts against you), for she has received of the Lord's
hand double for all her sins.
Double blessings
that is, such as Job found out:.Job
42:10-12. The Creator
is so good even to
those unthankful and to those who are evil:.Isaiah
61:7; Zechariah 9:12.
Isaiah 40:2.paraphrased:
'Speak comfortably...we all cry over her that she had to go to war and
now that it's over, her iniquity is pardoned for the things she did in
war and she is now going to receive a double blessing for the sad things
she did which even made her feel bad and want to run away from it all':.Romans
7:19 "For the good that I would I do not, but the evil which I would
not, that I do.".This
verse in Romans is talking about our contradictory.natures
using Paul's personal experience.
Isaiah
40:3 The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare.(original
is 'look' or look to).your way
to God, make straight.(original
'pleasing').in the desert a
highway.(a
raised road that others will easily find).for
our God.
Verse
is talking of a spiritual pathway that you
help others to see as later in Christ's time, John the baptist did:.Matthew
3:1. Also repeated by Emmanuel in the New Testament:.Matthew
3:3.
Isaiah
40:4 Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill shall
be made low and the crooked shall be made straight and the rough places
plain.
Isaiah
40:5 And the glory of God shall be revealed and all flesh shall see
it together.(original
for word 'together' also gives 'alike', that is it wlll be the same for
all whenever they are exposed to it).for
the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.
Isaiah
40:6,7 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh
is grass and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field.
The grass withers, the flower fades, because the spirit of the Lord blows
upon it. Surely the people is grass.
It's
saying that humans are made for a short time on Earth, so, it's important
to move out of the physical realm
and into the spiritual, as the next verse shows.
Isaiah
40:8 The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands
for ever.
So,
become a living word as Christ was, so you
too will live forever:.John
14:6.
That
which sustains all, that is, never varies:.Malachi
3:6. The frequencies designed
for life and maintenance of it all, are constant throughout time. How
to use them to advantage.
Isaiah
40:10 Behold God comes with a strong hand and his arm shall rule for
him. Behold, his reward is with him and his
work before him.(Ephesians
2:10; Revelation 22:12).
Isaiah 40:12
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand and meted out heaven
with the span and comprehended the dust of the Earth in a measure and weighed
the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?
Isaiah
40:13 Who has directed the Spirit of God or being his counsellor has
taught him?
God's
greatness.
Isaiah
40:14 With whom took he counsel and who instructed him and taught him
in the path of judgment and taught him knowledge and showed to him the
way of understanding?
The
Creator.is.the
first
cause of all we have, see and know of. Just as we have a sense of what's
right, so does God. All God does and thinks is right. That's just how God
is. No one taught him. Babies are that way too. They just know that way,
because they are that way. They sense love. At about
the age of three their minds are getting ready to taste what life is
all about. Yep! They are going to taste and be affected by the bad in life,
but not to worry, they have to see the wrongs as a contrast to the rights
they intuitively know. This is a choices time and choice develops character.
Good parents can help them here. How?
Not to worry as God wanted humanity to experience this wrong side. God
made a way back from all the s~^t each one of us has tasted of:.Proverbs
22:6. Do a good job with bringing up your children and if they want
to get away later (teen years maybe?) and head down the road of hell, they.will.come
back:.Luke15:11-32.
God allowed the world to become as it has, because God made a way back
for each of us. That way is Christ.
Isaiah
40:15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket and are counted
as the small dust of the balance. Behold, he take up the isles as a very
little thing.
Daniel
4:35; Romans 9:20.
Isaiah
40:17 All nations before him are as nothing.(Job
7:17,18).and they are counted
to him less than nothing and vanity.
It's
saying that, in comparison to just how incredibly powerful and responsible
over absolutely everything God is, man is puny,
as the next few verses show.
Isaiah
40:18 To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare
unto him?
Isaiah
40:21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told
you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of
the Earth?
Isaiah
40:22 It is he that sits upon the circle of the Earth and the
inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers. It is he that stretches out the
heavens as a curtain and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in;
Psalms
39:5; 62:9-11.
Isaiah
40:23 That brings the princes to nothing.
He makes the judges of the Earth as vanity.
Isaiah
40:25 To whom then will you liken me or shall I be equal? says the
Holy One..(?)
Isaiah
40:26 Lift up your eyes on high.(awaken
to the reality of things).and
behold
who has created these things.(Nehemiah
9:6), that brings out their host by number. He calls
them all by names by the greatness of his might.(Isaiah
40:12-15,17,18), for that he is strong in power.(Job
26:7,12).not one fails.(*).
Isaiah
40:27 Why say you, O Jacob
and speak, O Israel, My way is hid from God and my judgment is passed over
from my God?
The
Man is saying, God just doesn't notice us.
Barnes
Notes: "This verse reproves the people
for their lack of confidence in God. The idea is 'If God is so great that
the hosts of heaven are arranged with such unerring skill, causing all
the stars to observe their proper place and their exact times.(how
is this done?), the interests of his people
are safe in his hands'."
Isaiah 40:28 Have you not known? have you not heard,
that the everlasting God, the Creator.(*).of
the ends of the Earth, faints not, neither is weary? There is no searching
of his understanding.
Isaiah
40:28 Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting
God, the Creator of the ends of the Earth, faints not, neither is weary.(an
invisible being, one in the
spiritual realm, can be like this, one who operates on much higher
frequencies {*} beyond the
frequencies of physical matter on Earth and the visible known multiverse)?
There is no searching of his understanding.
Isaiah
40:28; Job 11:7-9; 1Corinthians
2:16;
Deuteronomy 29:29;
Daniel
2:22; Hebrews 11:3; and not only
that, no one finds God unless God wants to be found.
Isaiah
40:29 He gives power to the faint and to them that have no might he
increases strength.
Isaiah
40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary and the young men shall
utterly fall.
Isaiah
40:31 But they that wait.(means
to
trust in Him).upon
God renew their strength. They mount up with wings as eagles. They run
and not get weary and they walk and not faint.
Psalms
31:24.
