Ecclesiastes 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
Your good reputation is one thing that you can afford to give others and another is.
Ecclesiastes 7:2 It is better to go to the house of mourning.(go to the funerals of those you knew, if inclined to learn more about reality of life), than to go to the house of feasting. For that is the end of all men and the living will lay it to his heart.

Ecclesiastes 7:3 Sorrow is better than laughter, for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.

Ecclesiastes 7:4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.

Ecclesiastes 7:5 It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Ecclesiastes 7:9 Be not hasty in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.

Ecclesiastes 7:10 Say not you, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? For you do not enquire wisely concerning this.

Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defence.(original is 'ability to see the dark side', in other words one is able to know what he may be facing in any particular situation, if it's a con to gain advantage of you or maybe purposely cause physical harm in some way?).and money is a defence, but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom gives life.(keeps you from the negative ways of life).to them that have it.
Barnes Notes: He who is defended from adversity by his wisdom is in as good a position as he who is defended by his riches.

What long term gain to you or another is it to know something that doesn't produce good?

Ecclesiastes 7:13 Consider the work of God. For who can make that straight, which he has made crooked?
Things go the way the Creator wants them to go, for His own reasons, such as in the case of the crucifixion.
Ecclesiastes 7:14 In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity.consider that God also has set the one over against the other.(or as.Barnes Notes.puts it 'made this as well as that':.Ecclesiastes 6:12), to the end that man should find nothing.(?).after him.
That is, apart from God, there is nothing. Avoid being distracted looking for some elusive.holy grail out there. All you need is within you. All good and things of good, are God, that is, God is really all there is. Without God, the multiverse would not be there.

Clarke's Commentary: When you receive these temporal gifts from God, enjoy them and be thankful to the Giver, but remember, this sunshine will not always last, because we tend to vacillate in our character. How not to. God has balanced prosperity and adversity (why?.1Peter 1:2) against each other and were it not so, how many would put the former in the place of God himself:.Psalms 30:6; 35:27; Jeremiah 22:21.

Word 'him' not in original, meaning, all man needs to move forward and away from the mistake prone life, is seen by comprehending the two sides of life.

Ecclesiastes 6:12 "For who knows what is good for man in this life. All the days of his vain life he spends as a shadow? Who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?"

Ecclesiastes 7:15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity.(the temporary expression of the spirit we are in human form on this Earth for learning). There is a just man that perishes in his righteousness and there is a wicked man that prolongs his life in his wickedness.
The righteous man was less enthused about his life than the wicked who was heartily intent on his way of life:.Romans 9:14; a good example of this was ancient Job who was a very good and wealthy man, but became somewhat complacent with his life, so the Creator had to wake him up.
Ecclesiastes 7:17 Be not over much wicked, neither be you foolish; why should you die before thy time?

Ecclesiastes 7:18 It is good that you should take hold of this, yes, also from this withdraw not your hand, for he that fears God.(fears God? fear never does any good for anyone; God doesn't want you to fear Him; what does the word 'fear' mean here).shall come forth of them all.

Ecclesiastes 7:19.Wisdom strengthens the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.

Ecclesiastes 7:20.Just men upon Earth do good and sins not.

Ecclesiastes 7:21 Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken, lest you hear your servant curse you.
And, he may curse you to others at times, so what! Don't be too concerned about who says what and why they may have said it. Stand in life with faith and love in your heart. Hey! No matter what others may say about you, it's stlll attention. They at least were thinking of you! Ha ha!
Ecclesiastes 7:22,23 For oftentimes also your own heart knows that you yourself likewise have cursed others. All this have I proved by wisdom. I said, I will be wise, but it was far from me.

Ecclesiastes 7:24 That which is far off and exceeding deep.(Ephesians 3:10,18,19), who can find it out?

Ecclesiastes 7:25 I applied mine heart to know and to search and to seek out wisdom and the reason of things and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness.

Ecclesiastes 7:26 And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares.(out to get all she can get from you; selfish; a user; an abuser).and nets and her hands as bands.(keeping you so you can't or won't pursue your own interests; the satanic way of 'don't serve God, serve me':.Philippians 1:25). Whoso pleases.(or, is in alignment with).God escapes from her, but the sinner.(what is?).is taken by her.
How to live a life pleasing to God and that's one that doesn't take you off the road of happinesss. God is all for you:.Philippians 1:25; Psalms 31:24.
Ecclesiastes 7:27 Behold, this have I found, says the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account.

Ecclesiastes 7:28 Which yet my soul seeks, but I find not; one man among a thousand have I found, but a woman among all those have I not found.(*).

Ecclesiastes 7:29.Lo, this only have I found, that God has made man upright, but they have sought out many inventions.
Closer to the original: 'God made man good.(*).and with a curiosity.(curiosity, the interest in unknown things and things not fully figured out, so man tinkers with even things that are dangerous trying them on unsuspecting others).so that he would search out such things as he is inquisitive about, learning and thinking as he did so and thus continue to improve'.

But like all things satanically influenced that man does, they are altered to evil and lied about so you will believe they are ok; vaccinations and other poisonings.

Proverbs 1:31.

God made man good, because the true real God is good. God creates what He is, good and eternal! When did God make man good?.2Timothy 1:9.

Original for word 'inventions' is 'has devised many things', of which some are good and many are hurtful.(Job 5:12; Psalms 106:39), especially the things designed from the level of the ego and with satanic influence behind him. How does this work?
