-I belong to a group
that believes that the Old Testament curses are passed on from generation
to generation and need to be expiated
or these succeeding generations will remain under the curses and that could
be one of the reasons I'm in poverty and my family was before me and that,
if I'm poor, it's because a curse has been passed on from generation to
generation and this allows the devil to cause more poverty and hardships
in my life. This is based this on Exodus
20:5. My group has a ministry where one can take classes to learn how
to stop these curses which they say are implemented by the devil.
Ancient Job must have thought
his life too was cursed, what with all that was happening to him. I mean,
talk about a guy who lost everything!
He too could have believed in curses being passed on from generation to
generation as his kids got touched too, but he didn't and he also didn't
see at first why he was having such a negative life. But he eventually
did see why.
Let's now look at the
verse mentioned in the question:.Exodus
20:5 and it will answer your question, along with the fact all old
covenant stuff has been long
abolished. I suppose the idols your group are talking about, if they
are using this verse, would be whatever consumes one's attention in this
day and age eh? Like; maybe a sports car, a lavish lifestyle, workaholic
job, etc. And true, these will detract from one's time for Bible
study and talking
and listening to God time. The advantage to being a workaholic is that
working day and night, one earns enough money to pay the doctor when he
break's down!
This passage of Exodus 20:5
was talking to those who would soon agree to be bound by terms.(a
contract or a covenant; an agreement).of
the old
covenant comprising the Old
Testament.Mosaic
Law:.Exodus
24:3,7.
The Creator was saying in
this verse that those then who evidence lack of interest for their Creator
by refusing to keep His laws in effect back then.(not
in effect today), would cause a curse
upon their future generations. For a church group to insist these generational
curses are in effect today is the same as saying 'we'll follow this
Old Testament stuff as we don't believe in the saving grace, mercy and
kindness Christ came to make known for all those asking for it.
Otherwise
it's just another doctrine
of the dark side to kick
Christ out of one's life.
Those ancient kings who lived
evilly
were often taken into captivity and/or had untimely deaths, as shown in
the examples of ancient king Jehoahaz
and his son Joash.
Time
and time again the Creator would save them when they changed.
It's now the time of Christ
since His death and resurrection
and the Old Testament Mosaic Law now gone. Believing in these 'passed on
curses', these judgments of God upon future generations of someone who
is evil, is just being out of touch with Christ and attempting to resurrect
the tenets of
the Mosaic Law. The Mosaic Law itself was
a curse. Be glad it's no longer effective. It had its purpose back
then, but now something greater has superseded

Those espousing
Old Testament laws that are now abolished, is a trick the devil uses to
pump a false alternate gospel into the minds of those who get a sense of
power through control over others by using such as what they still believe
to be a law. The curses passed on from generation to generation, is a 'salvation
by works' philosophy apart from the faith of Emmanuel the Christ.
The
Creator is.always.kind,
merciful, forgiving. Translators back then believing that God is cruel.(is
God cruel?).and
harsh, unwittingly.flavored.ambiguous
original meanings,
such
as here. But, God did instruct things of cruelty to be done in His
name.(so,
really, God is responsible for it, as He also is
for everything).as
recorded in the Old Testament writings.
It is amazing how busy and
unrelenting
the dark side is. They keep pumping
things into minds about being busy with works to "save ourselves",
getting those same minds off of knowing that
we are already righteous,
were called and saved before the multiverse was built.(2Timothy
1:9), were perfect
and holy.(1Peter

then, as it all looked forward to Christ having given us His gift of righteousness.(Romans
5:17).and
having made us righteous.(2Corinthians

the Father's eyes and instead of that, getting our minds off of the incredible
position that we are presently in with God.(Philippians

to Christ having been made a curse for us:.Galatians

One 'saves himself' by growing
in Christ.(Ephesians
4:15), so as not to fall back into
any evil living he or she came out of:.Hebrews

God in Christ has already
given us the victory:.John
8:24; 1Corinthians 15:57.
Generational curses were never relevant for those of a higher consciousness,
only for those in old covenant times who were of such low consciousness
that they were stupid enough to build an idol with their own hands and
worship it: Exodus 20:5.
But some still want.(Galatians
1:6-8; 3:1-7; 2Peter
2:1).to
revel in a law that was designed for the opposite of making one righteous
by faith.(Galatians
3:10-12), thereby enabling a relationship
with God. Such are they who feel necessary to keep trying to bring
the Mosaic Law's parts back from its defunct state. Sadly, some still think
that by learning to do this and do that, some curse will come off them.
So they live with the thought of a curse on them.(what
a burden and what bondage),
instead of with thoughts of thankfulness that they have received the gift
of righteousness and thereby are accepted by God.
The truth makes us free and
what
we call Satan's tricking us through our
egos, enslaves:.John

In all these devilish
tricks, living in a righteous state
of and by the faith of Emmanuel the
Christ is always left out and an alternate
gospel predominates.
I have heard it many times
in many ways. One, continually bombarded by such crap as 'your works will
get you in a right state with God', is bound to eventually absorb some
of it. Look! It is only the blood of Emmanuel and His righteousness
and your acceptance of that, that keeps you in a right state with God,
that is, in the frequency of love.
Your works have nothing to do with salvation. When you help and thus love
others, these works are counted toward your reward. Your reward is not
salvation. Salvation is your inheritance:.1Peter
1:4.
Salvation.(the
gift of eternal life into the
Family of the Great Infinite Intelligence).comes
only through faith in Emmanuel the Christ:.John
10:28. It is a gift from God who loved us all so much that the Christ
member of this family of spirit beings
came to Earth as a human and died so we all could be adopted

Your
reward
in this family of spirit beings of light is a position based on your
works
of love here and now, which shows your capability in the area of love
and thereby
your particular reward.
